  2. When defining your cast part, click on the material icon Then go to the My Materials tab to create your won material.

Uri, If you import your filter from the CAD, you can use its real shape: Inside the housing (diameter filter < diameter channel): not the best solution because the metal can by-pass the filter Exactly with hosing walls (diameter filter = diameter channel): the best solution Outside housing walls (diameter filter > diameter channel): the metal is slowed down as the filter is filled first and once it is saturated the metal can flow.   4. The latest version is Inspire 2019.0.1 and we improved graphics a lot. Usage of VMWare can also be an issue for graphics bugs during picking. Unfortunately this is not supported on MAC and will require that you switch to a Windows machine.

  7. Click2Cast used STL files. Inspire Cast is a different interface with much more functionalities that works with geometry. I hope this helps.
  8. Inspire Cast needs a geometry to setup a problem. Since STL is not geometry but mesh, Inspire Cast pops up the window so that you can import a geometry to work on.

  10. Hello, Something is wrong in your setup that causes the solver to take a very long time to converge. On my machine it takes 5 minutes to solve on 4 cores. Thanks, Matthieu

Hello, This is most likely due to the same kind of problems you have with your other meshing error and I would recommend the same methodology: Run Part only for solidification Add cores and run for solidification Add risers and run for solidification Add sleeves and run for solidification Add chillers and run for solidification Add Running systems and run for solidification Add Gate and run for filling By going progressively you can find out which component is creating the issue. Then the issue can come from either bad geometry itself or interface between components i.e. small gaps between components that cause the mesh to fail for the mold. Thanks, Matthieu
  12. Meshing errors are usually due to issues in geometry. Here is the process to find which geometry needs to be corrected: Run Part only for solidification Add cores and run for solidification Add risers and run for solidification Add sleeves and run for solidification Add chillers and run for solidification Add Running systems and run for solidification Add Gate and run for filling By going progressively you can find out which component is creating the issue. Then the issue can come from either bad geometry itself or interface between components i.e. small gaps between components that cause the mesh to fail for the mold.
  13. Hello, Solving time will depend on many parameters such as complexity of the geometry, element size chosen, velocity (could make the solver converge slower), casting process, ... Which tutorial model are you using and how much time does it take? Thanks, Matthieu
  14. The pahse change point is typically placed at the end of the runner, before the material reached the part. The piston starts to push the metal with low velocity (1st velocity) in order to avoid turbulence and formation of bubbles. Before the material enters into the part, the velocity changes (2nd velocity) and the piston push very fast the material to fill the full cavity. You can use Inspire Cast to experiment various positions of the point and see the impact on the quality of your part.
