  1. Global Response Search Method (GRSM) & Multi - Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) is used for multiobjective optimization in HyperStudy.You could find more info in online help under optimization method section.

All Optimization disciplines using nonlinear solution with contact only has been supported in OS for a long time.In V2018, nonlinear responses have been added.Contact pressure and contact force from both S2S and N2S contacts can now be used as a response (DRESP1) in optimization formulation.   4. If you are a commercial customer then please upgrade to HW Desktop 2019.1 (hotfix is 2019.1.1)and for solvers OptiStruct 2019.1 (hotfix is 2019.1.1)
  5. As mentioned above this is available with OptiStruct 2019.1 version. In OptiStruct the MATVE bulk data entry defines the material properties for Viscoelastic materials. MATVE is only supported for Small displacement nonlinear static and transient analysis.& Solid elements both first and second order (CHEXA,CTETRA,CPENTA,CPYRA) are currently supported.Let me know if you need the demo file for same.

    Tabled1 in OptiStruct is to defines a tabular function for use in generating frequency-dependent and time-dependent dynamic loads.
  12. DEQUATION needs to be referenced to DRESP2. Here is an example. $ DRESP1 1 R1 STRESS ELEM SVM3 1 DRESP1 2 R2 STRESS PSHELL SVM4 1 DRESP2 3 MA 1 + DRESP1L 4 0 + DRESP1L 2 2 DRESP1 4 vol VOLUME DEQATN 1 f(a,b)=a+b $ Please check your OS solver deck. Hope it helps.
  13. Could you please share the .out file of the run? Also if RBE3s in the models that is causing the issues then remove and replace it with RBE2s.
  14. Responses defined in DRESP2 can be used as design objectives or constraints. Please refer attached document for same. DRESP2_and_DRESP3.pdf
  15. The sensitivity is available for retained response. You can use DSCREEN to retain the responses. See the user’s guide for Gradient-based Optimization Method. Gradient Based.pdf
  16. Radiation heat transfer is not yet supported in OptiStruct.You could check for Altair Radioss & Altair AcuSolve for such cases.

  18. Could you pleas make sure to keep elements that are part of the optimization design-space must have a separate property card from the non-design elements.

  23. Are you using Student Edition or Full version?

When saving runs from HyperStudy in FluxMotor catalog, the name of the HyperStudy approach is used in the motor name, and since HyperStudy 2019.1 version, this approach name can contain dash, which is a forbidden character in motor names, causing a failure when the motor is saved in the catalog dedicated to the current optimization project.This seems to be an issue and may get resolved in upcoming version of Fluxmotor. If it too urgent then I would recommend you to use HyperStudy 2019 to bypass this issue.
  25. I don't think this is error.If it is error, then it would have listed out with some message in the status bar. Note: Its always recommended to use the latest version(For 2017version the latest patch was 2017.3 and for current version 2019 the latest patch is 2019.1)
