  1. Hello. I've been struggling with the simulation of a sensor consisting of a coil with a ferromagnetic core and a magnet. The main output to analyse is the voltage induced on the coil by a rotating target. I'm modeling the coil as stranded-coil conductor coupled with a series resistor (see attached circuit.png). When measuring the voltage across the coil, I'm looking at very high fluctuations in voltage (see attached results.png), if I take the derivative of the flux (flux.png) through the coil, the behavior is minimized a bit, but still present. Any ideas to improve this high variation? Thanks.

  3. Hello, The situation is as follows:- I solve a model. CASE 1: Load Model: .h3d file Load Results: .h3d file I find everything OK. the results are good. Same Model (Solved File) CASE 2: Load Model: .fem file Load Results: .h3d file Results very different from the initial results.(Magnitude of results are very very less). Now i am doing this because i have created a few sets in my model which .h3d file won't read. Then i checked my fem file and it has details of all my element sets created. So i run .fem file along with .h3d file. I get all my sets as created in hypermesh but results would significantly differ. Can anyone help me in resolving this issue. Thank you.

  5. Hi, I made a CFD simulation in Hypermesh using AcuSolve. After running the simulation and trying to display the results according to the video posted at the end, I'm required to select a file. However, no .log files are created as on the video and any of the ones created work. Also, unlike on the tutorial, I'm asked to select a Reader, and I don't know which one to use. Can anybody tell me how to make sure .log files (and any others necessary to display results) are created when running the simulation and which Reader to use?
  6. Hello everyone. I got some pretty strange behaviour of my Solution. 1. The canister seems to float away since the displaced surface at the bottom belongs to the canister 2. The canister itself moves up/down to the plates. In fact it stretches against the plates. general Model: I try to simulate the pressure of the upper plate on the canister, which is limited by the solid lower plate. The Model file is in the attachement. Thanks for your help P.S.: I'm pretty much a beginner in Hypermesh/Optistruct 1mmModelV1.hm
  7. Hello, I run the optimization without errors. However when I check the results in the iso mode, the final step shows an model without elements already at an iso-value of 0.02 (only the non-design elements left). What am I doing wrong? The hist.mvw and the .out files attached belong to the mvw and hm files (when saving I only changed the version from 2 to 3). Could anybody please help me?   8. Hello, I was wondering how the query commands are used in Hypermesh. For example, if I wanted to use the query command hm_getnodessharedbyothercomps, where would I apply this command in Hypermesh and how could I see the resulting node IDs? Thank you in advance, Alex
  9. hi, I would like to know if there is a trick to visualize fatigue results of an .odb file generated by FE-Safe. Because when I load the file to Hyperview, all the results generated are N/A ( Safety Factor , S/UTS etc) but exists when I open the same file into Abaqus Viewer for example. For info, additional fatigue step results is created by FE-SAFE after a required .odb loadcase results. Thank you.

  11. Hello, I have a question regarding the presentation of results. Find attached two pictures of the same result presented in Inspire and Hyperview (from scratch directory. fem & h3d). You can see the result of a screw pretension. The stress distribution look extremely different and i'm a little bit surprising. Is there any reason for that? Best Regards, Mario Pretension.stmod
  12. Hi all, I am very new to using Optistruct and I'm having a weird issue. I run my model and the output file gives me zero errors. When I open the results some of the geometry from my model is missing. Specifically, it's the part of the geometry where the load is applied. Does anyone know why this happens and how to get the geometry to appear in the results? thank you!
  13. Is it possible to convert the results of c2c into H3D format (for HyperView) after the solver run? Or does it have to be done before starting the simulation ? According to the help pdf, the optio exist in Config Options. I already have the results in c2c and want to avoid rerunning the same simulation, just to get H3D format.
  14. Greetings Forum Members, I am writing to understand the various result options (especially in stresses and strains) available in Optistruct (or any solver) Post-processing. Usually everyone follows the industry thumb rule of looking at VonMises stresses, Displacement (Mag) and Plastic Strain or equivalent plastic strain. But there are a lot of other result options available but many never seem to use it. I have attached screen shots of the some of the various result options (Stresses and Strains) available below:- Could anyone Kindly go through the above results options and explain the differences between them also establish a understanding of when to use them. For example, 1) what is the difference between VonMises, VonMises (Z1), VonMises (Z2), VonMises (mid). What does the Z1, Z2 and Mid imply? 2) what is the difference between P1 Major Z1, P1 Major Z2, P1 Major Mid and P1 Minor ? Even a simple answer in simplistic terms would suffice. Also kindly share any reference material available in understanding the results? What to look for after the analysis has been completed? Thank you. Best Regards, Bharat Pinapati

  16. Hello, Optistruct stores all iterations of optimization as standard. It is possible to determine what is stored? For example, if i would like to save only the initial, first and last iteration of the topology iteration. Thank you
  17. Hello, i need your help... i have the topology optimization results of different FEA Solvers. Now i would like to reanalyze it in hypermesh. All optimizations based on the same mesh. For the reanalysis i have the .fem Modell. For each optimization i have a result file in the form: element_id density 1 0.1 2 0.121 3 0.9 ... Its a file with several thousand lines.. I would like to do this steps: 1)load the .fem file 2)load the result file 3)create components for the elements with the same density 4)create properties for every density 5)assign the property with the corresponding density to the elements --> reanalyse I dont know how to implement this. I have no experiance with programming in hypermesh. Is there a way to do this? In return, I will present my results here. Thany you Regards Andreas
  18. Hello, can you tell me? I am not getting the complete result of my topology optimization. I wanna do topology optimization of the differential case of differential gear box. My FEA analysis is fine but optimization results are showing only in blue and red region form in element density. and how to compare of our final result from our original model that how much material we can or did remove from the model?

  20. Hello all, I am post processing results of my analysis in HyperView. I want to probe results and take screenshots of the same for a report. When I use the 'Query' tool it helps me probe the results however it displays node number on the screen. I want to view stress/strain on the screen instead of the node number as it is easier to see the value on the model instead of reading the node number and then looking it up in the table. Can someone please tell me how to solve this? It will be a big help. Thanks
  21. Hi, I'm looking for a possibility to evaluate tensile test results. That means I have done a tensile test analysis in hyperworks (imposed velocity...) and the same test also on a test bench in reality. So I have the real results (force/displacement diagram, stress/strain diagram) and want to compare the simulation with these results. But I couldn't find a way to do this comparison. Do you have any idea how to handle the simulation results? Maybe create a stress strain or force displacement result in hyper view/hypergraph? Thank you very much for your help!
  22. Hello! I am wondering if there is any way to refresh the result in hyperview while keeping the post-processing style used. Currently, I am saving the session (.mvw) file and reopening it everytime I have new analysis results. If I open the result file, hyperview removes all of the post-processing style I used. It is kind of annoying to reopen the whole session just to update a result from one analysis. I wish there was a refresh result button or an option to keep actual style when opening a result file. I am sure it would be easy to implement this as the "apply style" option easily tranfers a style to a result window. Maybe it exists but I don't know where. Anyone having the same needs? Anyone knows another trick? Thanks in advance!
