  1. Hi, I have problem in using the 2D CAD import feature. So, I did some surface element in CATIA, I saved in .CATPart, STL. or STP file. Then I try the import geometry function and it did not show anything. Do anyone can point me to any example that did the 2D import, or what is the file type, object (surface element? sketch??) that needed to be able to import the geometry in Flux2D. Thank you, Jerome.
  2. Hi, I just wonder is that a quick way to hide the entire volume region during processing? I have try the invisible in the data tree, looks like only works when you at the lines parameter, so hiding the lines one by one will be a pain. Thanks, Jerome.
  3. Good morning, I have a question about how to calculating the efficiency of coil in 2D and 3D model in Altair flux? I think we should start with using the 'compute on physics entity' function to do it but what to use? Active power? or Joule losses? Is that matter for coil and substrate region? Also, for total power of the multiple-turn coil: Total power = total sum of power from all the regions? Should I account the negative and positive sign cancel out each other? Regards, Jerome.
  4. Hello, I am performing thermal simulation using Flux2D and I want to import Bertotti losses distribution from magnetostatic model using Python script. When I run the .py script I receive the following error: Unknown argument: Bertotti_losses_distribution_stator_lamination_2D This argument must be defined in your jython session before usage. Do you have any idea about that? Could you help me, please? Thanks.

Hi, I am performing a thermal simulation of PMSM using Flux2D but when I start solving the execution fails after a few seconds and the following error appears: PBCEVL_3 => Failed PBERES_3 => failed FL5RE4 => Command not executed correctly FL5ERS => failed FL5ERS_1 => failed executeAlgo => failed executeAlgo : Execution failed.   7. Hello, I am trying to simulate a DC Brushless motor in Flux2d, however I am having trouble configuring the electric circuit (Commutator for the brushes) that I require. The motor geometry is as shown below, with the red faces being the coils around the rotor spokes. in order to define my commutator, i ran the program Circuit_collector 2D, as shown in the DC MOTOR example. i filled the the parameters to the best of my understanding However whenever i press OK, I recieve an error message and the program leaves me with an incoherent Circuit which I dont dont how to use. our motor configuration should b similar to this: Please help us make this work. I Would like to couple my SRM Machine model in Flux to Activate to perform a closed loop simulation using a look up table approach which is given in a document " Switched Reluctance Motor Multiphysics simulation". Can any one provide the Activate blocks shown in the example ?? 2. I would like to do a electromagnetic simulation where the motor should be started with a load (torque). Is it required to include moment of inertia of the load as well ? 3. I would like to compute efficiency map of the motor. Are there any python scripts available ?     LICENSE ERROR

    Dear all, I got my student license to install Flux 2D on my laptop almost a year ago. I removed such a software from my computer a couple of months ago, now I need it again. The installation process was fine, but while opening one of my old projects (created a year ago with the same software) the following notification displays. Can you please help me to fix this?   11. Hi, Anybody know what is the assumption for flux2d in the z-direction (in-and-out the screen). Is the equations are assuming some kind of symmetry in the z-direction? I was thinking something similar to plane strain/plane stress assumptions. Is there a user manual or explanation for me to study about the physics behind flux2d? Jerome.

  13. Hi, Is that possible to run multiple simulations with different inputs (especially material properties) in Altair Flux with the python interface automatically? I wish I could code, for example 'for loop', that I can change the inputs and export the simulation results into excel or txt file. Regards, Jerome.

  16. Hi all, I am simulating kind of single-phase transformer with Grain Oriented materials. I am modeling the iron core with a 'magnetic non conducting region'. Magnetization curves along rolling and transverse direction are characterized up to saturation and their measurements data are smooth enough. They are modeled through an 'anisotropic spline saturation' tool removing the knee in the Rayleigh zone, as suggested in the User Guide. Performing a transient analysis, the solver is not able to converge during Newton-Raphson computations for medium-high field strength values. On the other hand, when simulating very low and extremely high field strengths, the solver converges with no particular issues. Can you please help me to figure it out? Thank you in advance, MB
  17. Hi all, let's suppose I want to simulate a two-poles electrical machine with Flux 2D and calculate iron losses on faces. To reduce the domain size I would simulate one-half of the machine setting an even periodic condition (periodicity). Does Flux output losses for only one-half of the machine or for the whole model, automatically taking into account the periodicity? Thank you in advance. Best regards, Marco Biasion
  18. Hi all, I am working on Synchronous Machines design performing 2D FEM analysis with Flux 2018. I have obtained the post-processing results concerning magnetic flux density distribution in the domain, iron loss figure computed by means of Bertotti formulation and so on. Now I need to access iron losses and magnetic flux density data for each element of the finite-element mesh. This is needed for further investigations, e.g., compute how many mesh elements have a certain magnitude of magnetic flux density. Is it possible? How can I do it? I know that "Computation on points" analysis is available, but it is not useful in this particular case. BR, Marco Biasion

  20. hello, i am using a student edition of flux for my M.Tech project. I need to co-simulate a PMSM motor with Field Oriented Control. what should i assign for the rotor kinematics for this condition. currently i am making it at imposed load and giving the parameters required by my project. but what i designed was for 5 amps rated, but in matlab it's going to 2000 amps. previously i used the simulink block for the PMSM, it worked fine. please help me with it. i am uploading the results i got in Simulink after co-simulation. currents.pdf speed.pdf torque.pdf
  21. In one of the semminar viedo it has been mentioned that the geometry can be exported from Flux2D and imported to FluxMotor Part Library.   22. While assigning rotor kinematics there is shown velocity as parameter but the units described are in rpm. so i used my speed in the velocity column but the angular speed i am getting is totally different. please help me in this. thank you

  25. Hi, I am VERY new to Altair Flux, and I am using a student license, and as such I have been looking everywhere for some... tutorials. I am interested in simulating and measuring torque, and flux, for switched reluctance motor (SRM). However, I am having trouble with the most basic thing for a motor: how do I simulate the phase/coils and their currents? I am trying to do a 2D simulation. From this cogging torque tutorial from the official channel, I can't see at any point the author assigning current values, only modifying the physical dimensions of the BLDC. But I really need to simulate the current to create torque for an SRM. Basically, I wanted to imitate the youtube video, but where is the part where I assign current values? i am sorry if this question is basic, but I am just having trouble finding good tutorials (or documentation) for my specific problem. Thanks!
