  1. Hi guys, Just wondering if there's any way to use Inspire Studio to create a VR render? I'd like to be able to import a model of a car, create a render scene, then be able to walk around the car virtually using a VR headset. Any ideas would be great!

  3. Hi guys, Just wondering if there was a tutorial or guide on how to use the depth .tiff rendering in Evolve2017 to create renders with depth of field? An older version of Evolve / SolidThinking had depth of field as part of the rendering engine, but it appears this is not the case with 2017 and you need to post process the depth of field in photoshop or similar?? A guide on how to create depth of field would be great, possibly using an open source package like GIMP. Thanks, Brett.
  4. Thanks Arjun, would be good to see it as a feature in the latest version given it was there previously. I've found a bit of a workaround by uploading models to Sketchfab, which has a VR viewing mode, but this has raised another issue. If I apply materials/textures to a model in Evolve, is there any format that I can export in that will maintain those materials? If I export .3ds there's no materials at all. If I export .obj, it creates a .mtl file but each material in the file has the same name, same properties, and if I import that .obj into any program (including Evolve), there's no materials. Any tricks to get materials into other formats??

  6. Hey guys, Can anyone give me some tips on the best way to render a tread on a tyre in Evolve? I've tried using a material with the tread as a bump map but it doesn't come out deep enough. I've also tried a displacement map but it gets very strange results even though the texture appears to be positioned correctly. I've tried a pixel map too which works ok but the tread is very coarse/jagged and it doesn't seem to have a high enough resolution. I've attached a sample file and tread texture.
