  1. Hello all, In a part of my script the vector coordinates are pulled for a later use. When I execute I have the following error message --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Error: can't read "vx1": no such variable while executing "*createvector 1 $vx1 $vy1 $vz1" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Code: *vectorcreate_twonode $x $y set vectorList [ hm_getmark vectors 1 ]; foreach vct $vectorList { set vx1 [ hm_getentityvalue vectors $vct "xcomp" 0 ] set vy1 [ hm_getentityvalue vectors $vct "ycomp" 0 ] set vz1 [ hm_getentityvalue vectors $vct "zcomp" 0 ] return "{ $vx1 } { $vy1 } { $vz1 }" } *createmark nodes 1 $x *duplicatemark nodes 1 25 set r [hm_entitymaxid nodes 1] *createvector 1 $vx1 $vy1 $vz1 *translatemark nodes 1 1 10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Would be great if someone could tell how to reference the coordinates vx1, vy1 and vz1 in the other parts of the code. Thanks in advance
  2. Hi everyone, I am simulating a tensile test of a homogeneous isotropic material, according to the coupon bar example in "Introduction of Non Linear Finite Element Analysis using Optistruct". I imported a different material and the coupon bar geometry is a bit different. I do not understand why the numerical force -displacement curve decreases after the yielding point, while, for example in the ebook, it follows the input trend. I though the possible problems could be the definition of the true stress-strain curve, or the NLQS parameters NINC and NLOUT, the chosen finite elements (tetrahedral; I used this type because I have to calibrate the material to perform analyses on more complex geometries). Can anyone find the problem? I attach the .fem file (ModelB_prova_NLQS). In additiion I attach a model that behaves as expected (Model2_surf_prova10_NLQS ModelB_prova_NLQS.fem MODEL2_surfs_prova10_NLQS.fem
  3. Hello everyone I have a quite complexe geometry to mesh. For this I have applied 'Check Elements Quality Index', where it shows the quality of the elements. Now I would like to know, if there is a possibility to cut the model, to be able to see the inner contours and how the elements looks there. Then I could have a better overview of the situation and know what to change for the mesh. I thank you in advance for your help!
  4. Is there any way to display the reference geometry in HyperWorks 2019.1 X? In HyperCrash there is an option to display it. But in HyperWorks X I cannot find the way to show the reference geometry, even the "Preview" option does not make it. See the same opened file side by side.
  5. Here is my .hm file. I would to connect the design and non design component as a whole but i still do not manage to do it. Please help me guysss !!!! TRY.hm
  6. Hey! Is there any way to scale single loads, load collectors or load steps in HyperMesh using Optistruct as the solver? Ich can't really find anything. All I found was "use the LOAD controll card". I found it via 'controll cards -->global_case_control --> Load' but it seems that this one just gives the Loadcas ID.
  7. I wanted to apply a load on a surface for which I want to calculate the surface area so that I can apply a pressure load on the surface instead of concentrated load ? Is pressure load applied is evenly distributed on the on surface or it is mesh or node dependent?
  8. DEAR ALL, Now i am using SIMLAB 14.3. upgraded from 14.0. in SIMLAB 14.0 version, i can change the mouse settings by [ Edit--> preference--> system--> mouse settings--> hypermesh] BUT in SIMLAB 14.3 Version, i cant find the EDIT OPTION. so i dont know how to change the mouse setting. i want to use hypermesh mouse settings in SIMLAB. which is convenient for me. so could anyone please help me to solve this.? thanks in advance. best regards. Guru
  9. how to find nearest node in hypermesh. A command or any macro that should search a tolerance of distance like within radius of 30 and then find nodes within that perimeter . lets say, should find nodes adjacent to it.
  10. How to evenly apply a 100N force on a 50mm square surface as a pressure on hypermesh??
