  1. I isntalled hyperwork 2019 student edition with licence.dat in the security folder and set an enviroment name as told. But somehow software shuts down after start up without any error. I need urgent help.
  2. I have worked before with Pretension analysis and pretension manager on Optistruct. I am obtaining this error at the moment *** ERROR # 3090 *** Normals on the cutting section of PRETENS #20 are not consistent. Do you kow what this means? Thank you!
  3. Dear All, I have an issue concerning the use of “Double NeGative” (DNG) metamaterials. The issue regards either the electromagnetic scattering of plane waves from DNG metamaterial cylinders or the evaluation of the reflection coefficient for waveguides partially filled with metamaterials. I firstly considered an indefinite (along the z axis), homogeneous cylinder having radius = 4lambda in the case of normally incident plane wave with TM polarization at f = 300MHz (see Fig. 1 in attached files). The cylinder is filled up with a DNG metamaterial having eps_r= -2.2, while mu_r<0 changes from case to case. An indefinite cylinder has been obtained with periodic boundary conditions. The result from FEKO is compared with a cylindrical wave expansion (see “Normal Incidence Plane Wave Scattering by Conducting Circular Cylinder: TMzPolarization” – Advanced Engineering Electromagnetic, Constantine A. Balanis). FEKO and the cylindrical wave expansion agree for mu_r =-1 (see Fig. 2) and for mu_r = -1.2 (see Fig. 3), while they disagree for mu_r= -1.3 and mu_r = -1.5 (see Fig. 4 and Fig. 5). Please, find attached the related .cfx file and relative figures. In the second case, I considered an X-band rectangular waveguide structure (see Fig.6) partially filled with a DNG metamaterial, now with epr_r = -2 and mu_r<0 changing from case to case, and terminated with a short circuit. The result from FEKO has been compared with waveguide theory. While for mu_r from -1 to -1.2 the reflection coefficient is ok, for mu_r = -1.5 (or in general lower than mu_r=-1.3) the phases of the numerical and analytical reflection coefficients differ: the numerical phase is -79.7° while the analytical one is -105.1°.   4. Hi First I would like to thank you for your time reading this post. I am trying to simulate a 36 pole hydrogenerator to assess its EMF and harmonics. What the attachment contains: 1. geometry, electrical and physics 2. solver steps To run the program, simply mesh the domain and then use the test scenario. The problem im having is that the airgap flux is only 0.3T which is totally wrong. I have deleted all stator winding electrical circuit and simply treating the project as a rotor with windings with no other electrical circuits. I am trying to simply the study and see where the problem is but unfortunately i was unable to get a sensible airgap flux density. would someone please help? regards Marcus 1 ARC T.FLU.zip
  5. Hi, I would like to know if I can write a batch file to run a tcl script through the HM platform without actually needing to open Hypermesh .? My code is written such that it can run via Wish console, but in my office where this macro will be used, only hypermesh is available to run tcl codes. Also as this work does not require HM to be open, I don't want to use the FILE -> RUN option in hypermesh (making it more user friendly by not asking him/her to open hm). Is there any way to create a batch to execute this file ?

  7. Hey guys, I’m a mechanical engineer student and I participate in a project where I analysis the structure of a modern tricycle. I need help with the fatigue analysis. I make the training of fatigue by Altair and tried make the analysis, but I’m not sure of the results. I think the problem it’s on the TABFAT. About the TABFAT: My analysis has 1D and 2D elements. I obtained the following values in the Linear Static Analysis: Analysis 1D Analysis 2D σ_max 24,59 MPa 267,9 Mpa σ_min -19,71 MPa 0 MPa Can I represent the load cycle of my “vehicle” like a sinusoidal curve? Can you show me how I represent it? Should I represent these values for each of the fatigue analysis like one analysis for 1D elements and other analysis for 2D elements? Can I “mix” these values for the two analyses representing σ_max = 24,59 MPa and σ_min = -19,71 MPa? I think that a correct method is consider my load cycle like a variable load, but I don’t obtain experimental data. About the MATFAT: I acquired the MATFAT data by the eFatigue website, but I don’t obtain the SE (standard error of log(N)). How I find out this? If I consider SE like “Default” (zero), how will affect my analysis? Note: I’m making a SN analysis. Thanks for helping!

  9. Hello everyone I would like to do a thermo-mechanical optimization. The thermo-mechanical analysis is already done successfully. Now I was looking for a documentation or tutorial about this sort of topology optimization, but I could not find anything. Does anybody of you have a link or documentation to share, about thermo-mechanical topology optimizations? I thank you very much in advance!
  10. Hi there, I have been working on optimising a bracket design and inspire has produced a suitable optimised model. I would like to refine the surface finish of this model using the polyNURBS feature. The issue is that the model includes a feature which resembles an I-beam, but PolyNURBS turns this into a cylindrical shape. Is there any way to closely follow the contours of a shape more closely with the PolyNURBS tool? Please see the attached images for clarification. Thanks in Advance! Nigel
  11. Hello guys, I wanna know how to create solid bodies in evolve using loft feature between curves. Actually I want to create spoke of wheel rim using loft command but I'm unable to make it a solid body. Do we get solid body if we loft between all the curves? Please help me regarding this. If you have any evolve model of rim spoke that will be very appreciable. Thank you in advance

  13. Hi, I have ran a simulation of an assemble but the forces exerted on the model don't seem to tranfer on to other components. The components are connected through spotwelds. I have attached a picture that might explain the problem better. In the picture I have applied SPC BCs at the door hinge and latch. On the outer panel I then applied a high force along the nodes on the center line of the door. As you can see from the picture the forces on the outer panel don't transfer on to the likes of the impact beam. Could anyone advise me on what I should do to fix the problem? Thanks
  14. Hi We are doing a car impact analysis against a pole (created as a rigid wall - Geometry type = cylinder). The simulation is running, but the impact only affects the front part of the car, it does't transmit the impact energy to the entire car. We think that we are missing to make a contact between the entire car, but we don´t know how to do it. As you can see in the second image, the front part of the frame, goes through the base of the car.
