Hello, I have created a 2D model (a simple rectangular panel) and meshed it with quadrilateral elements of size 5. Loads have also been applied to the edges of this panel. Now I want to change the size of the elements to 2 : if I use "automesh" again, all loads will disappear. How can I modify the size of the elements without influencing the loads ? Thank you all
Hello, I am trying to adjust the mesh size in a cylindrical object. Is it possible to vary the mesh size in a 3D object. Using tetramesh, when I select the mesh size to 4, the whole solid is selected but I only want one part of the object to have a mesh size of 4, and the rest to remain at 5 or 6. Please tell me how I can do this. Thank you Kind Regards
Hi, I am using Hyperform 2017.1 Incremental Radioss. I run two simulations. The first one as mesh size 50 and user added material (DP1180). The simulation was successful. But then the second simulation was, with mesh size 2.7 and material as CRQD (default material in the database). The other parameters and the geomtery of the model are the same for both the simulations. The first simulation got over in 30 minutes. For the second simulation, it was able to write till animation file 6 in 20 minutes and then stopped in few min in animation file 7. For you reference, it is in the same animation file 7 for the past two days? Can I quit the process or still it is running? Can you please sort out this. Thank you.
Hello everybody, I want to perform an explicit analysis in radioss. I have read that we follow a time step of 1E-06 sec for steel with minimum element size of 5 mm. In my case the element size goes up to 1 mm. I have gone through the book "Crash Analysis with Radioss", according to which we have to look for two formulae to calculate the time step- one is elemental time step and the other is nodal time step. With an approximate sound speed of 5000 m/s through steel, I calculated the time step of 2E-07 sec [i.e., 1 mm / 5000 m per sec]. But I am not able to figure out how to calculate the nodal time step? Would somebody help me out with this? My question is - how much smaller time step would I require to take (for steel) in this case? [Please suggest me an optimum- rough estimate for the element size of 1 mm for steel by taking into consideration the nodal time step also].
