  1. Hi ! I have a structure with bolted joints. I have to simulate the strength of the bolt. First I have applied the Pretension Load. Then I have applied the working load to the structure in the next step. My objective is to verify the bolt force is not going above the yield load of the bolt. I tried this with bolt section force, but it is very much equal to the pretension force. No increase in the section force after applying the working load. Is there any other way to investigate the bolts? TIA, Subhu
  2. Hi All, I am doing a Investigation on a bolted joint in Abaqus. I have applied bolt pretension in One Load step and applied some external load on the next step. The steps are continuous an I have requested the section forces as output. As a result, I have section force in bolt equal to the applied pretension Force in first Load step. This is Okay. But, even on the end of second Load step, the section force remains the same which is almost equal to the Pretension value. On the other hand, the stress in the bolt is increasing. Does anyone have any idea regarding this? Thanks.

  5. Hi Hyperman and All, Actually I am working on an agri-equipment and planning to investigate on it's fatigue behavior. It is an assembly/mechanism operated around 1500 rpm. I am eager to know whether there will be difference in loads extracted between rigid body analysis and flexible body analysis? Regards, Subhu

  7. Thanks george, I have also applied Ikrem=0, still there is a warning for Incompatible Kinematic error. How can i define Rwall and Ground interface.
  8. Hi, I am working in crash, while running starter in radioss it is adviced to run without any incompatible kinematic condition warning. But in my model it shows there was an incompatible kinematic conditions in the model. Mainly it shows this error in RWALL & GROUND Interface. How to rectify it ?? Is there any solution for this.   10. HI all, As like mass addition, Is it possible to remove mass uniformly?? I am Increasing the time step, which results in mass addition. and thus kinetic energy is increased. It reulted in larger intrusion. Since I need some very approx result immediately , I need to reduce the actual structural mass and have to run it again. Is it possible remove or reduce the structural mass uniformly??? Thanks in ADvance
