  1. Thanks Tinh, anyone knows about a list of the configuration types in hypermesh and its translation into Abaqus? example: Hypermesh Abaqus *elementype 103 4 (M3D3) -----> S4
  2. Hi fellows, I'm coding a tcl script, but got stalled because i don't know how to get which element types are in a particular collector/component. I mean, i need a command to get the info to know the element type that have a collector. For example, select the collector id1 and get a list with (C3D4, M3D3) if id1 has these element types. Thank you
  3. save your first set of nodes in mark 1, just an example *createmark 1 nodes "by collectorname" theCollectorYouWant Now select the nodes you want to remove from set in mark 1 *createmark 2 nodes "by cone" set cone parameters that match your angle parameters and then, another code line: *markdifference nodes 1 nodes 2 Now you have in mark 1 your nodes but these nodes you wanted to deselect regards, drwill
  4. i found it: need to use batch mode writing: [HM's path] hmbatch –tcl<filename> no need to write *quit then Thank you Tinh, you always have a good answer. Best Hypermesh user i ever known
  5. *createmark surfs 1 all; *interactiveremeshsurf 1 $elemensize 2 2 2 1 1 *set_meshfaceparams 0 5 2 0 0 1 0.5 1 1 *automesh 0 5 2 *stroremeshtodatabase 1 *ameshclearsurface *clearmark surfs 1; If you want to mesh all the surfaces, you can also do it without any loop but if you want to mesh only selected surf, NGUYEN's solution is the best
  6. Had the same problem, i fixed it with a VBA macro for Excel which sorts the nsets and later with a Matlab programm which import and sorts automathic
  7. HI fellows, i have a cool script which creates a parametric model and export a .inp. I was wondering how my colleagues could run the script outside Hypermesh. I mean, i want them to run the script from cmd.exe of Windows system , no need to open Hypermesh interface but only from MSDOS windows. Is it possible? Thank you all
  8. Hiya Dilip, try this: 1) Select the nodes you want to connect by *createmark i usually select them by *createmark nodes 1 "by cylinder" ....then type the cylinder parameters as it's explained in help. 2)Write this: *rbe3 1 dof_size independent_weights weight_size dependent_node dof weight TYPE HyperMesh Tcl Modify DESCRIPTION mark_id The ID of the mark containing the independent nodes. Valid values are 1 and 2. independent_dofs The ID of the integer array containing the degrees of freedom for which each respective independent node of the element is active (any of the digits 1-6), created using *createarray. Must be set to 1. dof_size The size of the independent_dofs array. independent_weights The ID of the double array containing the weight for each respective independent node, created using *createdoublearray. Must be set to 1. weight_size The size of the independent_weights array. dependent_node The dependent node of the element. If set to 0, the dependent node will be auto-created at the centroid of the independent nodes. dof The degree of freedom code for which the dependent node of the element is active (any of the digits 1-6) weight The weight assigned to the dependent node. EXAMPLE To create an RBE3 element with dependent node 100 and independent nodes 101, 102, and 103 with all of the nodes having all six degrees of freedom and a weight of 1.23: *createmark nodes 1 101 102 103 *createarray 3 123456 123456 123456 *createdoublearray 3 1.230000 1.230000 1.230000 *rbe3 1 1 3 1 3 100 123456 1.23 hope it helps
  9. You are right Tinh, you definitely rock +1
  10. something like if i had: a=[1, 2, 3, 4, 5] b=[3, 4, 5, 6, 7] solution is c=[6, 7] because i just want the "b" elements which doesn't exist in "a"
  11. Hi fellows, I'm creating a parametric macro which makes and mesh a bearing in an automatic way. I must add some kinematic coupling to model the balls contact so i need to select several nodes. those nodes are not easy to select. First of all, i've selected those elements linked with this surface (Figure 1) chosen nodes are the tagged ones. I just want to select the inner nodes so i've been thinking about creating another set of nodes by : *createmark nodes 1 "by sphere" $xball 0 $zball $circlemesh boundary 1 1 0 xball 0 zball are the ball centre corrdinates circlemesh is the radius ro the outer circle which contains the undesired nodes. So now i have 2 sets of nodes: undesired: 488187 488386 488385 488376 488375 488374 488373 488372 488368 488336 488335 488334 488325 488324 488323 488322 488321 488317 488285 488284 488283 488274 488273 488272 488271 488270 488269 488266 488234 488202 488199 488198 488197 488196 488195 488194 488184 488183 and sector: 488187 488198 488197 488196 488195 488194 488193 488192 488191 488190 488189 488188 488185 488184 I was wondering about a function that removes the repeated nodes in a new set so it just remain these nodes: 488188 488193 488192 488191 488190 488189 488185 Thank you HW fellows
  12. Hi everybody, I'm programming a macro which attempts to build a bearing. I try to drag some elements in TCL but don't know how. If i create faces and drag them in hypermesh and copy the command.cmf lines to the script, macro selects the ID faces. I can't do it in this way because if I change the geometry probably ID faces may change too. Anyone know what to do?
