  1. Dear all, A month ago , i am using OPTISTRUCT solver to conduct Normal mode analysis. we have changed the solver from Nastran to opitstruct. so i have few questions. 1.with using one optistruct license, is it possible to do multi tasking. ( Means, to conudct two or more analysis at a time). 2. is it possible to increase the speed of analysis. because i can see the cores & processors option. 3. Any import tips or tricks to ease the analysis process. if you guys know the answer for any of the above question. please do let me know.
  2. Hello everyone I would like to know, what is the difference between creating a constraint, set its Card Image to TEMPD, set T1 with the temperature and to create 'temperatures' and set the value to the temperature? I thank you in advance for your help!
  3. Hey! I am trying to perform a structural and transient analysis on a Roller Element Bearing model. I am able to perform simple static analysis but I would like to utilize Hyperworks to simulate the following conditions: Inner race to be rotating with a constant velocity and a fixed radial load is applied. Outer race is fixed. The balls should also be rotating. I wish to know how I can give a constant velocity to the inner race of the bearing while also allowing the balls to rotate. What kind of contact constraint should I apply. Right now I am working with freeze contact only. There is one video but in a different solver which does what I have been trying to do. I wish to do it in Hyperworks. Here is the link: Also please suggest whether optistruct's non linear can be used or whether I should switch over to a different solver module! Cheers
  4. I've been recently working on a Knee joint model . I need to find the contact force vector between two particular components. I have been getting a lot of errors and unable to run the model. All the contact pairs and properly defined and I am able to generate all typical outputs except for contact output. please help me out. The output blocks defined so far are node and element outputs for all 8 components defined. Thanks in advance!
  5. Hello, I am using hyperform to evaluate the springback compensation of a component. I created the parameters and saved the '.hf file'. Then while running the analysis with the saved .hf file, the command prompt opens. It could not run the simulation. It shows the error 'noh3d -nproc 1' and 'the system cannot find the path specified'. Have attached with the screenshot of the error. Kindly refer to it and help me regarding this. Thanks in advance.
  6. I have designed a patch antenna which is operated using proximity feed. After running, in POSTFEKO the realised gain was very low despite "good" gain values. When I checked the current activity using Currents requests, I found out that only a little current is induced in the patch. I'm running FEKO 14. I have no idea what's wrong. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
  7. Hello, I am using Optistruct to numerically calculate some FRFs. I have test data to validate my numerical results. Measured test data is an FRF data in the form of Inertance (acceleration/force). I see that there is a big gap in frequency components' amplitudes between the measured data and numerically calculated data, though calculated and measured natural frequencies align very well. I have followed the modal frequency response tutorial and nowhere in the tutorial is it shown that we're specifically selecting the type of FRF we're wanting (e.g. inertance or mobility or receptance). GLOBAL_OUTPUT_REQUEST is used with DISPLACEMENT enabled and that makes me think that, what I am calculating in Optistruct is Receptance and not Inertance. I tried to request ACCELERATION instead of DISPLACEMENT, but ACCELERATION doesn't let me select the output node set which I used for DISPLACEMENT. How can I make sure in Optistruct that the numerical data I'm getting is inertance and not mobility (velocity/force) or receptance (displacement/force)? Best regards
  8. When trying to calculate (solidification) with sleeves I get an error message: Error when preparing data for analysis (Domain error: Argument not in valid range) The calculation is O.K. without sleeves. Please advise.
  9. Hi Pau, Do you have any information related of wheel rim casting simulations.
  10. Hi Everyone, I am working with Optistruct for my Linear/Static Analysis, I am doing Topology Optimization in my model but before I wanted to check whether my model is working regarding with displacement or stress result for my BCs. but after analysis result it shows nothing every displacement result is zero and no change. Can anyone take a look into my model whats wrong or what change I have to make. I used Hex mesh, with 4 Loadcases and one constraint. I have attached my model for the expect reference. It would be much apprieciated if i get any positive response. Thank you in advance. Regards, Muthu.
  11. I need to find the total strain energy of each component in my FEA model. Is there any tutorial about it?
  12. Hi, Mesh independent study is performed for one operating point to fix the mesh count in one of my problem. The final fixed mesh count result was deviating by 1.5% for the selected operating point. The final fixed mesh is used to simulate for other operating points and their results deviate between 10-30%. To check the consistency of the result the simulation is conducted for different operating point to check the stability of solution and found result changes with huge deviation. If this problem persists on my cases, it would be difficult for us to relay on the tool. Requesting you to arrange for a meeting to discuss in detail about this issue ASAP. Regards, Vignesh V.
  13. Dear all I need to know how to use connect for weld condition. Do you have any example or method for use this function ? such as : Arc welding or Seam welding ?
  14. Hello all ! This is my first post here, I'm a student doing my master thesis in Mechanical engineering. Here is my issue, I successfully did the tutorial in order to realize dynamic explicit analysis with the "full car" model available in Hypermesh database and also the " Example 51 - Optimization in RADIOSS for B-Pillar (Thickness optimization) " in order to understand how the ESL method works. The next step is to optimize the car crash box using he ESL method, my aim is to optimize the component called " COMP-PSHELL_1 " by Thickness optimization. I wrote the .radopt file but I encountered an issue with the .fem file. See below the error, I was not able to solve the issue. *** See next message about line 14864 from file: fullcarv5.fem "CONTACT,3,3,0,3" *** ERROR # 1000 *** in the input data: Incorrect data in field # 4. See attached the .radopt, the engine/stater file and the .fem file Thanks for your help ! Aub N. fullcarv5.fem fullcarv5.radopt fullcarv5_0000.rad fullcarv5_0001.rad
  15. Hello, Can anybody explain what is the difference between these 2 stress components ; Tresca and MaxShear? I assume that both come from the Maximum Shear Stress theory (Failure theories) so I do not understand the difference between both of them, in which situation they are to be used, etc. Thank you. BR, Hanif
  16. How can I perform a thermal analysis of a brake disc in Hyperworks? Guide me through some tutorial if possible.
  17. Hello Getting a problem in analysis, my 3D geometry goes into single plane during analysis.

  21. During analysis, I cant able to find Bulkdata option in Radioss. If I choose option other than Bulkdata, In "analysis" menu panel, Loads and Constraints option hides. Thank you in Advance
  22. Hello HyperWork users. I have encountered a problem with Radioss analysis, somewhat connected with my license. Due to lack of separate Radioss programe in SE, we've built engine inside HyperMesh and tried to run analysis. However, each time I run Radioss message below pops up. I've checked ipconfig/all with license already (since I changed Internet provider), as well as re-downloading license file and substituting it. At this point, I honesly strive for any new idea what might be wrog with it. Provided, you need my in- or output files, I may attach them in the next post. Many thanks in advance for your help. EDIT1: I attached files. LICZ_0000.rad LICZ_0001.rad
  23. Composite structures all have joints, so their design and analysis is paramount to determining their overall performance. Therefore, ESAComp has comprehensive capabilities for both bonded and mechanical joints which are very efficient in the preliminary design of various joint configurations. 24. Hello, I'm currently attempting to do a study in which I created a simple square mesh. A pressure is applied perpendicular to the entire surface and the geometry is constrained along two parallel edges of the square. I'd like to observe the change in element displacement as the thickness varies. Is there any way to do this by parameterizing the thickness within the PSHELL component? I have attached an image of the setup to clarify.
