  1. Hi everyone, I keep getting the following error message: The message keeps repeating until job completion. For output files I get a .out, 0000.rad and 0001.rad files. I would appreciate your help on how to solve this issue.
  2. What does the "SCALE" value mean in "FATLOAD" keyword? After referring to some online manual, it was mentioned to maintain a scale factor of 5. It is mentioned in the same manual that certain fatigue load should be applied and that same load has been applied in LOADCOL and the additional scale factor of 5 in FATLOAD. We aren't sure if they are applying 5 times the load mentioned. Also, what exactly is LDM in the FATLOAD keycard?

    Error 529

    Hi guys. I have a problem with the mat/law60. I launch Radioss, but it generate an error in the file .out I have defined three functions for three strain rate. Could somebody help me with this error? Thanks.
  4. Here is a benchmark test from NAFEMS I found in ABAQUS. I created the FE model as indication below, then run in Radioss. link http://129.97.46.200:2080/v6.12/books/bmk/default.htm Radioss Result: case1 CQUAD4(1st order): #4 1.628 #5 2.483 #6 3.167 #7 4.3397 #8 4.3397 #9 8.013 case2 CQUAD4(2nd order): #4 1.614 #5 2.317 #6 2.843 #7 4.0982 #8 4.0982 #9 6.753 compare the results of ABAQUS and Radioss, it seems that Radioss's result is not so good as Abaqus. Because I don't have NASTRAN, so the result of NASTRAN is miss. I am curious whether NASTRAN can give the "right" result. Can someone explain why? I am very confused.

  8. Hi everybody i would perform a simulation of a lifeboat ditching, like in the tutorials where is used an ALE approximation, but using the SPH approximation, smoothed particle hydrodynamics. Does anyone know how build a sph model in hypermesh and solve it with radioss? Are any kind of tutorial about SPH simulation online? i was not able find it anywhere... Thank you!!!

  11. Good evening to every body i'm working on sph modelling of water; to obtain reasonable time step i have to use an artificial bulk modulus in the MAT LAW 6. I have found in the Monagham teory that it should be chosen using an artificial (lower of the real one) sound of speed that should be at least 10 times the maximum phenomena speed. I'm testing a water entry of a wedge, and the water surface imapact speed is 3 m/s. The water tank is in complete rest situatuion. Is this speed that i should use as "maximum speed of phenomena"? Thanks
  12. Hi I did the analysis using the hyperworks tutorial file for fatigue loading using the load time history file which was already there for the control arm. Although I read the theory which was given in the tutorial before exercise but I am unable to understand the subcases, Load collector etc to be made before doing a fresh analysis and the meaning of the terms which are used for the same in given analysis. ie FATPARM, MATFAT, FATLOAD etc.. I am Trying to do an Impact test, with Variable pressure on the surface.( M1_ELAS, P14_SOLID) I am trying to find out either Principal Stresses or Shear Stresses, but the only options regarding the stresses in the ENG_ANIM_ELEM file is either Pressure SIG X,XY,Y,YZ,Z,ZX VONMISES Are the SIG X values same as Principal Stress ? If not can u please tell me how to obtain Either Principal Stresses or Shear stresses From the model.. The Only options I can see in ENG_ANIM_ELEM file are... DENS,EPSP,ENERGY,DAM1,EPSD,FAIL,HOURG,K,SIG X,TEMP,THIC,TVIS,THIN,VORTX,THKERR,FLAY I am using version 12.0 (Student Edition) Thanks in advance
  18. Hi guys I'm trying set up a model of a ditching body in water, modelling Water by Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics. And i would like to model just an half of entire model applying symmetry conditions. By using /SPHBCS card for the sph symmetry conditions, i select a frame i have previously created, that defines the symmetry plane by the /DIR value. But running radioss it gives me this error ERROR ID : 400 ** ERROR IN SPH CONDITIONS (FRAME) DESCRIPTION : UNDEFINED REFERENCE FRAME ID=1 What could be the reason? maybe i mistake something creating the system or imposing symmetries for SPH elements? Hi everyBody I have a steel frame with a steel plate in the centre, with applied a pressure load; at the exteems of frame i have 4 constrains locking DOF1 DOF2 and DOF3; I have used beam element to create the frame and shell elements to create the plate; I have applied a certain pressure on the shell elements, but i need a impulsive load, how can i create it? How can i perform a transient modal analysis? witch load collectors i need to create? Here there are three images to help you to understand. After that i have to output the values of bending moments, shear and normal stress near a intersection of 3 beams element in the frame; then model the intersection with a 3D and apply the loads i have found from the transient modal Analysis. Where can i reed these kind of values concerning a node of the frame? thank for the support Damir
  20. When viewing animations and contours in hyperview, I can only see the Von mises stress contour plots. (Scalar) There are no tensor plots. How can I get a contour plot for principal stresses? I tried the /TH/Bric from the output block for a time history. But that only gives a graph in hypergraph for selected elements. I want to be able to see animation like Von Mises animation in hyperview and also know what element is subjected to max principal stress. How to obtain such plots? Thanks, Edit: I think I need to use the Anim options from engine file. But I cannot increase the card count beyond 3. How to get more than 3 anim/keyword2/keyword3 entries?
