  1. Hi. There is a problem with my case. I created an outer circle with the diameter 0.0074mm and the inner circle is 0.007mm. Create a surface between the two circles in order to generate the boundary layer. The lines from the iges file were deleted after the meshing is OK. I want to create the boundary conditions such as inlet, outlet etc.. I use Tools-edges-find edges to create edges based on the mesh. However, 2 circles are still generated as edges. One can see the blue line and the red line. I don't want Hypermesh to find the red line. How can I do that? Thanks~~~~ 10rows-0.07mm-60deg-200elements.hm
  2. Hi, I am trying to create a boundary layer mesh around a sphere. It is non uniform boundary layer, what I mean is I am fully aware of how to create a volume mesh with boundary layers. But what I dont know is how I can create a varying number of boundary layers within the domain. Say closer to the sphere, I want 20 layers and near the inlet I need 10 layers. Is there way to create this within Hypermesh? Thanks

Hey, I have the following issue during meshing my 2D airfoil with an obtuse trailing edge: I would like to mesh my airfoil like that: BL-Mesh with quad elements from leading edge to trailing edge (upper and lower part of airfoil) and the vertical area at the trailing edge (photo: yellow 1D elements) with tria elements (therefore farfield instead of wall) in order to avoid the quad mesh around the trailing edge (see photo with red quad BL elements). However, when doing this with the Tool "2D Native BL Mesh Planar" it says "selected elements do not form closed loop" (see photo). Therefore I would like to ask, if there is a possibility to avoid quad elements at a certrain part around the airfoil with the Tool 2D Native BL Mesh (Planar)... Or is there a possibility to delete the quad elements around the trailing edge and remesh this area? Thank you very much in advance for your help! Cheers, Martin
  4. AcuSolve contains a set of boundary conditions that automatically sets a boundary layer profile at an inlet boundary. When using the inflow boundary condition types of mass_flux, flow_rate, and average_velocity,AcuSolve computes an appropriate boundary layer profile for the velocity and turbulence fields based on the the distance from no-slip walls, and estimated Reynolds Number. The profile is re-computed at each time step such that deforming meshes are properly accounted for in the calculation. This boundary condition provides a robust method of automatically specifying physically realistic inlet conditions. It is much more realistic than specifying a constant velocity condition for internal flow applications.
  5. I am facing problem with boudary layer. When I am not maintaining BLs result is converging easily but showing wrong result. Only55 to 60% accuracy I am getting. When I am maintaining BL, result is not converging. The values are fluctuating so much, Actually modal is EGR coolar and has two flow i.e. coolant & Exhaust gas. In first trail, I solved with no BL, I got 60% accuracy. I got result trendy at very low time step 60, and I solved it for ten days till TS 1000, but result was same. There is no change. In 2nd trail, I am solving with BL at wall seperating coolant & gas. But here, result I am not getting trendy atleast. 300 TS, already completed, still no result. Solver is also very slow. Taking too much time. For each TS it is taking nearlly 20mins. I have attached inp & log file please find it. Please do needful as I wasted nearlly 1 month on it.   6. Hi, I am using hypermesh to generate CFD tetramesh and boundary layer to model a flow into pipes. I am first working on a simple pipe with an inlet and an outlet. I am using the cfd tetra mesh panel to generate the boundary layer and the tetramesh core. The boundary layer obtained is good for the first couple layers but the elements start to skew at some point which result in a very bad boundary layer mesh. This is extremely disappointing since this is one of the simplest case I can think of. I am planning to use the cfd mesher for a much complex piping case and this kind of mesh is not acceptable. Please help me with this issue. I used hypermesh 12.0.117. I attached a screenshot of the parameters used for the boundary layer. I also tried several other combination of the parameters. I also tried selecting float or fixed boundary layer without success. I also attached screenshots of the resulting elements to illustrate the problem. I also attach a .txt file containing the model of the pipe. (just change de extension to .fem and import it in hypermesh, I had to change extension otherwise the upload was not authorized). The pipe and inlet/outlet components are used as 2d input mesh for the boundary layer mesh generation.
