  1. I have done three point bend test using hypercrash to make model. I am using radioss solver. I am able to create model without any error. But there is no option to study result is coming in radioss solver window. Kindly help.
  2. Is there any way to display the reference geometry in HyperWorks 2019.1 X? In HyperCrash there is an option to display it. But in HyperWorks X I cannot find the way to show the reference geometry, even the "Preview" option does not make it. See the same opened file side by side.
  3. Hello, I am trying to impose a temperature load on a thermobimetal disc which should result in a dynamic snapping Motion because of the different thermal Expansion coefficients. I have previously imported a state file that includes the Change in curvature and stress caused by deep drawing. However, after running the Simulation no Change is visible at all.   5. Hello comunity, I am trying to convert a LS-dyna hexa contact adhesive into a Radioss adhesive via hypercrash. I did it sucessfully with the spotwelds, using the tool "Connections -> SpotWeld-> Extract from Model", but this same tool does not work when I am dealing with adhesives. Somebody has a suggestion?  Thanks a lot!
  6. I am getting errors in RADIOSS when I tried to simulate the crash model that has been exported from HyperCrash. ERROR ID : 286** ERROR IN INPUT CONSISTENCYDESCRIPTION : QUAD ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH N2D3D=0 ERROR ID : 760** RADIOSS STOP DUE TO INPUT ERROR What would be the solution for these errors? I cannot share the model due to the confidential issues.

  8. Hi, I am looking for the right PRE-PROCESSING TOOL and SOLVER to solve this problem. My problem is attached as a picture. Two plates are spot-welded. I assume top plate is excited by horizontal and vertical harmonic loading. I think Stick-slip phenomena appears due to friction between top plate and bottom plate and Slap phenomena appears due to vertical force. (slap phenomenon will occur in this system when the amplitude of the relative displacement is larger than the natural gap distance between the two plates.) RADIOSS is known as the best structural analysis solver for solving highly nonlinear problems under dynamic load conditions. Is it possible to obtain frequency response function of a system with nonlinear phenomenon by using (Hypermesh or Hypercrach) and RADIOSS ?
  9. Hi All, I want to create 2 solid blocks touching each other and bolted together. I meshed them and when I import the same in Hypercrash and checked for intersections, it shows me an intersection. I have tried to resolve this by Remove intersections option or 3D mesh editing, but could not remove this intersection. Can you please help me how to remove such intersections and corresponding penetration. Thanks in advance. Regards Nitin Jain
  10. Hello All, Greetings!! I am using mm, kg, ms units system in HyperCrash and using Mat Law 36 or PLAS_TAB for different parts. Therefore I have taken strain rate unit as 1/ms. But general standard unit for the strain rate is 1/sec. Therefore I ran simulation with units as 1/sec as well. Results: Simulation results of Strain rate with 1/sec units are closer to experimental results as compare to 1/ms simulation results. Above screen shot is from Radioss_10.0_Reference_Guide2. Please guide me what unit (1/sec or 1/ms) to use for accurate material modelling in Radioss. Thanks and Regards Nitin Jain

Dear Forum, for a project I want to simulate the effect on a person who is driving a car with 13.88 m/s (50 km/h) and crashes into an obstacle with a 90° angle towards the obstacle (straight front crash). The person is represented by a dummy (50% Male), the seat structure was modeled by altair, as well as the dummy. I created two seatbelts with the Hypercrash tool Belt Generator (Hypercrash --> Safety --> Belt Generator) and deformed the seat with the seat deformer (old) (Hypercrash --> Safety --> Seat Deformer --> Geometrical displacement (old)). Due to simplification I removed the complete lower sector of the seat group and replaced it with a rigid body, which is linked to the floor and the seat. I built the model as follows: Loadcases: -Initial velocity: applied to all parts of the model (13.88 m/s) -Imposed velocity: A function, which decreases the speed from 13.88m/s to 0 within 30 ms. Applied to all parts but the dummy itself. -Gravity load: To maintain physical correctness of the dummys motion. -Added Mass: Applied to all nodes of the dummy to be representative for the human weight. Boundary Conditions: -BC for the seat: All degrees of freedom are locked except for the translation in X-axis (which is the direction of motion). This is applied only for the floor and the ground part of the seat. Contact Interfaces: -Interior contact: Contact between the two seat layers (was set by altair when I imported the model, I did not change any values) -Seat to floor: Contact seat to floor (TYPE7) -Feet to floor: Contact feet to floor (TYPE10) -Seatbelt to dummy: Contact upper/lower seatbelt to dummy/seat (TYPE7) -Dummy to seat: Contact Dummy to seat (TYPE7) The problems I am facing now are: -The Runtime for a single simulation is about 9500 seconds. Can this be regarded as normal, considering the model complexicity? -Results of the simulation differ too much from expactations/reality -->Normally I would have expected the backrest to at least do a little motion, but it remains in its position. -Because of the constraints of the seatbelts, the head of the dummy experiences a very high acceleration. -->Is there any chance, that the Belts ease a little bit (in the beginning) and afterwards tension up, just like in reality? -All elements of the part "LINK", ID:6 delete on the beginning of every simulation. I could not figure out the reason for that, neither in the starter file, nor in the engine file. -During the Simulation it reaches one Point, where all the masses go into one single point/node but I can not figure out, why (see attached Video) Please correct me if I am rootedly wrong with my assumptions.   13. Hello, i am a graduate student in ITU Aeronautical Engineering(IDP). i am preparing my thesis. The issue of my Thesis is Flexible multibody analysis of a Landing Gear of a Training Plane. When i analysed the system, i need to compare the results with real test datas. i couldnt achive tests, because of time constraints and very expensive. i think that the closest results can be explicit dynmaic analysis. when i arrenged the explicit dynmaics model and run. i saw there arent any correlation between flex mbd and exp. dynamics anylsis in the same boundry conditions. Can you help me to solve this problem. i asked this question to turkish distrubuter, they get rid of me because of thier job jam. Unfortunately my deadline is very strict, i have to deliver the thesis as soon as possible. My all datas ar in the link below.   15. Hi, I am Yeshwanth, currently working on a project related to Side-Airbag deployment from the seat. I have attached an image(seat_cover_c6airbag.jpg) showing the location of the Airbag located internally. The Airbags volume increases initially and this causes the threads on the seat-cover to fail and hence the airbag deploys outside. To represent the threads on the seat-cover I defined Spring Elements between two nodes(by creating a gap between elements) which would fail (break for airbag deployment) as shown in image 'Spring_elements.jpg'. My concern is the approach of using the Spring elements to represent the thread is just a rough way, however to achieve accurate results I would like to use a connection which would represent the continuous thread from the start to end of the location. Could you please suggest with a connection that would represent the thread in the best possible way? I am using the Softwares HyperMesh, HyperCrash and RADIOSS. Thanks in advance.   16. Hello, I've been trying to set up a simple simulation of a carbon fiber cylinder crashing into a rigid wall. I've been getting an error (error ID 55) in input format that is related to either the property or loadcase. I believe the error lies with the property as I changed the loadcase multiple times (initial velocity to concentrated force etc.) and the error persists. The property being used is property 10: composite shell. The material being used is material 25: orthotropic shell. The 0000.out file is attached. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?   17. George, I appreciate the help. As it turned out, when the CAD model was exported from Solid Edge it changed the model from a surface to a solid, which created the issue you described. Thanks again. If possible, would you be able to help with another issue? I've updated the model and I believe I have a decently working version. When ran in Radioss, it ends with "Normal Termination", 0 Errors, and 0 Warnings, however the simulation ends fairly quickly and doesn't seem to any output data. I'm fairly certain there is some small error that I'm not recognizing due to inexperience. For reference: There are 0 intersections and 0 penetrations, however there is a warning in the model checker: Boundary Condition Cards(1) -> Number of Boundary Conditions (1). Additionally, it is outputting an .OUT, .RST, and .M00 file. I doubt that's relevant, however I'm listing it just to give full info. The .OUT file is attached if it helps any. Again, I'm not sure what is going on as the simulation appears to not have many issues but is not outputting any data. My only guess is the definition of the rigid wall or boundary conditions is incorrect, however I have no evidence to believe so. Cylinder2_NewVersion3_0000.out

Hello, I've been trying to run a fairly basic simulation in HyperCrash using the Radioss solver, however I keep getting an error that shows as: ERROR ID : 119 ** ERROR IN INTERFACE 22 DEFINITION DESCRIPTION : -- INTERFACE ID : 1 -- INTERFACE TITLE : New INTER 1 LAGRANGIAN SURFACE IS EMPTY Additionally, there are a few warnings that show, however I've worked through them before and am less concerned by them. The real problem is the Lagrangian Surface error. I'm fairly certain it's related to the contact surface, however I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas on how to fix it, and what the error is related to? Any help is much appreciated, and the .OUT file is attached if it provides any additional insight.   19. Hello, I am currently carrying out a seat Crash Simulation. I have followed the seat-dummy Simulation process stated in hypercrash tutorials for the same. When I try to the run the Simulation, the engine is crashing every time. The seat geometry is very complex and hence meshed seat contains some intersections which I am unable to fix. I think this might be reason for engine Crash. I am a novice in meshing such complex geometries and as well as Crash simulations. Please do provide any help or suggestions regarding the same.   20. Hi, I am currently trying to simulate quite a simple impact on a wall of several pieces. I have no intersections and no penetrations, the run model checker is all green but when I start the calculation, the remaining time decreases for a little time and then increases with no apparent reason.   21. Hello George, I have the same issue. I would like to fold and inflate a long 20 mm diameter tube, 3.5 meter long, made of airtight nylon. Due to lack of information, manuals and tutorials, I'm really upset and do not know how to make it. What have to be done first and what is next... Is there anywhere a full step-by-step tutorial, how to create and simulate an average airbag (incl. properties, material, cards assignment etc.)? What shall be done first: meshing, folding with Airbag folder, unfolded model, etc.? As I understood, there are different methods of simulation of the inflatable structures. Which one do I need? How to make an gas inlet hole and flow direction? What do you mean with "simulation method". Is it "Folding pre-simulation with Radioss"? Is there a manual how to perform it? Is there anywhere a tutorial, how "Example 4 Airbag" was made? Such questions I'm getting very often, due to lack of information. I have seen a lot of tutorials in Altair help, different presentations, but they are all imperfect, only providing basic information, without describing the process. I really have no imagination what I have to begin with. There are lot of separately described steps no correlating each with other in independent tutorials, but nowhere stays the full sequence of creating and simulation of an airbag Could you please suggest me a full manual (video, PDF, lecture) on how to create and simulate an airbag from scratch? Or maybe write an step-by-step list, what i need to do? I will really appreciate it! Thank you in advance!

  23. Hello, I am a beginer with Altair softwares (v12.0). I am working on modelling the compression of a soft silicon (similar to the skin). I want to introduce viscosity in my model, so I chose a LAW42+prony serie (and I will try LAW82 too). But when I create a property for the silicon, there are lambda_v and mu_v (navier stokes viscosity). And the only thing I know for now is that its viscosity is 20,000-30,000cps. But I do not know what to set (even the unit recquired for those parameters... I am actualy [N mm g ms] system). Can you help me with this please? Furthermore, I do not know what to set for the minimum time step (dt_min). Thanks, Best. Corentin
  24. Hallo, I am writing my bachelor thesis with the help of Altair Hypercrash (version 14.0) and Radioss. Therefore I need to import already meshed data with the file format .pc (PAM-Files) in Hypercrash. However everytime when i try to import this files, i get the errormessage "HM doesn´t work any more" and Hypercrash get closed. Furthermore I am not able to open this data with Hyperworks/Hypermesh, I only get the error message(change name of file): Warning: Unsupported information found in input deck Resolution: Unsupported text written to file: xxx_PC2012.pc1.hmx Can anyone help me with this problem?
