  1. Hi, I need to create some complicated 3D geometry and I wish to know how to check the volume and surface area of the geometry. I tried to check in CADFEKO but I am unable to check the value of the volume and surface area of the geometry in the CADFEKO. Regards, Hamsalekha
  2. Hi, I wish to request near scattered field for my simulation. However, I wish to know what kind of correction terms (ex: amplitude and phase correction) are being implemented in this near field computation for both FEM and MoM. Are there any papers to support these statements? Thank you

  4. Hi, I wish to integrate MLFMM with MoM and FEM. However, I am confused with the options given in the CADFEKO. In the region properties box (diagram above), there is an option for MoM/MLFMM (so I assume that MoM is integrated with MLFMM). However, in the Solver Setting box, there is another option for MLFMM Do I still need to tick the solve model with MLFMM option? I am not sure with the differences between the two figures? Is it same for FEM method as well? Thank you
  5. Hi, I always receive this error too. There are few causes of error. High number of mesh, the number of frequency variable should not be more than 20 numbers, and if the run time take too long. To solve this problem, we either need to purchase the software or try to reduce the number of mesh and frequency and so on. Thank you.
  6. Thanks for your reply. After I constructed two combined sphere by changing the coordinate, I can't click the Union option. Now, after reading your reply stating as long as everything that touches belong the same part, I just combined two spheres and didn't modify anything since the two spheres are touching each other. However, when I meshed them and tried to run the simulation, I receive this error:
  7. Hi, I constructed a combination of two sphere. Initially, I faced some difficulty to combine two sphere using union but eventually I manage to do it by splitting it. In the first step, I initialized two spheres separately. I just combined them by changing the coordinates of the two spheres. Then, I used split command for both of the spheres and use union to combine all the spheres. After the split and union process, I set the region for both sphere as dielectric medium and set for FEM computation. However, when I wanted to create mesh, there were both triangular and tetrahedral mesh though I wanted only tetrahedral mesh. I also received the error message as shown below. Please help as I am not which part I have done error. I am not whether the error occur at the split, union process or in the initialization of the dielectric medium for the spherical region. Thank you
  8. Hi Matt, As Smitha said, it is an easier method to extract the result from the graph. You can also try option to export the file into .EFE format as well to analyse near field result. In CADFEKO, click advanced setting in "request near fields" option and there will be option to export the file into .EFE file. Thank you.
  9. Hi, I wish to set the permittivity of the background of the solid and permittivity for the solid sphere. I am not sure how to set the permittivity for both of the region. Can anyone help? In FEKO, can we set the permittivity for the background as well beside for the solid? Thank you.

Hi, I wish to write a postfeko code where it can generate only near field results (Electric field magnitude and phase for theta and phi) and far field results (Electric field magnitude and phase for theta and phi and backscattering cross section value) for 256 configurations in one single text file. (Combinations of all 256 configurations in a single text file and also 2D Cartesian graph) I wrote this code (only for near field) but it is not working. The arrangement of the configurations are not in order and the results cannot be displayed in the Cartesian graph. My code -- To get started try the following script: names = pf.NearField.GetNames() printlist(names) for i = 1,256,1 do nearfieldi = pf.NearField.GetDataSet(names) print(nearfieldi) end return nearfield The output file has all the results of 256 configurations but there are other informations as well. So, it is impossible for me to extract the mentioned data one by one for 256 configurations and paste it in text file since its time consuming. The configurations are based on the theta and phi of incident and scattered field. I will attach the output file so that you can take a look on how the initializations are done and you can also refer to my previous forum discussion to understand the flow of the simulation. I hope anyone can assist me in this problem since it is an essential part of the investigation. Thank you output file of feko.txt
