  2. FEM model for eigenvalue analysis was created with Femap with NASTRAN. The file extension is dat. However, the analysis at NASTRAN took a very long time. So, I want to import this into HyperMesh, and perform eigenvalue analysis with Optistruct. When I operated as shown, I got the following error: *** ERROR # 827 *** Invalid ASET run, PARAM,EXTOUT,DMIGPCH or PARAM,EXTOUT,DMIGBIN must be specified for DMIG output. How do I resolve the error? Reference documents are more helpful. Also, I want to perform frequency response analysis with Optistruct on the same model too. The following is an excerpt of dat data. Dear all, In my company, we are using Nastran and Patran to do frequency response simulation and random response simulation, but I see that Optistruct could do the same, did any one have a comparison between the two software? I mean whether the response stress/acc/dis is same in a more complex situation. Looking forward to your answers. Thanks!
  4. Hello all, I need to perform a Thermal Analysis on a Satellite. In order to do it so simulating the space thermal environment is needed.   6. Hi.... I have switched from Hypermesh 12.0 to 14.0 but having a problem in exporting the property name in Nastran (Long Format) and opening in ANSA. The names are retained in the standard format but they becomes default when I export the model in the Long Format of Nastran in HM 14.0 and open in ANSA software. I have never faced such problem in 12.0. Kindly suggest the solution. Thanks

I have exported my model to .dat file and after opening the .dat file in text file, i am getting the lines as displayed in the attached image. it is like, $HMMOVE 45 $ 11538THRU 11572 $HMMOVE 46 $ 11746THRU 11792 $HMMOVE 47 $ 11875THRU 11895 $HMMOVE 48 $ 12050THRU 12091 $HMMOVE 49 $ 12182THRU 12205 $HMMOVE 50 $ 12293THRU 12317 $HMMOVE 51 $ 12472THRU 12511 i am not aware of this type of lines.   9. I have exported my model to .dat format for nastran solver. While reviewing the .dat file, I found that, the co-ordinate points for nodes are not in same order (in terms of precision). Is there any settings to keep the precision of the node co-ordinates same in all directions. Sample is shown in image.. Thanks, Prabhu P
  10. I have run Nastan Sol400 calculation. However I am unable to load .dat model and .op2 files in HyperView. Nastran input deck was created using Beta CAE ANSA but this shouldn't be the issue. I am also able to pull out the model and result in Beta CAE Meta. Any suggestions?
  11. I am creating MSC Nastran input deck using HyperMesh. I have the model where I want to apply multiple loads in steps. Step-1 Bolt Preload Step-2 External Force on model holding the preload applied in Step1 Step-3 No load at all but bolt preload If I create different loadsteps from Utility, it seems they are going under different subcases, and in such scenario the loads would not be dependent. Each subcase would be treated as different simulation, wouldn't it? So my question is how do I create sequential steps? The .dat file should look like below. Sol 400 CEND STRAIN(PLOT)=ALL STRESS(PLOT)=ALL DISPLACEMENT(PLOT)=ALL FORCE(PLOT)=ALL ANALYSIS = NLSTATICS NLSTEP = 1 STEP 1 SPC = 1 LOAD = 1 STEP 2 SPC = 2 Load = 2 STEP 3 SPC = 2 BEGIN BULK $----------------------------------------------------------$
  12. Hey everyone, I have a .bdf file (the solver deck file required for NASTRAN). Hypermesh creates this file by the export process. My work requires that I edit the .bdf text, but also use the graphical features of Hypermesh. I would like to find a way of retaining user-added comments in the .bdf. Let me explain: 1. Create mesh 2. Export as .bdf 3. Comment the .bdf file appropriately -BUT- 4. When I re-import to HM and export, my comments are removed. Is there a way to keep them? Hypermesh will keep comments that are attached to material properties (for example, if I add a comment to a MAT1 card, they will stay with import/export) Thanks for any help!
  13. Hi All, Im trying to run a DOE in hyperstudy using nastran as solver. Once i click evaluate task for 100 Iterations it runs fine for the first 4 runs, then the nastran gives an error "Analysis has stopped due to ......" Nastran open 100 tabs for all the 100 runs. But in the hyperstudy i can see for all the 100 tasks it evaluated "success" for write, execute and extract.. Can someone help me in executing this? Do we need to give any extra parameter to run with nastran? Thanks in Advance Manikanth

  15. Hi guys, I am using HM in NX Nastran profile. I am working in Sol 109. I would like to define PARAM W3, but the PARAM W3 is not found in PARAM control cards. So I try to add it in dat file manually. It is not working. Please advise. Thank you in advance.
  16. Hi, I'm currently experencing a problem with hypermesh in Nastran user profile. I've created an include file with my SETS. This include file has to be in the control section if I wanna use sets in punch files. I managed to locate it there through the 'INCLUDE_CTRL" option in control cards panel, but I can't delete the one created by default in the bulk section in hypermesh. How can I do? Thanks.

Dear all, A month ago , i am using OPTISTRUCT solver to conduct Normal mode analysis. we have changed the solver from Nastran to opitstruct. so i have few questions. 1.with using one optistruct license, is it possible to do multi tasking. ( Means, to conudct two or more analysis at a time). 2. is it possible to increase the speed of analysis. because i can see the cores & processors option. 3. Any import tips or tricks to ease the analysis process. if you guys know the answer for any of the above question. please do let me know.

  19. Hi, im looking to import a NASTRAN mesh into ANSYS. This can be done directly in workbench, but a lot of information is lost. Specifically I would like to maintain named selections / components - so my strategy was to bring the Nastran bdf into hypermesh, create my groups there, and then export as a cdb before importing it into workbench The problem is whenever I export to cdb I only get nodes in the *.cdb, no elements. I am using Hypermesh 14.0 - anyone have a workaround for this? Thanks ! Tyler
  20. Recently im working on an assignment. I have exported solver deck from hypermesh and run it in NASTRAN but the NASTRAN is not creating punch file(.pch).Can anybody help me with this issue. It is creating all other files e.g .f06, .f04,.dball,etc. Can i use these files to do post-processing in hypermesh or PATRAN?

  22. hello ! I have imported a mesh (.nas) into feko and it seems okay , but when i wanted to save the matrix elements into *.mat file I get an error saying that the mat file couldn't be opened, any suggestions to solve this issue ?! Thank you !
  23. Hi, I want to add temp point on my model and do analysis and then in Nastran output or fem output I can read the analysis (displacement or stress of that point), i mean in output the temp node be like a grid point or sth that analysis performed for that too. Best, Mohammad
  24. Hi, I Stick into a problem. I defined a hyperbeam in this format: standard, Nastran, and box, then I defined Pbeaml in properties and assign this beam section to it. when I run with Optistruct, that error appear: "PBEAML 2663 0 MSCBML0 BOX +" *** ERROR # 1000 *** in the input data: Incorrect data in field # 3.
