Hello all, I would like your expert opinion about the surface mesh I am trying to perform on the curved areas of a simple wing (leading edge). Since I would like to export the mesh for a CFD analysis, I am trying to mesh the surfaces with "trias" elements. However I am not happy with the mesh on the leading edges which exhibit a high curvature. I know the result will be better with "quad" elements, however as I mentioned before I would like "tria" elements on my surfaces. The "surface deviation" option meshed the surface (as per attached example) but with too many elements. Can you please have a look on the attached model (note: HM version 10)? Thank you in advance for your assistance. surface_deviation.bmp elevator.hm

Hi everyone, I just started using Hypermesh, so I apologize for the basic question, but I have been struggling for a few hours and I cannot find the solution. I have to mesh a very simple two body part. I attach a snapshot. It is a plate with a cylinder in touch with it. These are two separate bodies in the CAD I would like to mesh the cylinder first and then auto-mesh the face in contact, maintaining the same mesh in the contact region, so that if I see the mesh on the other side of the plate I can see the shape of the cylinder mesh too, surrounded by the other elements of the plate. How can I easily do it? I guess the solution is very simple, but I could not do it. I read other threads but no way. Maybe the problem is that the cylinder and the plate are already two separate bodies in the CAD? Please let me know. Thanks a lot. Best regards, E.

Why the mesh patterns for the 4 sectors of the circle are not the same? I mean it's a symmetric circle that has been cut into exactly 4 same sectors but when I use 2D auto mesh, the marked sectors meshing patterns are different than the other two and I can't make them the same! The meshed circle is part of the solid. I'm planning to drag the 2D mesh to 3D mesh the whole cylinder. Even when I use "solid map" to directly 3D mesh the cylinder, only 2 of the adjacent sectors get the "nice mesh". I'm using HM 13 and Abaqus as a solver. Thanks, Maysam

Hi, How can I make the mesh in the interface region? I need the elements and nodes in the interface are coincident. Thank you.

I have a full vehicle with Body, Chassis, Suspension, Axle, Cabin, Floor, Roof, Glass, Windshield, Tyre, etc.. in actual manner as in complete assembly. 2D components are present. Now I want to create 3D in a single component for all the 2D components for my analysis. I don't have enough time to mesh all components in 3D & connect. I want to transform the 2D comp to 3D, the may be I can connect all the solids together into 1 component. Please suggest an option. Is there any Batchmesh available or may be tcl script? The Sample 3D model pic is shared for reference. I want the same thing.

Hi! Could ssomeone help with the following problems please? I defined two surfaces with shell elements and an imposed displacement in the middle of the circle(-2,044mm in Y axis) I don't know how to define correctly the contact between these two meshes. I tried it with TYPE7 and TYPE11 as well. I got the same result. Which type should i use and how to properly define them? There is also a gap between meshes and the two pionts(the top point of the rectangle has another displacement as the bottom point of the circle with IMP DISP ). How is that possible? Why is there a gap between meshes? I defined shells with thickness 15. Thanks in advance!
