  1. Hello, I am doing the "SPM_Motor_Flux_3D.pdf" tutorial, and in page 15 there is a file named "Create_NonMesh_Coils_SPM.py" that I have to Run. I can not find it in my PC. Could you please tell me the exact directory where I can get it?, or much better, if you could send it to me I would appreciate it. (and let me know if I need another file to finish the tutorial) Thank you in advance.
  2. Hello. I've been struggling with the simulation of a sensor consisting of a coil with a ferromagnetic core and a magnet. The main output to analyse is the voltage induced on the coil by a rotating target. I'm modeling the coil as stranded-coil conductor coupled with a series resistor (see attached circuit.png). When measuring the voltage across the coil, I'm looking at very high fluctuations in voltage (see attached results.png), if I take the derivative of the flux (flux.png) through the coil, the behavior is minimized a bit, but still present. Any ideas to improve this high variation? Thanks.
  3. In a Transient Magnetic 2D Axisymmetric simulation, a solid movable piece of steel is attracted upwards by the combined forces of permanent magnets and a coil. The coil is represented in the associated electrical circuit as a coil conductor with one turn, and its resistance is equal to that for one turn as well. Current through the coil conductor is imposed by a current source. Now, once the mover has moved half of the required distance, the magnetic circuit should start to act as a brake (or damper), rather than an actuator. Hence, by passive means, the speed of the mover should be reduced. I would like to achieve this by short-circuiting the coil, and using it as a solid conductor. However, this requires to switch from one electrical circuit implementation, to another one. In the second electrical circuit, there is no current source anymore, and the coil is represented as a solid conductor (to act like a solid piece of copper). Can someone explain how I can implement both of these situations in the same Flux simulation? @Flux support @lombard
  4. Hello, I have to model a coil with the resistance of 2Ohm. How can I realize it? The Application is "transient Magnetic 3D". In the Editor for a non meshed coil i can define the reistivity of the coil. But I only know th resistance of it. I can't use the formula resistance=resistivity*length/A because I don't know the length of the wire. In the circuit Editor conextI use a coil conductor. There I can define a resistance. Is this the same? Thanks.
  5. Hello, I modeled a cicular coil. In the coil section I can choose between rectangle and line. Both possibilities want to define the heigth and the width. I tried both with the same heigth and the same width, but get different solutions. What is the difference between the selections? Thank you in advance.

Hi Good day, I would like to start with creating two different magnetic based coils as Transmitting coil (TC) and Receiving coil (RC), to measure the Z impedance values changes with respect to the movement of TC around RC. Following are the configuration which I would like to proceed, Transmitting Coil: L 67 uH Q 22 Ccalc 24.19 nf - - F 125khz Receiving Coil: Coil Configuration L 728.73 uH Q 53.24 R 15kohm Ccalc 2.224nf F 125khz - - The Receiving Coil (RC) resonated at a frequency of 125kHz and diameter of 7cm. Transmitting coil (TC) dimension is 9 x 9 x 9 mm^3. Datasheet of RC as: https://www.rfsolutions.co.uk/downloads/1457021091DS-ANT-125K.pdf Initially, the RC and TC will be 3cm away from each other on z axis. The Impedance( |Z| ) value can be measured with respect to the movement of TC on x-axis/y-axis. -> The RC: loop antenna actual dimension, the copper wire diameter, number of turn, the diameter. (the details of the coil determine the inductance value) For RC: 0.236mm diameter (34 swg) Enamelled Cu wire. Diameter Antenna: 7cm internal , Number of turns: 67 turns Inductance: 700uH Quality Factor (Q): 17 For TC: Inductance: 67 uH Quality Factor (Q): 22 Capacitor: 24.19 nf Frequency (F) 125 kHz Number of turns: 52 Diameter: 8mm -> Matching circuit details. Matching circuit For RC : C = 2.3159nF (Formula:F=1/2π √LC) Matching circuit For TC : C= 24.19nF (Formula:F=1/2π √LC) kindly can you suggest me the step or user manual for me to start on to this project.   7. Hello, I tried to modle a meshed coil. I defined two cylinders and made a subtraction. Then I made a cut object. Now I have a face for the enternal and exiting face (one of the orange faces). Then I made a coil conductor Region. After that I wanted to "orient wired of coil conductor regons". I want Internal terminals. So I selected one of the two faces from the "cut object"- Operation. After that I checked the physics: I don't know what is wrong. What can I do to solve the Problem? Thank you in advance.
  8. Hello, I started to work with Flux. I modeled an unmeshed coil with an iron core inside. I used the application ‘’magneto static 3D’’ and the "automatic formulations". The dimensions of the coil are Lcoil=0.4m (length), Rcoil=0.05m (radius) und N=1600 (number of turns). The dimensions of the core are L=0.4m, R=0.02m, myr=1200 (reltive permeability of the material). In Flux the material is described by the magnetic property "linear isotropic". The current through the coil is I=0.5A. To verify my solutions I made a calculation for the magnetic flux density and the magnetic field in the middle of the coil with the simple formula: H=I*N/sqrt(Lcoil2+(2*Rcoil)2)=1940.285A/m and B=myr*my0*H=2.926T. But with my simulation model I get the values H=110.58A/m an B=0.167T. These are high differences. Does somebody know what my fault could be? I checked all input Parameter and my calculation. When I modeled the same coil without a core the calculation accorded with the simulation. Thanking you in advance.
