  1. Hi, When I create a SolidMap for one of my Solids it states in the left bottom corner: "Waring: dest has 2 unmatche fixed points. Node associations my be wrong." And the outcome is this: How can I fix this? Thank you.

Hi, I wanted to do a simulation of a 2D-problem, but when I did the mesh it is obtained differnte size of elements for the left-face and up-face, what I wanted is the left-face obtaine the size of the up-face. I defined both two face wit the same size in the meshcontrol, but at the moment of truth this doesn't happen, so I want to know if it's possible change this above the mesh that alrady is, or if there is some parameter in the meshcontrol that allows to establish the number of element or node for a face or edge. Thank you in advance
  3. Hi all, I am relatively new to HyperMesh and have to mesh a complex structure for a topology optimization for Additiver Layer Manufacturing. Unfortunately I can't share a picture. The structure is one component only and has thin parts with one size very small compared to the others and it has bulky parts. For my understanding shell elements for the thin and solid elements for the bulky parts would be best. Is it and how is it possible to split up the structure to assign shell elements and properties to some parts and solid (e.g. tetra)elements and properties to the bulky parts? Otherwise any recommendations for a general mesh type are welcomed! For a complex structure maybe a tetra mesh would be best? Thank you all.
  4. Hello everyone! I have 3D tetra mesh and in the middle of any particular element of the mesh I have a dot. It seems that this dot means nothing, couldn't find any information about it. But for my project I need to get coordinates of those dots, without coordinates of the mesh. As an example we can get .txt file with coordinates of elements of the mesh. What I need to get is the same .txt file with coordinates but with coordinates of those dots only. Should I use some TCL commands or is there any way to do that? Very grateful for any help!
  5. Hi, I am new in Altaír Simlab. I am currently doing my final degree work and I’m using Altair SimLab to carry out a linear static study to obtain deformations in a planetary system. My problem comes when I want to refine the mesh. I have seen in different videos that it exists a method to create automatic refining. Could you help me by explaining how to apply this method? Manually refining usually causes me problems when I calculate again. I tried to create a response but when I'm going to check the convergence always appears this message.   6. Hi, I have come to learn that, in Flux 3D simulation results vary drastically with change in infinite box size. This, I think may be due to change in mesh. Are there any guidelines in terms of what an ideal mesh setting should be and/or what an ideal infinite box size should be for a typical 3D simulation? In my models, I have been using 'Mesh Domain' option to mesh the geometry. Please advise. Best Regards Balaji
  7. The recommended element size is to have 3 elements by the width of the part. The wall thickness of the part is 4.5mm so I need an element size of 1.5 mm When trying to do so I get a message of too many elements, 23.16 million elements. (23.16 )*4.5(GB)= 104.22GB (Ram memory needed) I have 128 GB Ram memory. Should I enlarge my Ram memory to 256 GB? Please advise.
  8. Hi all, I am working on Synchronous Machines design performing 2D FEM analysis with Flux 2018. I have obtained the post-processing results concerning magnetic flux density distribution in the domain, iron loss figure computed by means of Bertotti formulation and so on. Now I need to access iron losses and magnetic flux density data for each element of the finite-element mesh. This is needed for further investigations, e.g., compute how many mesh elements have a certain magnitude of magnetic flux density. Is it possible? How can I do it? I know that "Computation on points" analysis is available, but it is not useful in this particular case. BR, Marco Biasion

  10. Hello everyone, I have a small doubt regarding the mesh size of the FEM solver when the material inside a 3D body (for RCS consideration) is characterized with some finite conductivity. I can see the standard mesh default for FEM is around `\lambda/10` but with a conductivity of 10 inside a material (`\epislon_r = 1`), the mesh size for standard meshing is around `\lambda/145`.   13. Hi, I've prepared the criteria file for performing batch mesh operation. I've made some continous improvements and feature capture and Quality were improved. But I can't improve the flow. There are many opposite trias in the mesh (As shown in the attached picture). Even I've enabled Aggresive Tria Reduction. It doesn't give me the flow I'm looking for. When I run my model with the default solver (I guess it is MOM), I get an error which says "ERROR 33238: Not enough memory available on the hard disk for an out-of-core file" though I already have 8 GB of RAM and more than 200 GB of free HDD space. However, when I switch to FDTD solver, it doesn't show up the error, but it takes a really really long time. I have attached the model to this post.   15. I have been trying to repair a STL file so that I can run it on my CADFEKO. However, after repairing it on FreeCAD, it still shows an error and that is --- "The triangle number 1 has neither an edge nor a connection point".   17. Hi! I'm trying to mesh a solid with TetraMesh and it states the following error: "2 edges failed nodal setup. Meshing failed". But I can't see anything wrong or red colored or anything that tells me where the mistake is. Even with visualisation options. The solid is created properly with bounding surfaces so I guess there are not free edges. Could you help me?
  18. Hi,I am trying to simulate a bird impact on a plate with RADIOSS. So I am creating my model on hypermesh now, i chose to consider the bird as a fluid with a density of 438 kg/m3. I would like to work with SI units and the dimensions of the bird are : 0.1325m long cylinder with two hemisphere ends having a radius of 0.075m. I am now trying to mesh this geometry with the SPH module in hypermesh. So i entered a pitch of 1e-3m and a density of 438kg/m3 as i said before. But when i create the mesh, nothing happen and i only get this message "0 mass elements created". I attached my file with the topic. I don't know what could be my error, more of that I tried to do it using mm instead of m and it worked... But I really want to use SI units. Thank you in advance for your help, Gaspard.   21. Hello. I've been struggling with the simulation of a sensor consisting of a coil with a ferromagnetic core and a magnet. The main output to analyse is the voltage induced on the coil by a rotating target. I'm modeling the coil as stranded-coil conductor coupled with a series resistor (see attached circuit.png). When measuring the voltage across the coil, I'm looking at very high fluctuations in voltage (see attached results.png), if I take the derivative of the flux (flux.png) through the coil, the behavior is minimized a bit, but still present. Any ideas to improve this high variation? Thanks.
  22. Hello, I have a 2D surface meshed using tria-shell elements (Img 1) which I would like to use as a reference and mesh it onto the solid object (Img 2). Presently I need to define equivalence between both components which results in element distortion due mis-matched element's position and size. How can I use the shell elements of the surface component to "project/map" 3D elements in to the solid component? The solid component was created using the base surface and 3 addition surfaces as bounding surface. Regards
  23. Hello riecently I start to work in your programm HyperMesh, I enjoy it very mush, so many posobilities! "Ngn vet inte vad han skall fästa blicken på", as we say. And becouse I am in the 3d printing theme. (Frankly, for me it is almost art! ) I really want to use your program for meshing some breathtaking geometries for my customers. They need some speciefic requirements in the main strength characteristics. Ussually I used Abaqus for this properties but for complex geometry it could be sometimes very tricky and I was recomended to use your program. Could you tell me how to mesh complex stl model in Hypermesh, please? As I uderstood, reading your forum, first of all I need to do open stl: File > Import > File type > STL; then I need to create a geometry from mesh: Geom > surfaces from FE (elems - all; feature edges; complexity 10) [sometimes Hyper writes that he failed to create some surfaces, wich is oddly]; And then I can`t create solid, Hyper writes created 0 solid elements and 0 nodes
  24. Hello, I want to make a thermal simulation of a cooling plate in hyperworks with the AcuSolve Solver. The geometry would be this: Where an aluminium cooling plate (the grey solid) is in contact with a water flow (blue volume). The problem is that I can't get a mesh with coincident nodes between both volumes, taking into acount that for the AcuSolve simulation I need two surfaces in the interface between the solid and the liquid volume. Do you have any solution for it? Thanks in advance.
  25. Hi, I have a structure made of 3d solid map hex mesh elements, ie. primitive unit cells (see primitive image attached). I have turned my hex mesh elements into bar2 elements. I would like to create a central node to the primitive unit cell and connect bar elements to this central node (see body centred cubic image). I know this will most likely be a TCL script problem but I'm not sure how the script would be written. I have successfully created the primitive unit cell and used config edit tool to create bar2 elements (CBEAM's) But I would now like to do this with elements connected to a central node.
