    Hello @lanwujiu,
    Greetings!!!

Whenever I face the similar situation like yours- I try to create a new component, and then duplicate all the displayed surfaces into the new component.

Next, turn off the geometry of old component. And since, new component - has only surfaces- you can easily delete  the surfaces which you would like to.

Let us know, it it works, and if you find a better solution - do share with us - as there are multiple ways to address this.

    Thanks & Warm Regards,

    Hello @Jegan
    Greetings!!!

The check option in AutoMesh option, goes away when you use the return option.

In order to use the checks in Automesh - you need to change the desired quality values( A/P, Angles,...etc) , and then go back to density (first radio button) - if the elements are highlighted with red color, then those elements are failing to follow the defined quality criteria.

    Hello,

This feature of selecting a fixed point on the fly by selecting a line is not available from 14.0.

For this exercise there is a workaround.
First go to "Geom>>point edit" and create a point on the line to which you want to shift the surface to.

Then go to "Geom>>midsurface>>final edit tools>>assign target"
Select the triangular surface to move, then select the both points.

    Hope this helps.

    Thankyou

    Hello everybody
This is a script to project nodes on elems:
< a simple script so i do not make package index & installer, you have to source it or invoke menu File>Run>Tcl/Tk Script
    ProjectNodesToElems.tcl

I made a new function for Hypermesh to export entity by right-click on model browser
    MenuExportDeck.zip
Open Hypermesh, from menu File>Run>Tcl/Tk Script , browse to Installer.tcl in folder MenuExportDeck to install it in hmcustom.tcl

    hmcp.zip  <updated for HM2017> + <update installer.tcl to install in any folder>
Please announce me if any error.

    - "Extract here" package hmcp.zip, copy the folder "hmcp" to anywhere you want to store.
    - Open hypermesh and run Installer.tcl file by enter menu File>Run >Tcl/Tk Script
    - start Hypermesh, it should shows an icon and provide some information like below:

    - You can copy elements selected in any current panel:

  13. akshaysp.09 liked a post in a topic by Rahul Ponginan in convert a STL mesh file into solid part
STL files can be imported into HyperMesh, You need to use File > Import > File type > STL and then choose the file.
Once the STL file has been imported you can then use Geom > surfaces from FE and select the highest complexity in this panel > select the elements to create surfaces from STL, hence you can create geometry from stl.

To directly solid mesh your STL use ShrinkWrap
You can achieve a good tetramesh for all purposes, using the Shrink Wrap panel. The shrink wrap can generally be used as a quick mechanism to generate solid meshes.
    1. Go to 2D > Shrink Wrap panel.
    2. Here there is an option generate solid mesh – this will produce an all-hexa or all-tetra mesh based on the selected elements or geometry.
    3. Make sure the generate solid mesh checkbox is active
    4. This will expose a tet collapse input, please try several input values depending on your quality requirements.

    Hello Pohan,

To create the a circular surface using spin option,  you need to a rotate a line with a pivot point and the surface generated is controlled by angles.
Also, make sure your visualization is shaded.

    Hello Hao,

    For Re volute Joint Definition,

From  the error message, you can understand Node 1 and Node 2 in your model , does not have same spatial coordinates.

Try to update the coordinate with NODE 1 or create the temporary (or duplicate) node of NODE 1.

    This should work.

You were correct, I had some preserved nodes in my model. I converted them into temp nodes and cleared them. And it worked.

You can even use the basic option Auto-mesh in 2 D panel, with the desired the element size. Also, make sure that, in the sub panel of Auto-mesh ,select the options as shown in the attached image.

But, do learn the reason for choosing those particular options.

    Hi,
Based on the type of analysis we do meshing....
Crash analysis: adding trias for better mesh flow since minimum element size is the major criteria with other element quality check.
Structural analysis:Avoid tria near critical region or near to boundary condition.

In hypermesh we have automesh command with mesh type set to quad would help you to generate dominant no of quad elwment..
Quad only type is also available but it may lead to get worst element quality.only for specific type of analysis like axisymmetric analysis, where only quad are needed.

Overall for good meshing best command in hypermesh is automesh with proper splitting of parts using quick edit and remeshing option for proper flow.
Ruled ,spline ,skin ,drag command would help you to get good mesh.

Hence type of analysis is important before meshing.Good meshing is something which will come with experience.

We recommend you to download FEA guide from Altair university which is available for student for detailed information.

    Regards
    Rahul R

    Hello,

    Greetings!!!

    I'm a beginner in HyperMesh.

I am trying to perform shell meshing on the one of the tutorial file 2_holes.hm .

I have followed the following steps:

    i. Created the mid-surface.

ii. Created the washer around the two holes.

iii. Divided into whole surface into two parts.

    But,I couldn't get a nice mesh flow.

In general, how to perform the meshing,is it always performing the automesh, and then varying the mesh density.

I would really appreciate,if anyone could provide me an insight about these.

    Thanks & Warm Regards,
