i´ve made a nonlinear quasi static analysis with optistruct of a dogbone tensile test. Is there a possibility to make a stress-strain curve with hyperview? Until now i´ve just found forum entries where this was made with radioss as solver.

My time data setting is as follows.

Time step is 0.001 sec, Time range for analysis is 0~1.5 sec. (=> the number of time data is 1500)

I use the 'Freq' and 'FFTmag' function in HyperGraph.

The frequency data range is 0~499.51171875Hz and the number of the frequency data is 1024.

(I attached the time and frequency files in .csv format.)

According to the figure,

Time step, Δt= 0.001 -> Bandwidth or Max Freq , F_max = 500Hz

the number of time data, N = 1500 -> Spectral line, SL = 750

I think Frequency resolution(Δf) should be F_max / SL = 500/750 = 0.6667Hz.

But in my data, frequency resolution is about 0.488Hz.

I don't know why.

What is the formula of 'Freq' and 'FFTmag' in HyperGraph?

I'm sure this must be relatively easy to do but can't find the correct Templex command(s)?

I am performing a tensile test on a test coupon bar, accordingly to the tutorial proposed at the part 3.1.5 of Nonlinear_FEA free ebook by Altair. I have some problems in plotting the stress-strain curve: I do not understand why some scale factors are introduced and why the designer chose those values. My main problem is which scale factors values choose for my plot: I use another .fem virtual desk, I create the spring and the RBE2, then I follow document/video steps.

I create from a curve a FFT. The amplitude of the curve is of 1, but the magnitude of the FFT is a lot lot time higher than the original data. I have observed that it changes according to the number of point data from the original curve. Is a procedure to fix this? or I am missinterpreting something?

For the value between the data lines, they may be interpolated simply.

]]>For example I want to plot the displacement of the spring or shock vs wheel center displacement, but when I do so the entire date of the analysis is plotted and I get these values on this yellow area.

What I want to know is how to select certain part of the analysis to plot. For example only the part where the ride analysis is performed or the steering analysis is performed. Because the standard reports, only plot a certain range of data generated from the ptl file.

I am using the templates provided by Altair of Formula SAE suspension to build the models and perform the analysis.

I also want to know if there is a list that relate the requests and components that are generated from the user defined outputs, because I would like to know if the Roll center height is one of this variables. So I don´t have to create it.

I am unable to interpret energy curves like ( total energy, kinetic energy, internal energy, hourglass energy)

How could I get confirm if my simulation results are correct by the means of these curves.

One more thing, in many FEA books (such as practical aspects of FEA) they talk wrt Potential energy but there are no such plots for potential energy in global variables.

Please suggest me to reach to the conclusions.

I created pretensioner spring for a bolt.

But ın Hypergraph, forces on bolts occurs very large. What is the reason of this very large force ?

Is there any way to see forces on bolts?
