Hi guys, since I get these Informations quite late in the evening, I can't contact the hotline Today I've started the analysis with -core IN -nproc 12 -optskip -checkel no AND PARAM,HASHASSM,YES. I have currently like 1,5TB space left but the following failure popped up... I will try to run the analysis on an external disk
  2. Hi community, I currently have a very large .hm/.fem file which I want to use in optistruct. The file has millions of elements (3D) due to a very complex shape. Although I do have a very powerful PC (190GB RAM, 2TB disk space etc.), I got the following error msg: Since I wasn't sure if I hadn't enough RAM, I have started the analysis with the following options: Unfortunately my run is active for more than 1 day and I have no idea, how to accelerate that analysis.... Do you have any inputs for accelerating simulations in optistruct? Thank you in advance. BR
  3. Alright, tnx. It crashed and I tried to "rescue" the bckup file but it's ok. I started it again, from the beginning.
  4. Hi guys, my hypermesh (14.0) crashed and generated a backup file called "bckup0.hm" file. Do you have an idea how to restore that file or handle "bckup0.hm"? BR
  5. Hi Prakash, thank you for your quick reply. The strength ratio (SRCOMPS) is defined as 1/(Failure index) for max. strn criteria. I've just checked the composite strength (strength ratio) by dividing 1 by the failure index as described in SRCOPMS and the value was correct. I was a bit confused due to the new denotation. Regards
  6. Hi, i have some difficulties regarding composite pre-processing. For my composite analysis (a basic rectangle plate with tension and bending load) I made following requests: CFAILURE (h3d,NDIV=1) = ALL in CASE_UNSUPPORTED_CARDS (for max strn failure criteria or let's say a specified failure criteria) CSTRAIN and CSTRESS (FORMAT: H3D) SRCOMPS (VALUE: YES) for the strength ratio In HyperView, I can't see my SR-results. The results i get by the listed requests are: Composite Failure (should be design load/allowable load; am I right?) Composite Strains Composite Stresses Composite Strength => Is this the strength ratio? Best regards

Hi, I'm currently learning some optimization tools and there is one required step, which I can't find on Hypermesh: I need a specific manufacturable ply thickness, which normally should pop-up in the card image when "PLYTHK" is chosen but it is not there. Only the fields "PTMIN, PTMAX, PTOPT, PTSET and PTEXC" can be found on the card image. Do you know, how to find "PTMAN" in another way? I am working with HW12 btw. Thank you. Best regards
  8. Yea, I've chosen CWELD elements. How is a spot weld modelling with an Hexa-Element possible?
  9. Hi, I've tried to connect some parts with spot weld elements in HM. The mesh around these spots is very fine, 0.5mm, but the spot weld has a diameter of 2.5mm. After the analysis, the stress peak is always on the element, wich is connected with the spot weld element but normally, since the weld diameter is 5 times larger than the element's edge length, also the adjacent elements should be directly connected to the weld element. Am I right with this idea? Regards
  10. Hi Mario, thank you for your reply. The steps you have described in your post were also fulfilled by me. I've also selected only one element. The rest of the blue elements, in my case, have also no results but they are always shown in blue. When I switch to wireframe view, than only the selected element is colored, every other element is shown in "neutral", grey.
  11. Hi, I'm trying to evaluate my results and therefore I've switched to vonMises. I've tried to show show only the vonMises-stress on some specific elements but everytime I do it, the upper side of all components are also shown in blue but without any results. THere is also a screenshot of it and this is the case on every component, which had been analyzed. Does anyone have an idea why this appears? I'm thankfull for every advice. Btw: it's HW12 on Win8, 64bit Regards PS: As an example, as shown in the attached picture, on the bottom left side at the components, only 1 element was choosen vor the result but as you can see, almost every element from the upper side is also shown in blue.
  12. Hi, I'm trying to solve a big modell with a 64bit windows laptop, 2* i7 cpu and 8gb ram in radioss bulkdata. I have 20 loadcases but 10 of them are buckling analysis and therefore the calculation is running for approx. 4 days now. In the task manager, I've seen that ony 2% of the cpu is in use but 5GB of RAM because before starting the calculation, I've entered 5000 for the memory options-upper limit. My question is know, if it is possible to accelerate the calculation by using more cpu or ram or both? Btw. sind a few days, always the same .rs~ files are created and delated (something_s53.rs~ and something_s57.rs~ )
