  1. I have built my model in altair optistruct but i want to export it as nastran bdf file to do analysis in Nastran. However, I am not able to find contact surfaces and contact interfaces bulk data in bdf file. I dont know what's going on there.
  2. Hi @tinh, Thank you very much! basically there is a check control card. I deleted it and solver does analysis now. One more thing, since it is a for loop. what command is used to close the hwsolver after analysis is finished? Regards, Alan
  3. Hello, Before static analysis, i set system as my defined coordinate system. because i need normal stress data for the cylinder. I want to output a stress data file that shows stress data of each element in local system. But the value i got in STRS file is for global system using global_output_request control card. How do i obtain the local stress data? Regards, Alan

  7. Yeah i understand that i can change it to "E" and "rho". @Mrt but what i meat was to have E and rho with a relationship in between. assume E = 0.5 * rho. each value of rho corresponds to only one E value.
  8. Hi, I imported model from Hypermesh. For output response in setup, one response is normal stress of one part of my model. How can i choose a specific component's stress value as my output response? Thank you Alan

  14. Hello, I just started learning automation using tcl. I dont know how to read stress or strain results using tcl after static analysis in hypermesh. Because i need to have stress and strain results from each element to customize objective functions. I think i should be able to read them from h3d or res file. but i dont know how. Thank you Alan

Also, once i can run the static analysis or optimization. I want to obtain stress and strain energy density for each element. What codes are used to write such a file? Please help. Thank you Alan

  19. Hello there, I am the beginner of customization. I am wondering if i can use any code in the script to run static analysis or optimization automatically. and then import calculated stress and strain data to further calculate maybe summation or minimum value of those data? I tried to record and reuse the command from I manually run the analysis, but the program stopped after a fem is generated. It did not pop out hyperworks solver view. Basically, after i open the tcl script and input variables, it will not stop till the final result. Thank you for your help Alan
  20. I want to create a new objective function but i do not know which code should be used. For example, i want to have an objective function to minimize interface failure with an equation f = sum of normal stress * shear stress from each element. Thank you
  21. Hello, Suppose I have a hollow cylindrical shaft that I want to do static analysis. I want to study how the change of thickness and density of the shaft affect normal stress, shear stress and strain energy. Therefore, I have two variables. The outer diameter is constant, and thickness is determined by inner diameter. Is there a way to use TCL script to import the geometry first and then, based on input of the range of thickness and density, to perform the static analysis? Also, density changes young's modulus, which means I want to make it automatically change card image. At the end, i want to automatically create text files of the results for each case.
