  1. Hi! I am not sure why but when I try to import my geometry from solidworks to optistruct it only shows as a single component geometry while in Ansys it shows as different parts. I want to know how can I have multiple components in optistruct? I am performing size optimization so I need to assign different properties and thickness to different parts of the model. I am attaching my geometry here hoping someone can guide me. Thanks! OG Rotor Proper Meshed 1.hm
  2. Hello, I need to do a loop on all my components and i don't know how to do it... Something like that : set list_comp {list "all" components} #doesn't work... set m 0 foreach i $list_comp { incr m set cname [hm_entityinfo name components $i] #instruction } If someone can help me.. Thanks.
  3. Hi all, Is there a way to find which component a solid belongs to? I couldn't find a tcl command for this... Thanks.
  4. Hello, Is there any script to create element sets by selecting components? The hm file I am working has more than 100 components so I was trying to automate the process and create a script, but so far I have not been successful. Can anyone help me? Thanks. N.
  5. Dear users! I have one problem when solving static analysis of 2D plate model As you can see, the setting of analysis with 3 components Var 6-1, DS, Var6-3. Everything seem be fine because the process of solving is done without any warning. But when I open results analysis in hyperwork, only component Var6-3 appear, the other 2 components DS + Var6-1 disappeared from result. Can you please give me some suggest for this problem? Thanks you in advance!
  6. Hello, I would like to mask entire components in order to get insight into the underlying structures of my model. I have the desired Option in the "Delete" menu (F2). If I press the downarrow button I can select "comp". This is not possible however in the "Mask" menu (F5). Any suggestions how to do this in an easy way? Greetings Niclas
  7. Hey Guys! I have many components in a model (more than 300) and I have to make property for each one of them. The problem is that creating properties and rename them by components and assign them to components takes to many time. Names of the components are the item numbers, so I want to keep them and don't rename them. I have already figured out that in Utility browser there's a function, named "auto property creation", which renames the properties to the names of the components if they are assigned before. Do you have any idea how could I create so many properties and assign them to components in a few easy steps or do you guys have script or any other solution to solve this problem? Thanks for answers in advance! Best regards, Tüki
