Hello, i have a curved shell-geometry on which i like to reorient the nodal coordinate systems to follow the curvature. I only like to do that for the nodes on the edge. With that nodal systems i like to assign rotational boundary condition following the curvature of the shell-geometry. I am using OptiStruct for Solving. How do i proceed to achieve this goal? Hello Altair Team, I am doing a non-linear quasi static Simulation with 2 sequential load steps. I would like to apply a force after Deformation (Load step 1) in a cetain direction for example X (local Coordinate Sys). I have tried to define a local coordinate (CORD1R) and assigned the nodes and the force to this Local System. I expected that the coordinate System move with the Body (Green coordinate system). But the results Shows, that the force will be applied according to the local coordinate direction in the beginning Situation.(Red Coordinate System) it means that the local System does not move with the Body. In hyperview, it stays at the beginning Position. Could you please give me some hints about moving local coordinate System.
Hello all, What are the methods to import CAD data so that it is reoriented in a particular way in Global coordinate system?? For eg. If I want to import a CAD Model from Iges such that its XY plane now corresponds now to XZ plane in global coordinate system in Hypermesh. Is there any particular import options without having to change the orientation with CAD program? Also I find documentation about the create system option for creating local coordinate system bit confusing can anyone explain it with an example? Are loads , constraint always assigned in Global Coordinate system? Thanks Pratik Hyperworks 17
