  1. Hello, Is possible use Hyperview to export/convert results to an Abaqus ODB file?
  2. Yes it should be the same, but this is the problem. I got the same results for P1(major) and Max Principal, but different results for P3(minor) and Min Principal. At time, the Mises results were equivalent in my comparison between abaqus and optistruct.
  3. My question is, what is the differences between the stress components in Optistruct and Abaqus? I mean, what is the difference between P1(major) - Optistruct and Max principal - Abaqus? The same analogy to P1(minor) and Min Principal. I ran a simulation in both softwares with same mesh and same parameters to compare, and notice that as P1(major) and Max principal(Abaqus) values are very close, but the P1(minor) and min Principal(Abaqus) is very different! Some details: It is a shell element analysis, and I set for stress calculation Gauss as location for optistruct and Integration point for Abaqus. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi, Can I use a FE results of RADIOSS simulation(i.e stress from formability) as a preload of a model in Optistruct? If yes, where can I find a tutorial or a example about it. Thanks!
  5. It did not work. I believe that if I'm simulating a shaker, I need a 'Excited load' to apply. GRAV card use a SPC constraint, so it seems that when I put the shaker profile in the TID, nothing happens, the simulation runs but no damage is calculated.
  6. Hi Prakash, What if I use a GRAV load as LCID in FATLOAD and a TABFAT in TID with the shaker profile? When you say a transient load case, it is to do a Transient modal analysis and use the RLOAD2 card with the acceleration as load(DLOAD)?
  7. Prakash, One last question: How can I split the model in 'design areas' and 'non-design areas' using plies? Is it the same way when there's only one single layer? Thanks!
  8. Hi, I'm trying to run a fatigue analysis using acceleration as load, but I don't know how to set the FATLOAD card with an acceleration load. My objective is to simulate a shacker test and verify the life and damage that the part will get when vibrates in 1G acceleration. Modal and frequency response analysis are ok, my only problem is with the fatigue analysis. If anyone knows how to proceed, please let me know. Thanks!
  9. It worked! I saw that the problem was in the 'entity type' of Topography design variable right? As soon as it was changed to STACK the optimization runs properly. Thanks Prakash, problem solved.

  11. Hello, I'm having troubles setting up a topography optimization using plies. The model is a heatshield with 3 different layers(thickness) and Im using PCOMPP card as property to them. I believe that the optimization settings are correct, because I had already used the same settings in a previous single layer model and it went ok. But when I try using stacked layers something goes wrong. Im getting the following error: *** ERROR # 79 *** DTPG data does not create any DVGRID data. There are no free referenced GRIDs. There may be no elements associated with the PSHELL data. LOAD or BOTH may be specified and all grids may be loaded. BC, SPC, or BOTH may be specified and all grids may be SPCed. Any thoughts?? If there is some paper relating modal+plies+optimization that can be provided I'll appreciate. Thanks in advance.
