  1. Hello, How to get gif animation in ACUFIELDVIEW I know how to form video in Acufieldview, but problem is video I am getting is in AVI. format. Then I am converting AVI. format to GIF and then preparing ppt. But while converting it, croping option is not there. Due to which ppt presentation is difficult.   3. I was doing CFD analysis, i exported the file (nastran format) in the same way as shown in the video( Day 11, CFD analysis ). After exporting, i opened ACU CONSOLE, and created new database file, but when i tried to import the nastran file it automatically closed down showing a black screen window with an error written on it. Below is that error pic. Plz help me ASAP.
  4. I have meshed a 2-dimensional conjugate heat transfer model in Hypermesh and need to solve it in Fluent. I am not able to get the wall boundary condition between a solid and fluid as a coupled interface. It states in the Hypermesh tips for fluent document that we need to make the wall from ^edges and then when you export it to fluent it should create shadow zone automatically but this isn't working for me. I have tried with simple meshing without 2d BL meshes. I have tried with only one solid body in the fluid air but still I am not successful in getting a coupled wall. I tried it with CFD tetra mesh for a simple body in 3d with ^faces collector and it converted to shadow zone in fluent. Its only a problem with 2d i guess. Kindly help me with this problem and if anybody has a tutorial with a 2d solid to fluid contact coupled wall please do let me know. I need it for my mini thesis and I am just stuck at this part.
  5. My CFD solve is running. I am working on EGR system(exhaust gas recirculation system). Its the thermal analysis. There are two fluid(air & coolant). Goal is to find outlet temperature of fluid i.e. air & coolant. My result is not converging. It's very big modal, nearly 40 million elements are formed. Each time step is taking nearly 30min. Now after nearly 96 hours, 160 time step is reached. Still its not converged. At TS 70, values looks more trendy. And at TS 120, solution was converged its best. But now at TS 160, results are not looking trendy. Now, I want result at TS 120. Is it possible, now solve is at TS 160? And, if any suggestions are there to coverge solve, then please suggest me.
  6. Hi all, I am trying to create a simple CFD tetramesh in a pipe. When I try and run the Acusolve solution, I get the error "No Valid 3D element found in the neighbourhood of a trai element". The resulting error shows "Exterior Trias" and "External Quads" and show voids in the boundary layer mesh at random mesh locations. Can anyone help me with this issue? The Pipe inflows and outflows are set as W/O BL float and the Wall is set as With BL Fixed. Cheers, James

  9. Hello, I am trying to use TCL code to automate the tetrameshing process due to a large number of individual components needed to be meshed for CFD. I am using a simple right angled pipe and have a variation of code that was given in the "Hyperworks Desktop Reference Guide". I can successfully use the tetramesh process within Hypermesh itself manually, selecting my "Wall" as With BL (Fixed) and my "Inflow" and "Outflow" as W/o BL (Float) and do not have the issues that I will explain. However, when I try and automate the process using TCL code, my "^CFD_trias_for_tetramesh" part is only a 2D mesh. This then results in the following failure when using the AcuSolve job launcher: "No Valid 3D element found in the neighbourhood of a tria element". Whereas, if I was to do this manually, the part would be called "CFD_tetcore001", however it would be a 3D volume mesh. Here is my code: *createstringarray 2 "tet: 21532 1.2 2 0 0.8 0 0" "cfd: 86 0.0035 22 1.2 1" *createmark comps 2 "Inflow" "Outflow" *createmark comps 1 "Wall" *tetmesh comps 2 0 comps 1 3 1 2 Would anyone be able to provide any suggestions as to how to get a 3D mesh in the centre of the fluid.   16. Hi, I'm trying to brick mesh a straight pipe for OpenFOAM CFD, meaning I need a boundary layer, shell elements on the outer surfaces and a core - all hex elements. My meshing attempts up to now were only partially successful. I created a boundary layer by splitting the solid in an inner and outer pipe, then subtract one from the other, deleting the solid so I've got the inner and outer surfaces, created a surface mesh, then brick elements by using Element offset for the boundary layer. Unfortunately, the shell elements are lost in the process and I don't quite know how to create shells from the existing solids. Project nodes does not seem to be the right tool. If someone could post a general workflow for this type of brick meshing I'd be very grateful. I've only used CFD tetramesh up to now, but OpenFOAM does seem to prefer brick elements. Unfortunately, I can't use hex core with a tetra oder penta boundary layer and transition, OpenFOAM can't handle different element types at once. Edit: Sorry, this should have been posted in the Hypermesh subforum!
  17. Hello guys, I am undergoing master in university right now and my title of my research is "OPTIMISING THE COMFORT IN MOTORCYCLE HELMET BY THERMAL/MOISTURE MAPPING". It is all about the effect of temperature inside the motorcycle helmet during riding a bike. Therefore, it is related to CFD which will effect the thermal energy inside/outside the helmet. The question is, how should I approach this type of case study using HyperWorks? I would be great if you guys attach some of tutorials. - example of vented motorcycle helmet image attached () plus I tried this tutorial (http://training.altairuniversity.com/analysis/thermal/projects/thermal-analysis-heat-transfer/) using HyperWorks version 13 but I stuck with assigning "Conductivity" Tutorials () Mine () Thanks.   20. Hello, i try to mesh a Wing for CFD Analysis with VWT. In the Analysis of the Mesh i have a lot of intersections and the automatic fix is not working. The Endplates are out of Solids. The rest of the Wing is out of Surfaces. I deleted the solids and kept the surfaces of the solids but there was the same problem again. How can i remove those self intersections? (see dropboxfile) or Is there maybe a way to trim components with other components and merge the surfaces of those components?   21. Hi, I am using hypermesh to generate CFD tetramesh and boundary layer to model a flow into pipes. I am first working on a simple pipe with an inlet and an outlet. I am using the cfd tetra mesh panel to generate the boundary layer and the tetramesh core. The boundary layer obtained is good for the first couple layers but the elements start to skew at some point which result in a very bad boundary layer mesh. This is extremely disappointing since this is one of the simplest case I can think of. I am planning to use the cfd mesher for a much complex piping case and this kind of mesh is not acceptable. Please help me with this issue. I used hypermesh 12.0.117. I attached a screenshot of the parameters used for the boundary layer. I also tried several other combination of the parameters. I also tried selecting float or fixed boundary layer without success. I also attached screenshots of the resulting elements to illustrate the problem. I also attach a .txt file containing the model of the pipe. (just change de extension to .fem and import it in hypermesh, I had to change extension otherwise the upload was not authorized). The pipe and inlet/outlet components are used as 2d input mesh for the boundary layer mesh generation.   22. Hi all, I've been trying to get a wing model from HM to VWT. I've been told that the body I've created thus far is correct (see bottom of post). What I've done is clean up the geometry and created a solid from the bounding surfaces. However, no matter what mesh I create (surface deviation, CFD tetra, etc) when I import into VWT (CFD>Nastran Fluent) there isnt one single volume but four separate ones.
