  1. Hi all, A drop simulation was solved by radioss. The energy error was negative at initial, but it increased slowly and became positive. At time 19.97s, the energy error increased suddenly to 99.9%, and the energy increased several times. The .out file was attached below. Looking at .out file, the Interface 29 controlled the time step. In the model, the Interface 29 was self contact of foam material. /INTER/TYPE7/29 DiPao_SelfContact 156 157 0.01 000 /GRNOD/PART/156 GrnodPartForInterfaceId_29 86 /SURF/PART/EXT/157 SurfPartForInterfaceId_29 86 What's the possible reason for this energy error problem (I think the energy error should be negative and the absolute value should be less than 5%)?   4. I am trying to run a simulation on Linux server , the animation files are generating very slow than expected and models begin with an error of 5.4% an d reach 99.9% also hyperview is unable to read that file it is unable to complete reading process.

Dear Sir, Thanks for the help, i have run the analysis with n=5 and ishell 24 formulation in radioss but the problem couldn't be resolved 1)still the internal energy is high from the start of the run . 2) after 14 iterations its saying time step error is equal to zero, though the mass error is 1.3e-1 at that time and energy error is -8.1 which are acceptable limits.   6. Hello community, I have a problem in RADIOSS with an explicit simulation of a hydro bush where I try to find the basic stiffness of the bush. I ran the simulation with the original model and the simulation seems to never terminate because the time step drops to a very small value and the run time is increasing. So I decided to simplify the problem I am concerning with and try to solve the problem (more or less by try and error at the moment). In FIGURE_1 (attached) I have run three simulations with my simplified models. The simulation in the figure on the left hand side is really close to the problem I have with the hydro bush (more or less). It is a rubber to rubber material impact. So I have used MAT42 (hyperelastic material model) and I have used the contact TYPE 7. The cylindrical material is being pushed with a concentrated force to the wall for the impact. The total run time is 1 second and I have used the DT/NODA/CST/0 to increase DT. The first simulation in the figure on the left hand side was killed because it has reached the limit for its total mass error and the energy error. The second simulation in the figure in the middle was slightly chanced but with no changes in the engine file. Here, the run terminates (without issues) but the value for the energy error was still high and as you can see there are some distorted elements. In the last simulation in the figure on the right hand side I made the wall thicker and still did not change the commands in the engine file. Here, the run terminates properly and the energy error is also good. I am not allowed to change the model properties but this is the result I want to achieve with the simulation one and two. How can I improve simulation one and two? Could it be a problem in the contact definition or some mistakes in the property definition? I will attach the starter and engine file as well as the engine OUT file of simulation one and two. I would be really great if I can get some useful hints on how to improve the problem, because I am really new to RADIOSS. Thank you very much in advance.
  7. Hi all, In my dropping simulation, the energy suddenly rose and the time step was controlled by foam self contact and drop dramatically. From the animation of the process, the mesh of the foam deform dramatically at time t=4.16s, and at the same time the kinetic energy sudden rose. The engine out file was attached and the contact parameters were listed in file ContactParameter.txt. The contact between the metal plate and the foam was defined and the self contact of foam was also in consideration. In addition, the part 6 was metal and Ishell=24 QEPH formulation was used. part 86 was foam and Isolid=24 HEPH formulation was used. So how should I do to solve this problem?
