  1. 板構造であれば構造全体にType7インターフェースを設定する事で、多くの場合、接触の問題は十分に対応できますが、Type7インターフェースは、あくまでも面と点の接触であるため、シェルのエッジやとがったソリッドの先端が接触するような場合、面と点はまだ接触していなくても、要素同士で見ると貫通が生ずることが起こり得ます。これに対応するエッジ接触がType11インターフェースです。 Type11インターフェースでは線(エッジ)と線(エッジ)の接触を取り扱います。線と成り得るのは、ビーム、トラス、スプリングといった線要素と、シェル、ソリッドの辺(エッジ)です。 接触のアルゴリズムとしては、線と線の接触である、と言う点を除けばType7と同じです。各線からギャップを考慮し、線同士の距離がその範囲に入ったときに接触と判断されます。こうして、シェルのエッジ同士等の接触を取り扱うことができますが、接触の相手の検索の効率がType7程は高くないため、Type7のように全体に与える、といった事はせずに、エッジ接触が起こりそうな部分のみに設定するようにします。
  2. Hello together, At the moment I am working on impact simulations in Radioss. I have an aluminium cylinder (solid elements, MAT Law 2, Initial Velocity) impacting a rigid wall. The total energy (TE = KE + IE) should be constant, but there is a jump in the curve. The DTE curve remains constant. The external work shows a decrease, too. Is my simulation correct? Should i use the DTE curve instead of the TE curve for validation?

Dear Forum, for a project I want to simulate the effect on a person who is driving a car with 13.88 m/s (50 km/h) and crashes into an obstacle with a 90° angle towards the obstacle (straight front crash). The person is represented by a dummy (50% Male), the seat structure was modeled by altair, as well as the dummy. I created two seatbelts with the Hypercrash tool Belt Generator (Hypercrash --> Safety --> Belt Generator) and deformed the seat with the seat deformer (old) (Hypercrash --> Safety --> Seat Deformer --> Geometrical displacement (old)). Due to simplification I removed the complete lower sector of the seat group and replaced it with a rigid body, which is linked to the floor and the seat. I built the model as follows: Loadcases: -Initial velocity: applied to all parts of the model (13.88 m/s) -Imposed velocity: A function, which decreases the speed from 13.88m/s to 0 within 30 ms. Applied to all parts but the dummy itself. -Gravity load: To maintain physical correctness of the dummys motion. -Added Mass: Applied to all nodes of the dummy to be representative for the human weight. Boundary Conditions: -BC for the seat: All degrees of freedom are locked except for the translation in X-axis (which is the direction of motion). This is applied only for the floor and the ground part of the seat. Contact Interfaces: -Interior contact: Contact between the two seat layers (was set by altair when I imported the model, I did not change any values) -Seat to floor: Contact seat to floor (TYPE7) -Feet to floor: Contact feet to floor (TYPE10) -Seatbelt to dummy: Contact upper/lower seatbelt to dummy/seat (TYPE7) -Dummy to seat: Contact Dummy to seat (TYPE7) The problems I am facing now are: -The Runtime for a single simulation is about 9500 seconds. Can this be regarded as normal, considering the model complexicity? -Results of the simulation differ too much from expactations/reality -->Normally I would have expected the backrest to at least do a little motion, but it remains in its position. -Because of the constraints of the seatbelts, the head of the dummy experiences a very high acceleration. -->Is there any chance, that the Belts ease a little bit (in the beginning) and afterwards tension up, just like in reality? -All elements of the part "LINK", ID:6 delete on the beginning of every simulation. I could not figure out the reason for that, neither in the starter file, nor in the engine file. -During the Simulation it reaches one Point, where all the masses go into one single point/node but I can not figure out, why (see attached Video) Please correct me if I am rootedly wrong with my assumptions. Hi all, I want to analyse kinematics of rotating elements in the bearing 1. when inner ring is fixed and outer is Rotating, 2. when outer ring is fixed and inner is Rotating, Effect of RMP on rolling elements in terms of deformation and contact stresses is the major objective. loading condition is given in following image. please revert with suitable solver for the same.   8. Hi, I used collision detection tool to find the intersection and penetration on the model. In my model there is a gap of 5mm between two components, but in collision detection tool its showing as a penetration as indicated by vectors.(as in below image) Secondly, within the same component its showing as penetration as indicated by vector arrows. (Image attached below) But when checking with the simple intersection tool (Analysis>safety>intersection) these are not shown. How to resolve these. Thanking You.

Dear All, I have imposed time vs disp curve as a loading. but getting reaction force value= 6.9 KN at time =0 sec at first frame, and at second frame t=0.001sec value is showing 8N then after increase in next frames it is showing linear increase in reaction force from 8N to 1KN. My question is, why the value of rection force is high at time =0

  11. 材料則2(Johnson-Cook則)は鋼材やアルミ等の金属材料の材料則として、良く用いられるものですが、そのパラメータは以下のようにして求めることが出来ます。 まず、引張り試験の実測の応力-ひずみ曲線から真応力-真ひずみ(対数ひずみ)の関係に変換し、更に真ひずみからσ/Eで弾性成分を差し引いて、縦軸真応力、横軸真塑性ひずみのグラフが得られているものとします。Johnson-Cookの式はひずみ速度依存と温度依存を除くと、 σ=a + b εpn の指数関数で降伏後の硬化曲線を近似しますが、この式は、 σ- a = b εpn の形にした後で、両辺の対数をとれば、 log(σ- a) = log(b εpn) = log(b) + n log(εp) と直線になります。これらのパラメータのうちaは降伏応力ですのでεpが0のときのσの値で、後はbとnを決めれば良い事になりますが、対数の形にした後は直線ですので、最小2乗法を用いれば、実測σ-εpの関係からフィッティングを行うことが出来ます。 実測のカーブからのデータ処理の詳細は、Radiossユーザーズ/リファレンスガイドの例題11-引張り試験をご覧ください。
  12. Hello everyone, For the first time we are working with series of radioss files. At a given time of the calculation , for example at t=10s, we would like to continue the calculation by deleting a component. The reason is that this componenet is RDX gaz and is causing problems at the interfaces at a time he is no longer important in our model. In the HELP documentation we found that it was possible to delete a defined set or list of elements, but we are trying to delete an entire component, If any one could help us please ! In the new file of calculation _002.rad we want to use /DEL/????? for example like /DEL/Component

  16. Hello everyone, What's the meaning of message which showed in solver view window (As I know, the same message is also written to _0001.out file). The figure below shows an example of the output message. What's the meaning of every column parameter, especially the ERROR parameter? What's more, the ERROR becomes 99.9% implying what? Best Wishes.   18. Hi, I have started applying AMS in RADIOSS v14.0 .Initially the simulation is running and after some time. Later an error is sprouting .Pl see the below error message. ** ERROR : AMS IS LIKELY DIVERGING: TOTAL C.G. ITERATION NUMBER = 1000 AT CYCLE NUMBER 1239 Can you suggest a possible soultion to curb this? The values recorded in .OUT file are normal. in the sense there is no abnormalities in %energy error or mass error%. I do not know where the problem is, please help me look at it?   19. Hi all, I want to run a Radioss analysis of a layered structure under impact. As my layers are too thin to be modeled with 3D elements, I want to use midsurfacing tool. Relative to that, I have 2 questions: 1. One thing I ask myself since the beginning of using midsurface is : should I translate the components relatively to the new midsurface ? ie. if a ball impacts a table, should I translate the midsurface of the table up, to make contact at the right time ? I would say you do not have to translate it as you indicate the thickness, but in my simulations, contact does not begin (vonMises stress = 0 ) before I can visually detect it. So I always translate my components, though it seems weird to me... 2. As I said, I want to model a structure comprised of different sheets of materials, which I would like to model as 2D elements. Problem : - At first, my 3D components are in contact (if it had been a 3D mesh, I would have liked to have a continuous mesh) - When I do the midsurface for each sheet, they have a gap; which is normal but which I wonder about : I suppose I should not translate my midsurfaces, however contact is not detected and I would like to use continuous meshing instead of interface option. Hope that was clear enough. If you can give me some answers to my questions, it would be very helpful. Thank you in advance, Alice

I'm carrying out roll over analysis on box as shown in attached image. i've assigned initial velocity along axis and got the box roatating, the problem i'm facing here is the box is being thrown upward and its not falling on the base.do i need to assign gravity? if so how?
  24. Hi there, I am trying SPH INOUT Collector for simulating water flow at a certain speed in a tank and a pole at middle of the tank. My aim is to capture the vortex formation around the pole. But first of all I'am unable to define properly the INOUT condition (SPH is moving away from the inlet boundary). A set of SHP Particles moving and collides with other (as shown below) At outlet I defined atm. pressure function. I am attaching the deck with the simulation HV video to represent my problem.   25. Radioss explicit analysis process completed successfully, 0 errors, 0 warnings but animation file not generating. Some window of HV Trans is opening and nothing can be done except closing it.
