Dear Support Team, I use Hypermesh and Optistruct to build flexbody models to use in MSC Adams MBD models. Since my flexbody models are large and have too many unused DOFs, I need to reduce them only to ASET DOFs. In the particular problem I'm trying to solve, I have a machine part with a few ASETs to attach/constrain it and a single location where I get response data from. So, the only DOFs I need are the DOFs of this response location (in addition to the DOFs of other ASETs). I can put an ASET on this location but I don't know how to force Optistruct to output only ASET DOFs to the generated Adams MNF file. In the docs for Optistruct MODEL solver card, Comment #1 states that: "For CMS superelements output in h3d format, only the ASET DOF are output when the MODEL data is not present." I need this same effect but with MNF format and not h3d format, since I work with MSC Adams and not Motion View. I have tried a few ways on my own but have been unable to succeed. Dear all, I am building an elastic multi-body dynamic model and I need to model the screws connecting some parts in the model. I plan to model the screws as 1D beam elements. I have seen that I have two options, CBEAM and CMBEAM. The documentation says: CBEAM: The CBEAM bulk data entry defines a beam element (BEAM) of the structural model. CMBEAM: Defines a beam element for multi-body dynamics solution sequence without reference to a property entry. I'm leaning towards CMBEAM more as it specifically states the element is for multi-body dynamics. But I don't quite understand the differences between the two. I have seen CMS models which use CBEAM instead of CMBEAM so it seems it is indeed possible to use CBEAM in an elastic MBD analysis. I would be grateful for any further information regarding the differences between CBEAM and CMBEAM, as well as which one should be used for an MBD analysis comprising flexbodies. Hello, I am developing a Vibration set that simulates a free 4 degree of freedom system using beams as the spring element. I am an inexperienced user and am trying to make a dynamic simulation of the system. This simulation should give me the position of each mass by the time the set vibrates. It would be nice to have some other data as natural frequencies and mode shapes as well. I was trying at first to use flexbodies to simulate the spring beams, but I couldn't figure out how to have initial displacement as the input of the system. With the calculated force to move it to the initial displacement position, I couldn't use the force only for one second an than having a vibration response. What do you suggest as a method for me to simulate these? Should I try it with NLFE? dispsfix.hm I appreciate any help given! disp.stp dispsfix.hm
Hi, i have two questions/problems for now 1) Is there a way to perform Stress Analysis without using a flexbody? 2) when i create a flexbody and define a contact at the Body, an error was shown when i tried to run the model. (Entity Model-PartBody.2 is turned off but is referenced by Model-Contact 3-jg_1. [General]) thanks in advance.
