  1. Is there a way to read what updates are being posted on the Status bar when the batch mesher is run on a particular model ? For example I can see various status updates such as "Topology Cleanup : Step 10" and so on, but I want to read those status updates into a variable using a tcl script. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
  2. Hi all, I started with 2nd order tetra meshing (Tetra10 or configuration 210) in batch mode i.e. writing tcl script employing Tcl commands for meshing a CATIA solid geometry. Unfortunately, it seems that it is not possible to set criteria and parameters for 3D meshing (e.g. tetra meshing), and even if the criteria file and parameter file is used (which only provides options for tria and quad elements), it doesn't affect the Tetra mesh quality and only the surface mesh is monitored by criteria and parameter files. I am creating Tetra elements by two methods: 1. Directly meshing the solids with Tetra10 elements 2. First creating a skin of Tria6 elements and then creating Tetra10 elements from this skin mesh. I used the *tetmesh command with suitably selected parameters, so that I can get a nice mesh (with minimum distortion) but finally NASTRAN found that there are some tetra elements with very low internal angles and it marks these elements as "FAILED" elements and stops the analysis. I checked the quality parameters for 3D elements (short key: F10), and found that many elements simply fail, and are well far away from the limits e.g. max. size, min size, entered in the tcl script. Is there any proper way to force HM to respect the limits of 3D mesh properties??
  3. I have a full vehicle with Body, Chassis, Suspension, Axle, Cabin, Floor, Roof, Glass, Windshield, Tyre, etc.. in actual manner as in complete assembly. 2D components are present. Now I want to create 3D in a single component for all the 2D components for my analysis. I don't have enough time to mesh all components in 3D & connect. I want to transform the 2D comp to 3D, the may be I can connect all the solids together into 1 component. Please suggest an option. Is there any Batchmesh available or may be tcl script? The Sample 3D model pic is shared for reference. I want the same thing.
  4. I want to do batchmesh of engine component. Please tell me how to mesh with Rtria? In parameter file Rtria option is not available
  5. Hi friends, I have been using HM13, for a while. and I use one option a lot. That is Mid surface mesh from Create>Mesh>Mid Surface however I can't be able to put washers on the surface holes with correct diameter. Can anyone please help by telling , how to set parametric file such that I could get a good mesh flow and washers with the size 3.25mm and the average element size of 6mm. Thanks in advance
