Hello all, I am attempting to use some RBE3 elements to apply loads and I am receiving this error: A fatal error has been detected during input processing: *** ERROR # 774 *** When a grid's component has no stiffness, then that component cannot be an independent d.o.f. in an RBE3. RBE3 id = 270584 grid id = 326669 weighted components = 123 max d.o.f with stiff = 1 Would greatly appreciate some advice regarding this. Thanks
  2. 剛な物体の表現や物体の結合に良く用いられるツールに剛体(/RBODY)があります。これはマスター・スレーブ型運動条件の一つで、独立な自由度であるマスター節点と複数のスレーブ節点の節点群からなります。計算手法としてはまず、独立自由度であるマスター節点で運動方程式が解かれ、スレーブ節点はマスター節点との相対位置が変わらないように強制移動される、という様にして用いられます。剛体の移動をマスター節点でまず代表させる事から、マスター節点については、その節点座標がどこに入力されてもデフォルトでは計算時にその剛体の重心位置に移動されます。これはICoGオプションで変更可能です。 剛壁(/RWALL)も壁面の簡易的なモデル化としてよく用いられますが、これもマスター・スレーブ型運動条件として取り扱われます。固定剛壁であれば、その座標と法線等から規定される面の位置を求め、移動剛壁であればそのマスター節点の運動方程式を解いてその位置を求めて剛壁面を定め、その面を超えたスレーブ節点があれば、表面上まで強制的に引き戻す、という様にして計算されます。剛壁としては無限平面だけでなく、円筒面、球面、平行四辺形面が用意されています。また、移動剛壁では、その質量を与えて運動法手式を解くことで移動も表現できますが、あくまでも併進移動のみで回転は表現できません。 タイドインターフェース(デフォルト)、剛体、剛壁はいずれもマスター・スレーブ型運動条件ですので、そのスレーブ節点はそれぞれの従属自由度になります。従って、この節点に対して、他の運動条件(タイドインターフェースのスレーブ、剛体、剛壁、拘束、強制変位等)が加わると、一つの節点に対して複数の拘束条件が加わったことになり、矛盾(運動条件の非適合:Incompatible Kinematic Conditions)が生じます。これは、指定された拘束条件が無視されたり、時としてとんでもなく大きなエネルギーを生んだりしますので、エラーではなくワーニングですが、注意を払うことが必要です。
  3. Hi, Is it possible to simulate a rigid body mechanism similar to rigid MBD? Bodies and joints have to be perfectly rigid to avoid jamming/binding closed kinematic chain mechanisms. Attached is the sample containing RBODY elements connected through revolute Kjoint2, which is defined with stiffness so there is some unwanted compliance. Any ideas or workarounds to carry out kinematic studies in Radioss? rigid_body_mechanism.hm
  4. Hello Everyone, I have a complete model in Hypermesh: components, mesh, materials, properties, .... I would like to export that model from Hypermesh to Ansys Workbench, so that someone who does not work with Hypermesh can use Workbench. Firstly, I followed the tutorial HM-4410 from Hypermesh Help (https://altairhyperworks.com/hwhelp/Altair/hw13.0/help/hm/introduction_to_ansys_model_setup_-_hm-4410.htm?toc=0&printWindow). Then, I added sensors for different types of elements and I export a .cdb file; as you can read in the tutorial. Later, I imported the flie .cdb to Ansys Workbench following a You Tube video (How to import Meshed file from hypermesh to ansys). However, when I open the Model clicking twice on the tap Finite Element Modeler, Ansys can't show all type of elements specifically elements 1D (mass, rod, beam, rigids, etc). In my case, the model has rigid, spring, shell, rod and beam elements; so I am reading in several tutorials and forums that rigid elements don't need a sensor but Ansys can't read them. My question is: what do I have to do to get an identical model in hypermesh and ansys? The pictures below show a simple model with that problem. In the first one you can see the hypermesh model with 1580 nodes and 1498 elements (shell, rigid, mass), and the other two pictures depict the ansys model (Finite element model). Ansys model has 1580 nodes and 1495 elements, so the three rigids elements (CERIG) haven not been read. Thank you for your time.

  6. I'm trying to incorporate mesh independent 1D spotweld/rigid/beam elements between 2/more BIW panels via contact interface and seem unable to execute. Error: *** ERROR # 2371 *** SET SSID on CONTACT 1 is empty. (1D elements in slave set)
  7. Good morning, at the moment I'm doing some tests for an upcoming optimization. I use HM 14.0 with Optistruct. I want to simulate a simplified suspension.If I model the suspension rods with CONROD-Elements, the following error message appears: *** ERROR # 153 *** Exactly zero pivoting encountered during Numerical Factorization; the model may have rigid body mode. Solver error no. = -503 spc set id = 1 index = 1 Possible reasons are: 1) insufficiently constrained model, 2) having rigid body mechanisms within the model, 3) extremely ill-conditioned rigid element sets, 4) extremely thin shells (as used for skinning) that have MID2/MID3, 5) gap elements with extremely high stiffness (KA, especially KT or MU). Check the model and rerun the problem. (MECHCHECK may be used to find the rigid body modes. To do so, change the input to be an eigenvalue analysis and add MECHCHECK.) (WARNING: results obtained with MECHCHECK cannot be used because the model is changed internally.) This error was detected in subroutine bcsmtxfct. If I turn MECHCHECK on, the max. displacement is 0.008061 mm. When I replace the CONROD Elements with nearly stiff CBEAM Elements, the error message disappears. The max. displacement is 0.00769227 mm. To my knowledge, the suspension rods are just tension and compression rods. Could you help me, why I get the error message? I attached the file.   8. Hello, I am trying to build a rigid mbd model with rigid bodies engaging in 2D rigid-to-rigid contact. I have defined curves where the contacts will occur, using the Add Curve functionality. Attached images 1.png, 2.png and 3.png from my curve panel, showing the settings I am using for all three contact curves. As you can see, in the Z direction, they all have the same value as 0. So they are indeed coplanar as they all line on the XY plane. I proceed to define a 2D rigid-to-ridig contact. Attached image, contact.png, shows my settings for one of the contacts I use. I have also made sure to correctly define the contact sides; so there are no problems there either. Finally, attached image, error.png, shows two of the error messages I'm getting. All my error messages are the same so I am only showing those two. It is telling me my curve graphics are not coplanar. However, what it seems is that they actually are indeed coplanar. I would be grateful for any help to fix this problem. Best regards

SIR, I have encountered an error saying id, RIGID MATERIAL LAW cant be used along with AMS- Advanced mass scaling, Try modeling as \rigidbody, but i havent found any rigid body except 1d rigidss, can you guide me through this as i am doing imposed displacement problem.   11. I am conducting a drop test of a head having a helmet. I have received the surface file of the head and I do not know the Material properties of the helmet, but I know its mass. Is there a way I can do the 2D mesh of this body and not give any material as I dont have props but just give mass? Thanks, Datta

  13. HI all, I am an ABAQUS user and a newbie to Optistruct. I am simulating a simple spring compression simulation and have a few queries. 1) What is the element type to be assigned for the 2D - rigid plate to be used ? 2) In ABAQUS, no material property definition is needed for rigid. Is it the same in Optistruct ? 3) For the spring, I have used CPENTA for penta6 and CHEXA for hex8 elements. Is it correct ? 4) What is the equivalent to R3D4 of ABAQUS in Optistruct? Thanks in advance for your help.
  14. Hello everybody I am a new user of Hyperworks softwares. I'm doing the tutorials of hypermesh and radioss. I am encountering a problem with the tutorial RD-3510: Cantilever Beam with Bolt Pretension. I get the following error in Tool > Model Checker > Radioss Block "Rbody ID is different from master ID" I don't understand this error and I don't know how to solve it. I have just attentively followed the tutorial. Moreover I tried to run Radioss, keeping the error. The job is completed but I don't get any hyperview file. How can I deal to get an Hyperview file please ? Thank you
  15. Hi everyone, I'm new to radioss. I'm trying to solve an drop test analysis in radios.I have solved this by making a 0.1 mm thickness pad as rigid wall. Nut i could not get reaction force or impact load as result. somewhere in this forum i have read that creating rigidwall using RWALL gives reaction forces on the wall. So i want to ask 2 questions listed them below. Kindly answer them in any way you can. Any help is appreciated 1) Is there some way that i can get reaction forces for the current setup ( pad 0.1 mm as rigidwall) ? if yes, please be kind and let me know how i can do that. 2) If rigidwall (RWALL) is good option, hoiw do I create it? if any of you have any study material or link that you can share, please do. I'm in trouble with this one.
  16. Hi, I would like to connect the "bracing_1" to "bracing_2" and connect the "bracing_2" to "flange" component, representing a weld, without remeshing any of them. I've tried spot, seam and area connectors with various options but none of them worked, after running the simulation, the connected components weren't constrained together. What is the most simple method to connect components with non-connecting mesh? Thank you aecyd tubes.zip
