    I found a better method, since data name of element updated from new hm versions, you can get elem name by:
    *createmark elems 1 "by comp id" $CompId set ElemNames [hm_getmarkvalue elems 1 typename 1] set TypeList [lsort -unique $ElemNames] puts $TypeList

    Had the same problem, i fixed it with a VBA macro for Excel which sorts the nsets and later with a Matlab programm which import and sorts automathic

    i found it:
    need to use batch mode writing:
    [HM's path] hmbatch –tcl<filename>
    no need to write *quit then

    I don't remember option to start hypermesh without GUI
    but if you don't want to see it. in your cool script, add below command at beginning:
    wm withdraw .
    <your script commands>
    #quit hypermesh if no need to save hm file:
    destroy .
     
    so try start your session from cmd:
    <altairhome>\hm\bin\win64\hmopengl -tcl <your script file path>

    use *markdifference nodes 1 nodes 2
    will select nodes that belong to mark#1 but not mark#2, then store those nodes again to mark#1 (use hm_getmark nodes 1 to get them)

    hm always select faces by ID, so you must do by that way 
    just after create faces, get its ID by : set face_id [hm_latestentityid surfs 0]
