  1. Hi, I am a student in RWTH Aachen univeristy. I am using Hypermesh engineering solutions for a mini thesis work. I am doing a 2 dimensional thermal fluid flow analysis. So i used hypermesh to make and mesh the model. The problem is while converting it to the Fluent the boundary condition doesnot recognise the interface between fluid and solid. In normal conversion from gambit it gives me a wall and wall- shadow in fluent... but in hypermesh it only recognises a wall and a wall-*** but there is no option of coupled in here for the thermal analysis. Can anyone please help me with this?
  2. When trying to export mesh to cas, an error "*Component names* are assumed to have interface elements and are not included" pops up. I need interface elements (overlapping face elements that are not connected) in my cas file for solving in fluent. How do I export mesh with interface elements.
  3. Hello guys, I tried the tutorial "HS-1545: DOE and Optimization Study with HyperMesh, HyperStudy, and ANSYS CFX" and it worked very well. Now I want to use a .msh file instead of the model.cas file. I thought there should be no problem because it is also a fluent-file. So I created a new study and went through the steps of the setup. When I reached the "evalute" step HS was able to write the Input files. But when HS wanted to execute it shows me always the attached picture. Is it possible to change some terms in the responsible files to avoid this error? Or is it just impossible to use a .msh file?
  4. hey, i am new to hypermesh and i want to create mesh then export it to fluent, while the mesh is being exported successfully i face problems when i run the fluid simulation. i see the analsysis for only 1 mesh thickness and the flow is not going any further . i created a simple geometry to test my hypothesis. i suspect there is a problem is treating the body as fluid, kindly guide me.
  5. Hi! I want to export a heatsink mesh file into fluent. According to the below pictures, a volume of fluid passes through a heatsink using a suction fan located inside the elbow duct. The mesh was produced using automesh and solid map (line drag) for solid and fluid parts. Boundary conditions were defined as figs 1,2 and 3 shows. As figs 4 and 5 show, while I was exporting the final model to fluent, the error says that there is duplicate and mixed element types in my model. What can I do to fix this error and export my model successfully in the fluent? looking forward to receive your kind help
  6. I have meshed a 2-dimensional conjugate heat transfer model in Hypermesh and need to solve it in Fluent. I am not able to get the wall boundary condition between a solid and fluid as a coupled interface. It states in the Hypermesh tips for fluent document that we need to make the wall from ^edges and then when you export it to fluent it should create shadow zone automatically but this isn't working for me. I have tried with simple meshing without 2d BL meshes. I have tried with only one solid body in the fluid air but still I am not successful in getting a coupled wall. I tried it with CFD tetra mesh for a simple body in 3d with ^faces collector and it converted to shadow zone in fluent. Its only a problem with 2d i guess. Kindly help me with this problem and if anybody has a tutorial with a 2d solid to fluid contact coupled wall please do let me know. I need it for my mini thesis and I am just stuck at this part.
  7. Hi friends, I have used Ansys Fluent Meshing to mesh a component and then Hypermesh to improve the mesh quality. Can someone tell me the hypermesh equivalent for Orthogonal Quality in Ansys. Thank you
