The first one is made of three different materials defined as LAW25 (COMPSH), plies as Type19 and laminate panel as P17_stack. Unfortunately something do not work properly. Dear Forum, for a project I want to simulate the effect on a person who is driving a car with 13.88 m/s (50 km/h) and crashes into an obstacle with a 90° angle towards the obstacle (straight front crash). The person is represented by a dummy (50% Male), the seat structure was modeled by altair, as well as the dummy. I created two seatbelts with the Hypercrash tool Belt Generator (Hypercrash --> Safety --> Belt Generator) and deformed the seat with the seat deformer (old) (Hypercrash --> Safety --> Seat Deformer --> Geometrical displacement (old)). Due to simplification I removed the complete lower sector of the seat group and replaced it with a rigid body, which is linked to the floor and the seat. I built the model as follows: Loadcases: -Initial velocity: applied to all parts of the model (13.88 m/s) -Imposed velocity: A function, which decreases the speed from 13.88m/s to 0 within 30 ms. Applied to all parts but the dummy itself. -Gravity load: To maintain physical correctness of the dummys motion. -Added Mass: Applied to all nodes of the dummy to be representative for the human weight. Boundary Conditions: -BC for the seat: All degrees of freedom are locked except for the translation in X-axis (which is the direction of motion). This is applied only for the floor and the ground part of the seat. Contact Interfaces: -Interior contact: Contact between the two seat layers (was set by altair when I imported the model, I did not change any values) -Seat to floor: Contact seat to floor (TYPE7) -Feet to floor: Contact feet to floor (TYPE10) -Seatbelt to dummy: Contact upper/lower seatbelt to dummy/seat (TYPE7) -Dummy to seat: Contact Dummy to seat (TYPE7) The problems I am facing now are: -The Runtime for a single simulation is about 9500 seconds. Can this be regarded as normal, considering the model complexicity? -Results of the simulation differ too much from expactations/reality -->Normally I would have expected the backrest to at least do a little motion, but it remains in its position. -Because of the constraints of the seatbelts, the head of the dummy experiences a very high acceleration. -->Is there any chance, that the Belts ease a little bit (in the beginning) and afterwards tension up, just like in reality? -All elements of the part "LINK", ID:6 delete on the beginning of every simulation. I could not figure out the reason for that, neither in the starter file, nor in the engine file. -During the Simulation it reaches one Point, where all the masses go into one single point/node but I can not figure out, why (see attached Video) Please correct me if I am rootedly wrong with my assumptions.   7. Hello all ! This is my first post here, I'm a student doing my master thesis in Mechanical engineering. Here is my issue, I successfully did the tutorial in order to realize dynamic explicit analysis with the "full car" model available in Hypermesh database and also the " Example 51 - Optimization in RADIOSS for B-Pillar (Thickness optimization) " in order to understand how the ESL method works. The next step is to optimize the car crash box using he ESL method, my aim is to optimize the component called " COMP-PSHELL_1 " by Thickness optimization. I wrote the .radopt file but I encountered an issue with the .fem file. See below the error, I was not able to solve the issue. *** See next message about line 14864 from file: fullcarv5.fem "CONTACT,3,3,0,3" *** ERROR # 1000 *** in the input data: Incorrect data in field # 4.   8. Hello! I'm having some problems with initialising Inspire on my computer. I've already tried uninstalling and installing the program from the very beginning but it does not work either. Also I've read in other posts you are having problems with NVIDIA graphic cards, but I don't know if that's the only problem or there can be any other. I've also read in Inspire system requirements that for Windows, Intel Graphic hardware (which I have on my computer) is not "allowed" either. Can you help me?

  11. I am working on crash analysis of a truck chassis. It has various components and I have meshed them using batchmesher, checked quality and then I have manually created spot welds. This method takes a very long time. Now my professor is asking me to do a convergence study using different element size. My question is now if I have to mesh my whole chassis, which has about 40 components, is there any easy way to mesh them and weld them, or should I do it in the conventional way which I did before.   12. Hello Friends, I am presently using HM 8 in windows 7 (64 bit) machine with 32 GB RAM and 3.5 GHz processor. Whenever I use surface edit option, it crashes with segmentation error. I think there is no problem with the geometry as I could work in HM 12 without any problem. I appreciate any solution/suggestions to resolve this problem. Thanks in advance.
  13. Well to be honest...none of the versions I have installed on my computer work with Windows 8.1. I am going through tutorials and getting familiar with all the many buttons and sometimes it'll crash on me if I just press a button. If I open a saved project (with or without history) and I try to do anything...it'll crash and shut down. I actually can't use the program at this point so this saddens me... Any help is much appreciated!
  14. Hi all, I want to ask something about force output. I prepared a crash analysis with a pendulum and crashbumper system.(crashboxes,bumper and brackets) If i do this analysis with rigid wall i can see the results with RWALL forces,but my pendulum is in a different shape,so i don't do it with RWALL. Instead, i modeled pendulum with a small thickness and fully rigid.I can do the analysis in this way.But i want to learn that;how i can i get the force output of this crash analysis? (Brackets are not fully rigid,they are constrained with four screw with BC.) Attached picture may be a referance. Thanks in advance.
  15. Dear all I post for the first time. I'm Takky, Yokohama National University in Japan. Could you please tell me how to output the load force of side members and the barrier surface in contact analysis? I need its graph. I can't output the load force data of the barrier nor side member. I once used the output block on each RBODY of the barrier surface and side member, but no data was output. On HyperGraph, only "Global Valuables" is available, but no other data in "T01-file". In this analysis, the bumper model crash into the rigid offset barrier surface in front, in initial velocity of 50km/h(13.9mm/s). The analysis sample on this image, I wanted to output the each load force of right and left member, but couldn't. In another analysis, I made one rigid body from two members and tried as equal, but couldn't. So, it's not because there are two rigid bodies in rear of bumper, I think. I sent its HM data together.
