  1. Hyperworks can export a working file format. Thats why I asked here. I wanted to know if somebody knows, what the difference between my files and the format exported from Hyperworks, cause I can't find any.
  2. Hello, I am working on my bachelorthesis right now. At my university we use "LMS VirtualLab", which works fine with the Altair PUNCH-File format. In order to get my final results I need to imitate the .pch-file format after doing a fft in Matlab on my results (which were calculated by RecurDyn). I achieved to get a file format that looks exactly the same as the one that can be written from HyperWorks. Still it does only work with LMS VirtualLab if I open it in "Notepad++" and save it with a different name, without changing anything else. I defined it already to be UTF-8, but it did not solve my Problem. Can anybody tell me what I fail to see? Both files are attached: punch.pch is the file which is not working, punch2.pch is the working one. Kind regards Konstantin Heiss punch.pch punch2.pch

  4. Hello, when I do my optimization now, I get strange results. I really don't know where my fault is. Another problem is, that I don't want to lose the no-material plies (see also: http://forum.altairhyperworks.com/index.php?/topic/18205-interface-laminate-error-640/#comment-35811 Because, when I optimize now, I only can constrain the balance between 45°- and -45°-plies. But it is important, that the plies with no real material and the ones with CFK-Material have the same thickness, so that it doesn't change the midsurface. How can I realize that? Because in the picture above, I have hidden the no-material plies. the plies changed their midsurf and the diameter of my model went bigger, which is not allowed. My other question is, how can I realize the plies to be continuously around the cylinder? I tried it with cyclic pattern grouping, but I am not sure if I used it right. For further explanations please ask. Thank you, Konstantin Felgenbett_Heiss1.hm
  5. Hello Prakash Pagaladala, I want my model to look like this in the end: In the middle you can see the dark blue ply. It's only on the flange, whereas the other ones are coming from the left and the right side and continue on the flange. For all faces I want only one laminate. The only way I knew to realize this, was with an interface laminate. Like in the example of a T-Junction, I needed a third subliminate, which has no real material, thats why the material entries are zero there. This is an image of all plies, also with the plies, that have no material. The outer six plies (as you can compare with the other picture) are the plies, that were only needed to set the interface definition. The sublaminate called "Innen" is the left part, the sublaminate "Aussen" is the right part. "Hilfsschichten" is the laminate with no real material.
  6. Hello, when I run thee analysis on my model, I get the message: ************************************************************************ A fatal error has been detected during input processing: *** ERROR # 640 *** STACK 1 is incorrectly or ambiguously defined. This could be due to disconnected substacks, duplicate interfaces or inconsistent interfaces orientations. Please verify the substacks and interfaces thoroughly. ************************************************************************ ==== End of solver screen output ==== ==== Job completed ==== In my model I got six plies called that have no material real material (material with parameters = 0), I just used them to create an Interface laminate and to connect the plies in a proper way. If needed, I can also translate the notations into english if needed. Felgenbett_Heiss.hm
  7. Hi, I just wanted to say, that I had the same Error 640 in my model. I had to define my Interface as "STACK", which I didn't do before. Afterwards, I had click "realize". Kind regards Konstantin Heiss
  8. Hello again, since I have not received any answer, I have to repost this. I got a problem with my plies. I got a flange in my model where two face meet each other and combine to one. I want to use only one laminate, but I don't know how I can realize it. As you see in the picture, the plies are stacked only in direction of the normal. I got three faces, which I combined to sets: Inside (left side of the picture), outside (right side of the picture) and the flange. As elements for the plies I chose inside + flange on one hand, on the otherside I chose outside + flange meaning the flange should have the exact same structure as the inside and outside face, there should only be a 90 degree ply (dark blue) dividing them. I only want to use one laminate and one property. Is there any possibility to realize that? I tried to change it with the normals and z0 options, but it did not work. I hope I could explain it in an understandable way. If you need any other informations, please ask. Kind regards, Konstantin Heiss

  10. Hi Prakash Pagadala, thanks for the fast answer, I ordered a new license.
  11. Hello, in the past few weeks I had HyperWorks 13.0 installed. Today I installed the new version. When I open the program, there is an Error coming up which says: Altair License Manager: License error Feature: GlobalZoneEU Error Code: 9 Error Description: [LOCAL] C:/Program Files/Altair/14.0-edu/security/altair_lic.dat - (Err: 9) Feature not found Feature: HyperMesh Error Code: 9 Error Description: [LOCAL] C:/Program Files/Altair/14.0-edu/security/altair_lic.dat - (Err: 9) Feature not found License Path: C:/Program Files/Altair/14.0-edu/security/altair_lic.dat I copied the same license that I had for 13.0 in the folder of the version 14.0. Do I have to go to the shop and "buy" another one? What else do I have to do? I also unistalled the version 13.0. Please help me!
