  1. Hi Tinh, I used Imoto's script and I now have the desired result. Thank you for your assistance, I learnt a great deal through your replies. Kind Regards, Laurence
  2. Hi Imoto, Thanks for the script! That's exactly what I was looking for. Kind Regards, Laurence
  3. Hi Tinh, I made the change you suggested. I've attached two screenshots. 1 is the output from the script when i is set to [hm_entitymaxid nodes] and 2 when i is set to 0. It seems that the script is successfully creating lines with nodes, but they are not bonded to a central node. Kind Regards, Laurence
  4. Hi HTH, Apologies for the spam of messages, I figured it out. Not to worry. Kind Regards, Laurence Maskell
  5. Hi HTH, I am attempting to trim again with similar geometry, I have got as far as my knowledge will take me, but am struggling to repeat the same result you came to. I can't create the angled trim that you produced. Kind Regards, Laurence Maskell Clevismount10.hm
  6. Hi Tinh, I run the script, open the fem file and get the error shown in the image. Nothing is imported when I import the solver deck. There are 1380 errors. I've also attached an image of the script I am currently using. Kind Regards, Laurence
  7. Hi Tinh, I made the change as you suggested but now nodes are not being found in the model (see attached). So the entities are being skipped. Kind Regards, Laurence error
  8. Hi Imoto, Yes, this allows me to create a center node, which is part of the solution. How do I now create a central node for each quad element, as well as creating lines that connect to this central node from all 8 edges? Thanks, Laurence inputfile.hm
  9. Hi Tinh, When I run the script, I get an output, but it is not what I desire. I require the lines to be connected to a central node in each quad element. This script produces many lines that are randomly connected to nodes all over the geometry, how can I alter the script so that the body centred cubic is created for each quad element? Thanks, Laurence P.S. I have attached the input and output files for your reference. inputfile.hm temp.fem
  10. Hi, I have a structure made of 3d solid map hex mesh elements, ie. primitive unit cells (see image attached). I have turned my hex mesh elements into bar2 elements. I would like to create a central node to the primitive unit cell and connect bar elements to this central node (see image attached). I know this will most likely be a TCL script problem but I'm not sure how the script would be written. I have successfully created the primitive unit cell and used config edit tool to create bar2 elements (CBEAM's) But I would now like to do this with elements connected to a central node. A comparison of what I'm attempting to do can be seen in this paper: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6265793/pdf/materials-11-02073.pdf I look forward to hearing from the community, Kind Regards, Laurence

  12. PLEASE IGNORE THIS. Was having a minor lapse of thought.
  13. Hi, I have been using the 3D mesh options in Hypermesh but I'm not sure if this is the correct option. I have a question regarding the 3D solid map > one volume mesh. Does this mesh create elements inside of the geometry. I.e. my aim is to create internal quad elements in geometry, how can I achieve this within Hypermesh Kind Regards, Laurence
  14. Hi, I have a model that contains many 1D beams. In hypermesh, it is possible to view 1d elements as "1D traditional and detailed element representation". Is it possible to do this in Hyperview? Kind Regards, Laurence
