  1. Hello, I'm importing a .hm file to the HyperStydy which is a composite model. But I'm not able to import variable other than Material and Moment. Can you point out where I might be going wrong?
  2. Hi everyone, I m making a composite size optimization and need to use the same design variable to multiple plies. Simplified, I need several different plies to have the same thickness and I need several plies with diferent thickness aswell. I formulated the problem this way and create a generic relationship to each ply, using only one design variable for multiple plies. This didn't work and appeared an error. I checked the dlink card but I dont know if that fits my purpose because how can I link DVs in order to have the same value? Any ideia on how can I do this? Best regards, Gonçalo

  4. Hello, How can I make the number of plies as the variable rather than the thickness of the ply, since the ply thickness has to be 0.2 mm, and the number of layers can change. And I see that there is nothing like manufacturing thickness when I connect HyperWorks to HyperStudy. I'm using GA as solving algorithm. Thank you.
  5. Hallo everybody. I want to run a free size optimization with Optistruct. My model is an Formula Student Monocoque. Everything is ok until I set the optimization. I have got 9 loadcases. One of them is pure torsion. Now, that´s what I have done so far. - I set the design variable "free size" - I set a response static displacement and took two nodes (dof 3) with an dconstraint, lower an upper bound and all loadsteps - I set a response mass with an objective min I set the cards: - PARAM, in_rel=-2 - GLOBAL_OUTPUT_REQUEST: CSTRAIN and CSTRESS - OUTPUT: FSTOSZ I set opticontrol: - DESMAX= 80 - OBJTOL= 0.005 - DELTOP= 0.5 The Check is ok, but when I start an optimization there is an fatal error after about 20 minutes. INFEASIBLE DESIGN Then I tried to make an new response. The displacement response only with the loadstep with the pure torsion and another response with composite failure and the other eight loadsteps. But the free size card don´t support that response. The check and optimization .out files are attached. FInaly my question. Is there any way, how I can fix it. Or another way I can run an optimization? Thanks for your help check.txt optimization.txt
  6. I'm planning to use HyperStudy for multi objective Optimization of laminated composite structure, and I wanted to know it is possible to make orientation of ply as one of the design variable? I want optimum angle for ply, for the given load condition, rather than sticking with the angle given by user. Thank you.
