    analysis error

Hi, I am a student of Youngnam University in Korea. This time, I was going to get a student license and use it.However, an error occurred. I want to know the solution.I don't know if it's a license or my condition is wrong. Perhaps it is not a licensing issue. There's a file I analyzed last year. There was no problem last year. The file went on as it was. However, now the same error occurs as the attached picture. I don't know what the problem is. I need help.

    .out file does not exist

Hi, First time using HyperMesh and I am following a tutorial for topology optimisation. The tutorial I am following is on pages 25-36 in the link provided. When I click OptiStruct, I do not get a message. When I click view.out, I get a message saying: '.out file does not exist.' Where am I going wrong? Thanks Laurence OptiStruct_11.0_Tutorials_(1).pdf
  3. Using Hypermesh 2017, and User Optistruct. I have been trying to get the contour plots of a chassis both modeled with a beam model and a shell model to match up but the deflections of the shell model are always about 2 times as large. It should also be noted that the deflection images are nearly exactly the same with the same deflection trends but just the magnitudes are different. The following conditions are the exact same for both: forces, location of forces, constraints, overall size, thickness and material. The only conditions that are different would be the properties as the beam model is modeled with a PBEAM and assigned the correct beamsection while the Shell model is modeled with a PSHELL card and then assigned the thickness. Are there any common errors that would be able to describe why the beam model has almost exactly half the deflection of the shell model? Thanks for any Help , reply if more info is needed. 4. Hı everyone, I am trying to do lattice optimization with different types. I'm using hex mesh for design and tetra mesh for non-design. I I can see the different types of lattice in the design structure. But when I check the displacement values, I don't see any difference. Can you help me for this problem? controlarm.pptx
  5. Following the y-bracket tutorial leaves the optimisation hanging on 100% and analysis fails, saying contact support. The optimisation is definitely no longer doing anything because the process has no load on CPU. Please see attachments. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Best, Darren
  6. Hı everyone, My structure has very less weight and size. I want to lattice optimization and I do. But shape of my structure is changing. shape is very thin. I think this can be due to the weight. Can you help me? Thank you. First picture my structure, Secondly figure at the end of the analysis.
  7. Hi, Thanks a lot for your support and quick response. I am using Hypermesh with Ansys User Profile . Here I want to do the Static, Modal, Harmonic, Transient and Random Analysis. I want to give all the inputs in Hypermesh Itself. Please Guide me on this I have to give the inputs in Sinwave form. please provide me any link for tutorial. Thanks in advance for your valuable support.. Thanks, David
  8. Hello, I would like to extract the node point stresses after an analysis using a tcl script for further analysis in Matlab. Control cards only allow me to export the GPSTRESS as HM or H3D which is not useful for running an analysis outside of hypermesh and hyperview. What functions should I use to accomplish this? Or is there an easier way? Thank you, -Eric
  9. Hı, I'm doing lattice structural optimizations. Lattice type 1 and 3 is working but 2 and 4 are not working. I get this error. Can you help me? Thank you.

    What is ESAComp ?

ESAComp is software for analysis and design of composites. Its scope ranges from conceptual and preliminary design of layered composite structures to analyses of details. ESAComp is a stand-alone software tool, but thanks to its ability to interface with widely used finite element software packages, ESAComp fits seamlessly into the design process. The comprehensive material database of ESAComp forms the basis for design studies. ESAComp has a vast set of analysis capabilities for solid/sandwich laminates and for micromechanical analyses. It further includes analysis tools for structural elements: flat and curved panels, stiffened panels, beams and columns, bonded and mechanical joints. ESAComp is developed and supported by Componeering Inc., Finland. www.esacomp.com or check out our Altair Partner page http://www.altairhyperworks.com/partner/ESAComp ESAComp-Intro.pdf

  17. Hello Everyone, I just started to use Inspire and I did the introduction problems on Altair's Moodle. I know more or less how to draw and modify the structures. However, I noticed when I upload STL file from alternative source to Inspire 2016, it seems like a piece that I cannot modify or it doesn't appear in analysis any way. I would like to run analysis stage on the imported STL file before I modify it at any way. The piece appears as "Invalid feature or associated part". An STL file output from Inspire 2016 source is recognized as it should be after reloading. Is it there a way to make an imported part to become a part that can be modified in Inspire 2016? Thank you, Jukka

    Interface laminate, Error 640

Hello, when I run thee analysis on my model, I get the message: ************************************************************************ A fatal error has been detected during input processing: *** ERROR # 640 *** STACK 1 is incorrectly or ambiguously defined. This could be due to disconnected substacks, duplicate interfaces or inconsistent interfaces orientations. Please verify the substacks and interfaces thoroughly. ************************************************************************ ==== End of solver screen output ==== ==== Job completed ==== In my model I got six plies called that have no material real material (material with parameters = 0), I just used them to create an Interface laminate and to connect the plies in a proper way. If needed, I can also translate the notations into english if needed. Felgenbett_Heiss.hm

    MaxShear vs Tresca

Hello, Can anybody explain what is the difference between these 2 stress components ; Tresca and MaxShear? I assume that both come from the Maximum Shear Stress theory (Failure theories) so I do not understand the difference between both of them, in which situation they are to be used, etc. Thank you. BR, Hanif

    Solution Stability Issue

Hi, Mesh independent study is performed for one operating point to fix the mesh count in one of my problem. The final fixed mesh count result was deviating by 1.5% for the selected operating point. The final fixed mesh is used to simulate for other operating points and their results deviate between 10-30%. To check the consistency of the result the simulation is conducted for different operating point to check the stability of solution and found result changes with huge deviation. If this problem persists on my cases, it would be difficult for us to relay on the tool. Requesting you to arrange for a meeting to discuss in detail about this issue ASAP. Regards, Vignesh V.
  21. Hi there, I've run a simulation of the chassis of a car through Optistruct in Hyperview, and there were no errors and everything seemed to run well. However, upon loading into Hyperview, I am unable to view the contour plots for stress/strain/displacement and the four subcases. I am expecting to get a model like Image 1, however am getting image 2. It is as if there are no loads applied to the chassis. If anyone is able to view the model (file attached) and perhaps indicate where I am going wrong it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Chassis_scaled_newI.hm
  22. Hello, I am using hyperform to evaluate the springback compensation of a component. I created the parameters and saved the '.hf file'. Then while running the analysis with the saved .hf file, the command prompt opens. It could not run the simulation. It shows the error 'noh3d -nproc 1' and 'the system cannot find the path specified'. Have attached with the screenshot of the error. Kindly refer to it and help me regarding this. Thanks in advance.

    Composite Failure in HW 13

Hello guys, I'm currently optimizing a cfrp monocoque for our formula student team. After the free size optimization I wanted to check the composite failure, but I can't find cfailure in the control cards as it was in the previous version. How can I get results for the composite failure in Hyperworks 13 to look at in HyperView? Thanks in advance.

    Frequency Response Analysis

How to perform simulation (Nastran) on a system by applying a sinusoidal load of 0.1g which swept from 10-50 Hz which varies at rate of 1Hz/min ??? How to use the Time domain in solver deck? In Modal Frequency Response i don't use varying rate (1 Hz/min) . So please let me know how to apply the time here.....!!!
  25. Hello, I have a doubt, and I was wondering if someone here could help. I am setting up a Direct Frequency Response Analysis, and I want to set an oscillating load. I've read the documentation and some tutorials, however, I can't find the solution. The load I want to apply is: force (time)=A+B*cos(wt) A and B are constants, and w is the angular frequency. If A=0, the proccess would be (I think): - Set a unit load in the given direction, with load type DAREA, and magnitude 1. - Set a TableD1 load collector, with a range of frequencies and y=B - Set Freqi and Rload2 load collectors, and a freq resp (direct) loadstep accordingly. (I would be grateful if someone can confirm that is correct) However, when A is not zero, I have no idea what I should do. One more thing, is there a way to view the applied load in Hyperview? If there was, I could see for myself what I am doing. EDIT: I think I found a way to do this, with the global output request OLOAD, not sure it it'll work though. Thanks for your attention, hope someone can help! Regards
