Hello, I have a Model with 2 Load Steps. I applied a force just in one direction with differnet magnitude . For load step 1 =4000N and for load step 2= 10000N. (I do not use CNTNLSUB) I wonder, why the force vs. displacement curve is not equal for both load steps until 4000N. So the stresse are actually also not equal at the same force magnitude. Do somebody has an idea? Attached a Diagram of the 2 curves (force vs displacement), and the model files .fem and .h3d kleines_Loch__plastisch.h3d

Does Optistruct follow in default the "Penalty method" for contact formulation? And is it possible to change it to "Augmented Lagrange" or "Pure Lagrange"?

Hello, I tried without friction but it doesn't help If I use LGDISP the optistruct changes to radioss and i get problems with the interface type2. ( master nodes and slave nodes are dependent on each other) It's because I used Freeze contact for connecting different fine meshes. I read something about SpotFlag= 25 in TYPE2 . That is not available in Optistruct, right? What is the easiest way to solve the problem?

Sorry, I am not sure what u mean with "contrains rotation of rivet". The rivet is a solid how shall i put contrains rotation? If I apply a constrain at a node of the rivet (DOF 2) that the rivet can just move x and z it doesnt help me, because later I want to apply also forces in other direction. Thats why i thought gap elements working, but somehow not with my current settings. Any idea?

Yes you are right. There is a rotational displacement, but i don't understand why. Is it somehow possible to avoid it?

Hey, I tried to do to NL elastic Simulation. (followed the steps from the video https://altairuniversity.com/analysis/structural/nonlinear/nlstat-tutorial-pressure-load-on-a-chair/) but I don't get convergence. The model works actually with elastic material law. So I don't know what I have to change. Can someone have a look, please?) Furthermore, I just have the "yield strength", "ultimate strength" and "elongation at break". so actually it would be enough to put a bilinear material law. is that somehow possible or is there just the way with the table?

Hello, I want to simulate a rivet Joint just applied shear force. Between the rivet and the hole in the metal Sheets is a gap. I get convergence but the rivet turns a Little. u can see it if u watch the displacement Contour plot on the rivet which is not symmetric. Is that because of the coarse mesh? I tried to use gap elements but maybe i put some wrong Setting. attachted are the model. Can anybody help me to fix the Problem? rivet_joint.zip
