  1. The tcl command *set_meshedgeparams 0 1 0 does not seem to work in HM 2017 however it works just fine in 14. Is there any reason this could be happening and any way to correct it ? I am trying to use *set_meshedgeparams as a precursor command to *hmmeshspline Are any of the above commands deprecated in HM 2017 ? Thanks. Any help is appreciated.

  5. Hi, I have Created a geometry using TCL. As soon as i run it with Radioss it pops an error ERROR IN RIGID BODY DEFINITION (INERTIA) Now when i simply imported the Radioss file the Cylinder component is not present. I am posting a picture of it below with a component vanished also I am posting the complete cylinder after I run it in TCL. Could you tell me what the error is because even after commented the whole program and check by seeing the command.tcl file (while manually creating it in the GUI) i didn't find any difference. I am specifying the subhead of the TCL code where I have written the code about the cylinder meshing (It is on line 83) ### Cylinder component for meshing kkkk.hm kkkk_0000.out kkkk_0000.rad kkkk_0001.rad V1tcl V2.tcl
  6. Hey Guys! I would like to ask you that do you know such kind of script that could import data from a .csv file and export it to a .rad file to change material data or something. I would like to accelerate my work in RADIOSS to manipulate the .rad file. I would like to change the .rad file as fast as possible, that's why I thought about script. Thanks for your anwer in advance! Best regards, Tüki
  7. Hi, I am trying to create a tcl script that is supposed to find the element normal direction for a component/body. I want to run the script in batch mode and obtain the output (normal direction) in a text file. Is there any way I can achieve this? Please refer to the attached snapshots for better understanding. Note: All element normals for a particular body are in the same direction. Thanks & Regards, Roshan
  8. Dear all, We are trying to create a tcl script that is called from a batch file with: C:\....\hmbatch.exe -tcl C:\...\MyTcl.tcl That works fine. Our TCL then looks like: variable myLocation [file normalize [info script]] append filename1 $myLocation "Tester02.fem" append filename2 $myLocation "Tester02.sh" *createstringarray 2 "isosurf: 3 3 0.6 0 -1 0 0 10 30 1 0" "other_params: 1 0 0 0 10 0" *ossmooth_12 0 1 0 1 "$filename1" "$filename2" "*.grid" 1 0 1 2 but this is not working. Apparently when trying to run the *ossmooth" command the "$filename1" and "$filename2" variables are not recognised. Any help on how we can do that please??

  12. Hey Guys! I would like to model composite coupon and make a lots of runs using RADIOSS, because I have a lots of measurements data and I would like to make a proper model for it. I want to make 3-point bending, tension, compression etc. and experience the behavior of the model in the post-yield phase (after the failure of some fibers). If I have the results of the measurements, I should export the material data into RADIOSS from a .csv or .xls file. I should optimize the parameters of the material card in RADIOSS to approximate the measured results of the composite coupon. This process should be automatized (because of the many runs and many setup options of the material properties). I would like to use PYTHON scripts to change the values of the material card in the .csv or .xls file for different runs. Can you tell me anything about how we can use PYTHON scripts in HyperMesh/RADIOSS or if it is not able, how we can connect them to TCL/TK scripts? And another question is that how can I reference to the parameters of the material card in TCL or PYTHON scripts? How can I export the results of a specified node or element (stress, strain, displacement or something) to an excel compatible format (.xls, .csv)? Thanks for your answer in advance! Best regards, Tüki
  13. Is there a command / option that we can use to enable word wrap in TableView cells. Right now, when a cell has data that is longer than its width, it just shows "..." at the end instead of the actual data when I publish the TableView window to an html file. It shows up correctly when I publish a .ppt but not in an html. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
  14. What command could I use to change the default color of the cursor that appears in the main tkcon console in hypermesh ? I've been able to change the background color using .tkcon.tab1 configure -bg #000000 , but haven't been able to do the same for the cursor. Any help is appreciated.
  15. Is there any reference where I could find an example / sample usage or atleast what parameters are required to correctly run the hm_setcollector command ? I assume this command sets the current collector ?
  16. How could I go about creating a new tcl console to be used with a GUI that I'm building in Hypermesh ? I tried using package require tkcon tkcon new But I get a message saying : Can't find a usable init.tcl in the following directories: This probably means that Tcl wasn't installed properly.
  17. Hello everyone, We have to create a fully automated tool that takes the user inputs and solve a defined problem using hypermesh, optistruct and hyperview. I can run hypermesh and optistruct to solve a simple problem yet I can't program anything to display results with hypermesh. I would like to display displacements (i.e. plot them) and capture the graphical area to later import it in the matlab GUI. My understanding is that I have to use the Altair reference guide. My idea is to use the polContourCtrl command. So far I have : hwi OpenStack #Session hwi GetSessionHandle sess #Projet sess GetProjectHandle proj #Page proj GetPageHandle page 1 #Window page GetWindowHandle win 1 #PoiPost win GetClientHandle client #Model client GetModelHandle test 1 #Résultat test GetResultCtrlHandle res #Contour res GetContourCtrlHandle con hwi CloseStack Obviously this does not work. What am I missing ? Thank you.
  18. I have a full vehicle with Body, Chassis, Suspension, Axle, Cabin, Floor, Roof, Glass, Windshield, Tyre, etc.. in actual manner as in complete assembly. 2D components are present. Now I want to create 3D in a single component for all the 2D components for my analysis. I don't have enough time to mesh all components in 3D & connect. I want to transform the 2D comp to 3D, the may be I can connect all the solids together into 1 component. Please suggest an option. Is there any Batchmesh available or may be tcl script? The Sample 3D model pic is shared for reference. I want the same thing.
  19. Hello all, Is tahat possible to run a tcl script without opening Hypermesh. Such as just using command window similar to "Abaqus command".
  20. Hi there, I am trying to load a tcl script from the command prompt using batch mode that does a bit of post processing. When i run it, the command prompt doesn't produce any errors however once it is complete HyperWorks has not loaded and I can not see my results. Is there something additional that i need to add to the command prompt line or to my script? Command Prompt line: C:/altair/hw/bin/win64/hw.exe -b -tcl "<tcl_directory" "<tpl_directory_called_in_tcl_script>" `
  21. Hi, I have created a session file where it generates graph between strain and stress for a particular element id. Now i would like to change the element id and reuse the template or session file. I am very new to hyperworks and have no idea how to change .tpl to tcl script or .mvw to tcl. For understanding i am attching the images created by saved template and also the template. I would like to create a script such that it should ask me to enter the element id in hyperview. Any suggestions or recomendations (example scripts) would be verymuch appreciated and helpful. Thanks in advance Agassi e181115.tpl
  22. Hello every one , any one have any tutorial or books to learn to scripting or give a valuable suggestion . Thanks Regards Yukesh
  23. Hello, I am trying to use TCL code to automate the tetrameshing process due to a large number of individual components needed to be meshed for CFD. I am using a simple right angled pipe and have a variation of code that was given in the "Hyperworks Desktop Reference Guide". I can successfully use the tetramesh process within Hypermesh itself manually, selecting my "Wall" as With BL (Fixed) and my "Inflow" and "Outflow" as W/o BL (Float) and do not have the issues that I will explain. However, when I try and automate the process using TCL code, my "^CFD_trias_for_tetramesh" part is only a 2D mesh. This then results in the following failure when using the AcuSolve job launcher: "No Valid 3D element found in the neighbourhood of a tria element". Whereas, if I was to do this manually, the part would be called "CFD_tetcore001", however it would be a 3D volume mesh. Here is my code: *createstringarray 2 "tet: 21532 1.2 2 0 0.8 0 0" "cfd: 86 0.0035 22 1.2 1" *createmark comps 2 "Inflow" "Outflow" *createmark comps 1 "Wall" *tetmesh comps 2 0 comps 1 3 1 2 Would anyone be able to provide any suggestions as to how to get a 3D mesh in the centre of the fluid. Thanks, James
  24. Hi, How to run perl script from TCL? Thanks, Regards, SriGanesh.
  25. Hello, I am learning how to run tcl scripts in hypermesh. I want to clear all the values assigned to the variable in the previous run before running the new script. I am facing difficulty in clearing all the values assigned to the variables. I tried using "clear" command but it doesn't work. Does anybody know how to clear previously assigned values of the variables?
