  1. Hi everyone, I'm currently larning how to use Inspire to perform topology opimizations but I can't complete one of my first jobs due to the issue explained in the title. I performed an optimization with Stiffness target, min size=0.005m, and then used the Fit tool since the complicated geometry of the result made manually wrapping quite hard. I tried multiple settings for Density and Break Angle, starting from default ones. The nondesign space are hollow cylinders, I tried changing their thickness from 1 to 3 millimeters. I always get an error saying "Unable to complete Boolean operation" and sometimes the program keeps loading and freezes for hours until I can only force kill it from task manager. Only hypothesis for the moment is the fact that non design parts are circular (hard to mesh?) and connect two separate regions the Fit istance is made of. Hope you can help me since this problem is stopping me from using the Software altogether. Thank you very much
  2. Hello All, I want to perform 2D mesh union operation of two set of overlapping elements. Below are the images for reference. Here, both mesh A and B consist of 2nd order tria elems. Mesh A is from an older FE model built in different pre-processsor (Abaqus CAE) and Mesh B was generated within HM. The objective is to preserve mesh-A and stitch the extra mesh region present in the mesh B to it. I have tried using the mesh Boolean operation, but did not get any solution. Not sure if I am missing out something. So, is there a way to achieve this ? I am open to tcl scripting as well. Thanks, Roshan
  3. Dear, I have a model with different solids for meshing purpose. But the problem is that I can't do any boolean operation between two solids. I got an internal error. What could be the problem? Best regards Nestor
  4. Hello all ! I'm a new user of HyperMesh so sorry if I don't have huge knowledges in. First, let me explain the context. I'm trying to create RVE with inclusions. It's composed of matrix and inclusions in the matrix. First, I create a RVE cube (the matrix), then i create inclusions (here, spheres). The next steps consists in to clear the matrix from the inclusions and to cut inclusions going out of the matrix. I'm must keep two different components in order to give them different material properties. I use *boolean_merge_solids to cut solids. But when I cut my matrix with to many inclusions, there is inclusions added to the matrix. And similar things when in try to cut my inclusions.... If i do it one inclusion by one inclusion, the code become heavy and too mush complex. Is there any reasons for making my boolean_merge_solids going wrong ? Or maybe, something to be carefull with this function ? Thanks in advance PS: sorry if I do some language faults, i'm french speaker and i'm not fluent in english...
  5. Hello, I'm working with a model that contains 2 components. 1. Comp contains surfaces, solids and elements 2. Comp contains lines, surfaces and Elements. A solid can not be created from the surfaces. I used another way though to create Tetraeder Elements to fill the volume contained by the surfaces. The 2nd component is placed within the 1st component. Now I want to cut out the space of the 1st comp, so that the 2nd comp fits in without having the elements of both components overlap. Basically I want to use a boolean function for elements, like the "solid edit>boolean>A-B (del B )" function for solids. But as I can't create a solid from the surfaces of the 2nd comp. I need to go another way than the traditional boolean. Is there something like boolean for elements? Kind regards, Niclas_emi
  6. Hi I have two objects and object A locates inside of object B. The outer object B is already meshed and saved as hm file. Object A is imported from IGES file. So I open B.hm file and import A.igs . I used boolean operation; {A-B,B}(cut A with B ). After boolean, I tried to mesh object A, but I cannot mesh it and the mesh is just attached to the inner surface of B. I would like to have hex mesh for B and tet mesh for A. Anyone can help me with meshing object A? I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Jay
