  3. Hello, I'm using PCOMP to model my composite structure, I wanted to know that which theory does it use to solve?. Is it possible to change the theory from CLT, to first order shear deformation, or higher order shear deformation?
  4. Yes, if 0 is one of the value which ply can take as thickness then it will take it.. minimizing the mass. Also takes thickness which can be manufacturerale which is specified by the user.
  5. By changing the Mode of DV in Define Input variable>Details from continuous to discrete, one can give sets of the number which that design variable can take, like 0, and 0.2 for ply thickness, and the integer for ply angle.

    I was working with hyperstudy, and due to somethings, my hyperstudy interface has changed completely, I'm not able to change it back, I even restore my laptop to a point where the HS was working fine.

    Can you help me out!

      I got the solution for this, it went to full-screen mode, and I changed it using F11.

  7. I did it I was using PCOMPP, so thats why my design variable were not showing up, then i read and changed it to PCOMP. Thanks.
  8. Hello, How can I make the number of plies as the variable rather than the thickness of the ply, since the ply thickness has to be 0.2 mm, and the number of layers can change. And I see that there is nothing like manufacturing thickness when I connect HyperWorks to HyperStudy. I'm using GA as solving algorithm. Thank you.
  9. Hello, I'm importing a .hm file to the HyperStydy which is a composite model. But I'm not able to import variable other than Material and Moment. Can you point out where I might be going wrong?

  11. I'm planning to use HyperStudy for multi objective Optimization of laminated composite structure, and I wanted to know it is possible to make orientation of ply as one of the design variable? I want optimum angle for ply, for the given load condition, rather than sticking with the angle given by user. Thank you.
  12. Thank you, sir. I also wanted to know how to constrain the free sizing optimized ply thickness to be more than 0.2mm as this is what we can manufacture, I'm using ply 45 and -45 and minimize Mass, and ending up with laminate as shown in the photo.
  13. Im getting the following error when i tried to put composite shaft with constrains Mass, and Composite Failure Upperbound 1. The Objective Function is Min Compliance. *** ERROR # 1807 *** Composite failure responses are applied to ply 9 which belongs to a topology or free-size domain. Help needed, Thank you
