  1. I am having trouble figuring out why there are strange reaction forces in my model. The rightmost node allows for rotation (vector out/in screen) and the bottom left node pushes up at a set displacement. The rightmost node should not have so much force in the x-direction. Any help in figuring out why this is happening is much appreciated. Femur_Model_7_1.hm
  2. Hello, I am trying to make a movement of nodes as shown in the image. I want the movement to be lika a circle ( i dont want rectangular displacements). How would you recommend to do this? INitial point is 1 and final point is 2. I have tried an SPC with two DOFs constrained (x,y) with it respective displacement values in two DOFs 1 and 2. How would you recommend to make this displacemnet.? Thank you in advance for your itme.
  3. Dear all, I am a newbie in HW as well as HM and aim to setup a component and then perform the analysis with Optistruct. I have defined my BCs and constraints using RBE2 elements but face some issues. (HM model and image with BCs attached) I am not sure about how to define a displacement BC or Constraint on one of the holes (left end in the attached image). Aim is to constraint the sideway motion (x-axis) of the component to max of 2mm. I created a constraint load collector with load type SPCD and activated dof1 with a value of 2mm. Is this the correct way to implement the desired constraint? Secondly, I created linear static loadcases with option Load for my load collectors FRONT, CENTER, REAR and SPCD. Is it required to create a separate loadcase for Symmetry BC as well? I assume a (geom. non-linear) dynamic implicit type load step will be better to use in this case. But I am unsure which sub-option I have to use in that case. Some suggestions and recommendatiosn woudl be really helpful. I. Shaft.hm
  4. I have a cube as a model, and i'm trying to apply a boundary condition that it's basicaly a shear force in one of the cube faces. But the particularity of this BC is that i have to define a UNIFORM displacement (every element having the same displacement) on this shear forced face. How can i do that?

  6. Hello, I am working on automobile component i.e. EGR coolar. Here task is to Cool hot gas emitting out from engine and to send back to engine by using coolar i.e. ethylene glycol. EGR coolar has two fluid gas(hot air) & coolant(Ethylene glycol). Each fluid passing from 1 side. It may be parrallel or counter flow. I am getting inputs from customer like this, I am showing you 2 case as follows: CASE 1: Coolant flowing at 90"C @ 1200l/hr @ 2.5Bar-gauge Exhaust Gas at 450"C @ 150Kg/hr @ 2Bar-gauge CASE 2: Coolant flowing at 90"C @ 1200l/hr @ 2.5Bar-absolute Exhaust Gas at 450"C @ 150Kg/hr @ 2Bar-absolute Hence some time I am getting input value of pressure in bar or absolute. I am giving BC like this: At inlet I am defining pressure and temperature and at outlet negative flow I am giving. But I am not understanding how to value of pressure in gauge and absolute?   7. Hello, i just start to use Tcl script on hypermesh. I've a script who create a simple geometry and mesh on hypermesh. And i need to create boundary conditions. with the commande file I've : *startnotehistorystate {Created Force } *createmark nodes 1 1-19 1920-1945 4553-4559 *loadcreateonentity_curve nodes 1 1 1 -0 -0 50 0 0 50 0 0 0 0 0 *endnotehistorystate {Created Force } The problem is that the nodes are not always the ame (depend on my geometry). Can I create boundary conditions without the number of the nodes ? Like with lines ?
