  1. Hi Sumit, the meshing requirements for Hot stamping process is same as for cold forming. Make sure you mesh the blank with quads only mesh. all the features in the tools have to be captures well. Attached is the video for set up of hot forming. Just drag and drop teh attached file to any web browser. it should play automatically. Hot_stamping.swf

  3. hi, What do you mean by air v-bending? you are looking for regular V-bending simulation of sheet metal using form tools or v-bending using vacuum.
  4. you can import the T01 file in HyperGraph and plot interface/INTER/ for Y-type, Punch-Blank interface for Y-Request and FNZ-normal for Y-Component in Build plots panel.
  5. If you reverse (rotate) the tools, you can use Crash form set up with out the binder. For single action you will need binder.
  6. are you referring to exporting the final step of animation in step format. or export the video only for final step. you can use the animation start and stop slider to control the animation. the exported Avi file will only have the steps you have requested for.
  7. Hi, Are you referring to any tutorial for this model? if so it will have details of the lengths of different components in the model. Else you need to measure the individual components and organize them.
  8. hi, From the tutorial first follow only the step 6 to generate the tools. there after follow the steps in the attached video to continue with the set up. Forming_setup.wmv
  9. the first 2 files are input files for the Radioss solver. 000.rad file contains all FE data, 001.rad file contains the control cards and analysis runtime cards. .rst file is restart file. quite rarely used. T01 file is Time history file. Tool blank contact forces and reaction forces are available in the file. .sty is a old format of .sta. no Longer in use.
  10. how are you comparing the springback. by positioning the previous step results component on after springback analysis component?
  11. it is in Radians. you need to convert it to degrees.
  12. hi Sachin, you can use the 000.rad file before the springback and .sta file generated after inspiring back in HF to compare the results. Go to Tools>> Springback comparison. choose the .rad file as reference part. refer the attached file for steps. sprinback_results.wmv
  13. Hi, spring back is function of your material properties. Make sure the material stress strain curve is same as the test material. also the strain hardness coeff (n) has to be same. for more accurate springback prediction use the constrains or SPC method instead of Automatic mode. this will also help you position the part while part coamprision.
  14. yes you can comapre it with max elongation of the material. The max elongation is generally derived from testing done by the material supplier. if your % thinning is less than the max elongation results from material testing, the component is safe. as mentioned for manufacturing FLD plot is relevant. However for crash analysis %thinning or thickness results are important.
