  1. I have attached the video and screenshots of the materials that don't seem to show up after the first frame. There are no advanced settings or coatings used for these materials. ROUND STOOL.mov
  2. I have finally gotten around to working with the animations feature in Evolve 2016, and now that i have created one, the object is not rendering with the selected materials. The first frame is rendering correctly, but all objects that move in the following frames lose their materials, and render completely black. Anyone know what i am doing wrong? I am using Evolve 2016.2 6160 on an 2013 imac. thanks, tmac

  4. Jon, Here is a brief video of the steps I am taking to align points that I hope will work for you. When I drag the point in the lower (front view), I am holding the alt (option) key which makes the point snap to be in line with the point behind it. I am on a Mac using Evolve 2016. I hope this works. Align points.mov
  5. If this curve is drawn in the top view, select the point you want to move. Now in the front view drag the point over to the point you are aligning to. Hold Alt and the point you are moving will snap to be in line with the point you are aligning to.
  6. Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. The problem I am having doesn't involve using Fit to Zoom, but rather happens when simply zooming in or out while placing or moving points of a polyline or while zooming when trying to move an object. For instance, after I place the first point and want to zoom out to place the next point further away, the view will only zoom out a small amount before snapping back to a close-up of the original point. Thanks again, Tyler
  7. I am using Evolve 2015 (4940) and I have had trouble zooming in and out while objects (curves, surfaces, pretty much anything) are highlighted. It has been a problem for all releases of 2015 and is really difficult to work with. Basically, whenever I am trying to move something, or draw or move the points of a polyline, I am unable to zoom in or out on an area because the the view jumps to either the (0,0,0) point or some sort of zoom extents every time I scroll on the mouse. I am using an apple magic mouse, and while I have noticed it not working too well with some websites, I don't remember this happening on Evolve 2014. If you have any ideas on what would cause this, I would love to know. Thanks
  8. Arjun, Thanks for the response and looking into that so quickly! This is good to hear! In the meantime, we have been able to export the model as a .sat file and that will import into autoCAD. (At least in AutoCAD 2015 for Mac.) I am looking forward to this next update. On a related note, Is it possible to build an external materials library that I can just point to once I update my software? As of now, we are manually picking out all of the individual materials we have added, and adding them to the material library in the newer version. Thanks again, Tyler
  9. The company I work for uses Evolve 2015 for product design, and we are trying to figure out how to export our models in a way that would allow the factories we work with to create 2D views in AutoCAD for their build plans. We want to end up with full scale drawings, as they often times print out at full scale to create patterns. We do need the drawings to be editable and dimensional, so I don't think a PDF will work for what we need. I would have thought that exporting as a .dxf would be the way to go, but I have not had any luck reading this in autocad. Do I need to do a drawing layout in Evolve and export that somehow? If anyone knows of a way to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I have been working with 2015 for several days now to make the switch from 2014. so far everything seems pretty great, especially the rendering quality. I am having one problem though. I basically want a seamless white background with some soft directional shadows to help give the idea of a floor. I just can't seem to get the shadowcatcher to catch shadows. I have tried spot lights and a plane with "shadowcatcher" material applied, but i still can't get any shadows to show up. If i apply a white plastic material to the ground plane, I can get the shadows I am looking for, but the plane gets grey the further it is away from the lights. If I am going about this the wrong way, I could really use some help working this out.
