  1. Hi. I'm Taeho. I want to make holes of geometry but the number of holes is about 6000. I cannot do make that one by one. Therefore I used Editfeko for using Matlab. However, I have a problem when I was using Editfeko. There is no the 'Subtract' function in Editfeko. I can make the geometry and I can make 6000 cylinders for making holes. But, I can not subtract cylinders from geometry. As I know, before there was cadfeko, there is editfeko. Therefore I think the 'subtract function' somewhere in editfeko. Is it me not to be able to find or is there no the 'subtract function' in editfeko? please help me. * I already tried to do the 'sweep function' in Cadfeko. but my cylinders' position is not linear. it follows parabolic shape. ( ex) rho = 4F*(F-z) ) ... so I cannot do that by using Cadfeko.
  2. I'm trying to simulate a 6th order parallel-coupled bandpass filter on stripline using EDITFEKO but I am not getting the correct response. The filter example was taken from the attached slides (pg. 26 - 29) and all measurements were converted to meters with two edge ports and excitations at the input and output lines [touching the top and bottom conductors] (EDITFEKO and POSTFEKO files attached). Since EDITFEKO requires that every connected edge have the same length, even when all the associated sections are "unioned" (i.e. same labels; "LA" card), correctly implementing practical ground conductors is quite tedious and so I'm first trying to make use of two ideal infinite ground plane models for the top and bottom conductors of the structure, as I've done successfully before for microstrip implementations [but only using one ground plane] (EDITFEKO and POSTFEKO files also attached). Is my stripline implementation incorrect or is it not possible to implement stripline technologies using FEKO's Greens function approximation or do I need to manually implement a finite substrate and ground conductor (enclosure/box)? 3. Hello, I would like to do a parametric sweep of dielectric permittivity from 2 to 500 (no loss tangent) for a dielectric cube. In order to do that, I am using the EDITFEKO to give the required inputs and outputs. I have saved the list of permittivity values in a txt file. I would like to call this txt file and run the EDITFEKO and then save outputs. The below figure shows the piece of code from my EDITFEKO file. Unfortunately, the EDITFEKO is showing an error saying it cannot read the txt file. I also tried creating an XML file but it did not work either. I would really appreciate any help on this problem. Thanks a lot. I have also attached txt file for reference, Alternatively, can we vary the permittivity using for loop? --Kalyan Durbhakula permittivity.txt
  4. I have the following EDITFEKO code: ** Near field: NearField1 DA: 0 : 0 : : : 0 : : : 0 : : : 0 OF: 1 : 0 : : : : 0 : 0 : 0 : 0 : 0 : 0 FE: 3 : 5 : 5 : 5 : 1 : 0 : 0 : 0 : 125 : 90 : 325 ** NearField1 I displayed the information generated in cartesian coordinates (POSTFEKO) and it gave me 'Power Transmitted through surface' on a specific 'Surface Definition' and 'phi' angle and obtain a wattage that could not possibly represent a specific point. Does this mean that this is the total power that is part of an infinite surface? If I select RhoPhi surface and a specific height, is that surface infinite? Is there a way in which I can get the specific power in a point at a specific height? Or does this depend on the antenna used for reception? I see that I can get the Electric Field values at a specific point but not power. Thanks in advance
  5. Hi, I get this error ERROR 174: Frequency is too small or has not been defined while trying to simulate an antenna using Edit Feko, Hope you could help! Note: the simulation using CadFeko run without any problems, and I didn't change the frequency range when I opened the Edit Feko. Thank you!
  6. Hi, I have a simple problem. I create a closed cylinder in Cadfeko, union and mesh it. However, when I try it in Editfeko, I create two ellipses and a cylinder and mesh it. The number of triangles in are close ( 2158 vs 2352 ) but the number of points are different (1000 vs 7000). I took the nas output file to draw the mesh and attached in the files below. Since the number of points in Editfeko is too big, I think there is a problem with it, maybe relating to the union. Can anyone explain to me this phenomenon ? editfeko.fig cadfeko.fig
  7. Could someone specify the format for the external ASCII file when loading radiation pattern data into the AR Card in EDITFEKO? I am aware of the documentation but would appreciate a clearer example of the format. Thankyou
