  1. Can anyone please tell me the difference between constraints vs contact vs connection ?
  2. In an easy way, we can create a penta mesh here. 1) At one end, create a tria element (2d). 2) Then at the other end, create tria shaped line (destination for ending the tria elem)using line tool. 3) Now go to 3D panel-> Solid Map -> general 4) Select the tria elem as a source element and select the tria shaped line as a destination geom. Then give the along element nodes as a along geom. 5) Then click the create button for creating penta mesh. note: Incase if you're having existing 3d elements, then take a faces of those element. Instead of nodes, you can also give the 2d face elements as a along geom.
  3. Without seeing the geometry, we cant't confirm the model can be done via HEXA. If geometry is too complex, then we need to opt for tetra. So kindly share the geometry.
  4. Hi, Generally capturing all the features in the rubber component is very difficult one, due to its shape. Mostly, for a rubber components... need to capture exactly the center of fillet or within fillet we need to maintain min.2 layers based on element size with respect to analysis engineer requirement. Even sometimes we need to compromise the fillet itself for doing hexa-meshing. If you need to capture all the features in the component, you can't execute the model through by hexameshing (Because of its nature and complex type in meshing). So kindly proceed via tetrameshing. Kindly share your model with your requirements, i will try to help you in hexameshing. Regards, Saravanan R
  5. i was new to connections. can any one guide me in this?
  6. Hello pranav hari, Thanks for your prompt response. Regards, Saravanan R
  7. Hello @Rahul Ponginan, I am new to hypermesh. When i was studying theoretically about Finite element analysis, i got to know that the calculations will be made at limited number of nodes and then the result will be interpolated to the entire domain. Can you please tell me that what is "interpolate" in FEA/FEM? I already searched in google and got some theories, but those were unable to understand. Awaiting for your reply. Thanks in an advance. 8. Thanks Mr. tinh, this one really helps me.
  9. Hi Alexandar, Hope you're doing good. I am interested in hypermesh scripting via tcl/tk, but i don't know from where i need to start. Initially one of my friend told me to learn the documentation in tcl official website. I had gone through the site and i didn't understand anything. Then I had tried via tutorial point website for online training and there the tutorial was looking like coding format, not in scripting format & that also failed for me. Finally when am going through altair forum site, i saw your first post similar to where am standing now. Can you please guide me, how to start learning this tcl/tk language interms of scripting? How you are learning this scripts? Experienced peoples were telling to learn tcl/tk in available resources, but they were not telling how we need to start from a scratch interms of scripting?. So can you please help me in this. Thanks in an advance. Regards, Saravanan
  10. Mr. Tinh, How you had learned the TCL/TK? Whether you had learned on your own by watching the tutorials? Sorry for disturbing you with this type of questions. Why am asking this question to you is , I want to know how experts were learned this language. Awaiting for your reply Mr. Tinh. Regards, Saravanan R
  11. Hi, I had planned to learn TCL/TK via online tutorial (tutorialpoint). When starting the tutorial, basics are easy to understand. But when getting deeper inside the tutorial after basics, it is very difficult to understand. So kindly help me with following questions. 1) Is there any easy way to learn this language??? 2) Online tutorials are like in coding format and their teaching also in same way. But written Hyper-mesh scripts are in different way. I am not getting this thing. 3) Any suggestion for TCL/TK books, videos and website for learning? Thanks in advance. Regards, Saravanan
