  2. Hello everyone, can anyone tell me the deviation percentage in stress results between optistruct and Abaqus results?. I have compared the results for static analysis and was shocked to see the difference between the solvers stress results of about 9%. Eventhough both the solver results are an approximation, deviation of about 9% is huge. When I compared the P1 Major strains the results were almost similar but results in VonMises stresses gave me a huge difference. Does anyone observed the similar difference in the results. If yes what might be the reasons?. (I have also used the same mesh in both the solvers). Regards, Punith Gupta

Hello everyone, I'm working on linear static analysis and I would like to know if there is an option in hyperworks to interpolate the solution obtained from the global model onto the boundary of a locally refined mesh of the same model? I mean to say that after obtaining the result with coarse mesh, can we use this solution and interpolate this solution onto the boundary of locally refined mesh of the same model?.   7. Hi Rahul, thanks for replying back. Actually I'm working on wheels, I have a set of simulations for linear and non linear quasi static analysis. I just want to set the control cards for elemental stress, strain, contact force, no elemnt check, screen, and units.   9. Hello, i am working with the optimization of the wheel disc. I have non design space weight as 7.14 kg and design space weight as 26 kg. I used mass constraint and had set the upperbound to 0.0035 (3.5 kg) and weighted compliance as my response. How ever when i used ISO with 0.3 the end weight of the design space came out as 4.7 kg. How does mass constraint works? can anyone please solve this concern. Moreover when i look the mass response graph it is showing almost the same value throughout the iteration. I have attched my output file, mass and compliance responce. Please explain me how mass constraint actually works? If mass value is same throughout my iterations, then how my stifness is reducing for both load cases? Thanking you Punith Guptha 2920774.out
  10. Hello, I am working on wheel disc optimization, how can I set my stiffness constraint without using the displacement constraint? For example, I have a existing model with the displacement 0.3 mm and now I defined a new design space but would like to have the same stiffness as before. So how can I set it? Also please tell me about (Objective reference > Compliance > Pos reference). secondly please tell me how to run a batch optimization? Regards, Punith Guptha

  12. Hello, how can I see the convergence criteria in optistruct output file? Is there any control card to set that.? Also I am running a topology optimisation of the wheel disc. I have taken a static analysis and I have a load case where there is a load acting in only one direction. In the analysis I have the max stresses in the applied direction only, ie at only one ventilation hole edge. So while moving to optimisation how can I set this stress distribution throughout 360 degree of the disc? Can I use extrusion constraint and define a node path in a circular direction? I already used it but wanted to make sure if this is the right way. Thanks, Punith Guptha

  15. Hi, can you also please tell me how does a hexahedral element interpolates the value. Does it interpolate at the center of the element?. Because I see the change in the result when I increase the number of layers in the thickness direction. Secondly, can you please tell me what is the typical aspect ratio that can be used for good results. I know that best is 1, but what is the max allowable aspect ratio? Regards, Punith Guptha

  17. Hello, I have version 14 and when I run a simulation I see that only 50% of my CPU performance is utilised. I have 32 core processor and I use all of them and when it reaches 50% it is making a huge noise in the CPU. Usually this should not be the case, it has to go above 90% performance. I also attached a screen shot please look to that.   18. Hi Prakash, thank you for the reply. I have a problem in creating RB2 elements. Its showing that the maximum number of RB2 elements that I can use only is 10000. I have 11000 dependent nodes. How can I proceed further. Thank you in advance.
