  1. Hi, Is there any command available to attach "note" to the maximum point of the curve. I am able to attach my note at starting point of the curve. But not able to find out the location of maximum point of curve. Please see the picture for more clarification. Thanks Mohammed Abddulla T
  2. I'd like to share the seamless integration that Compose with other HyperWorks applications, such as HyperMesh and OptiStruct. In order to expose the Compose function to other HyperWorks applications, we need to register the function. This is done clicking on the right mouse button on Register Function in Compose: After this step, we may now see that the function has been registered under the same mouse click shown above under Show Registered Functions button. Once it is registered, we may now use it inside other HyperWorks softwares, and the function will be available without the need for closing and reopening the application of interest. Example in HyperMesh: Why Compose and HyperMesh? Matrix Browser queries and modifies HyperMesh and HyperView data entities without writing cumbersome TCL coding, along with a Math method developed in Compose. Example in HyperGraph: Why Compose and HyperGraph? Plotting capabilities of HyperGraph are expanded with Compose’s advanced functions and custom procedures developed by the user. Example in HyperView: Why Compose and HyperView? Advanced post-processing or special mathematical approaches may be applied directly on the model. Example in HyperStudy: Add a new output response Define a new expression Use your custom Compose function Why Compose and HyperStudy? User-defined functions to perform design exploration and optimization. Example in OptiStruct: Why Compose and OptiStruct? User-defined functions to perform optimization with DRESP3 card (desired response based on external files). Regards, Roberta
  3. Hi everyone, I am performing a tensile test on a test coupon bar, accordingly to the tutorial proposed at the part 3.1.5 of Nonlinear_FEA free ebook by Altair. I have some problems in plotting the stress-strain curve: I do not understand why some scale factors are introduced and why the designer chose those values. My main problem is which scale factors values choose for my plot: I use another .fem virtual desk, I create the spring and the RBE2, then I follow document/video steps. Best regards Martina
  4. Hello All, I have a query regarding the use of filters in Hypergraph. I am concerned about the peak force observed from my data as it can damage experimental crash sledge. With Raw data I am getting peak force as high as 924 kN. After applying SAE J211/1 filter with CFC 600, it has reduced to 431 kN. Please find following graph for more details: I request you to please guide me which value is more reliable. If i consider unfiltered force as true value, then it will damage Load cell as well as crash sledge. Regards Nitin Jain
  5. Hi, I create from a curve a FFT. The amplitude of the curve is of 1, but the magnitude of the FFT is a lot lot time higher than the original data. I have observed that it changes according to the number of point data from the original curve. Is a procedure to fix this? or I am missinterpreting something? Thanks
  6. Hi all, I need to attatch a note to a curve's peak in hypergraph by using tcl\tk . can anyone help me out in this. and i want to know co-ordinate info also of the all peak. thanks
  7. I don't know where is the issue. I appreciate your help , thank you ! Best regards, hmmenT01 EDIT : PROBLEM SOLVED
  8. Hello Everybody, I've been struggling with NLGEOM analysis with CNTNLSUB since yesterday and I still don't understand a few things. What I want to do is to load a steel plate for 1 s and in the next step to unload it. I load the structure with one Force in Z direction NLOAD in the subcase 310. NLOAD activates TABLED1 where the basic linear function is defined x=0, y=0; x=1, y=1. In the next subcase 311 I use CNTNLSUB = YES, the same SPC and the same NLPARM. The nonly difference is that I do not define any load, since it should be the step, where the structure is being unloaded. Below you can find the plots I got and short descriptions of respective graphs. On the Displacement - Force plot, you can see a discontinuity between the curve belonging to the SUBCASE 310 (loading) and SUBCASE 311 (unloading). What is more, the force increases in the second step despite the lack of any loading force. The force is being increased up to 8000 N, which is a doubled value of the load defined in the first step. On the Time-Displacement plot the curve is continuos. However, the displacement is being increased till the end of the simulation (as expected based on the graph Displacement - Force). The Time-Load graph shows discontinuity again. In the beginning of unloading step, the force seems to be 0 N and than in the next increment gets back immidiately to the value, as if it was being increased, according tothe linear function present in the loading step. I would be grateful for some hints / tipps / explanation, where I make a mistake and if it is possible to create a proper loading - unloading time dependent simulation in two subcases with use of CNTNLSUB. You can find my input-deck in the attachment. nlgeom_4060_H380LAD_0p6mm_1300_CNTNL_test_01.fem

  10. What is the format file to import in Hyperview NVH Utility for Modal participation Analysis? & What are the cards to activate to extract the output format for modal participation factor analysis from Normal modal analysis / FRF analysis ??
  11. I'm running a crash simulation in Radioss and I have requested a T file to be written. When I try and load the T file (T01) in hyperview and in hypergraph an error comes up saying it was unable to recognise it. I set the type to 0 default and I also tried 4 because I believe hypergraph can read that. I think data is being written to the file because the file size is fairly large. Any help would be appreciated. _ront_bumper.crashT01
  12. Dear all, I'm working with HyperGraph 2017.2 on a Windows 10 desktop PC. I would like to plot a curve in Hypergraph and color the shaded area under the line. Via Google I have found this link, where it seems that there is a check box available from the Curve attributes panel on the Line attributes tab. However, this check box seems to be missing for my Hypergraph: Does anyone have an idea how to solve this? (Or any other method to color the area under the line?) Kind regards, Robbin
  13. Hi, In explicit dynamic run using Radioss, i am trying to output energy plot . I have defined TH/PART in a deck file. Whenever i am trying to load *.T01 file into Hypergraph, its showing following error - (refer attached image) Please help in this problem.

  16. Hi all, I am looking for post processing options in Hyperview tool, came across this following tutorial (page 321 and Topic 10: Graphical display): http://www.altairuniversity.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Student_Guide_307-342.pdf In the tutorial, they have mentioned Depending on the kind of information you may specify “Node Path”, I could not find this option on Hyperview, do we have any pre requisite for this step to be mentioned before analysis? Need your help to extract the similar graph for my model. Thanks in advance Regards, Sachin
  17. Hello, I'm trying to get in Hypergraph (T01 file) the results (stress, strain mainly) for composite material (Law 25 CRASURV Formulation). HyperGraph gives me results in two possible coordinate systems: - Default: Element Coordinate System - Skew: Coordinate system for stress output set by user I want that Hypergraph give me stress in a material coordinate system. For example, if I want hypergraph plot sigma X, I want to be sure that Hypergraph is plotting stress in the direction of the fiber (UD Example). In short, I want to know if it is possible for Hypergraph to plot the results in the material coordinate system such as Hyperview can do when Resolved In: Ply System is selected. Thank you in advance
  18. Hiii, TH/SHEL describes the time history of 4 node shell element. In this time history file, F1 and F2 are two variables. In RADIOSS 12 reference guide F1 and F2 are stress in direction 1 and 2 respectively. But when I plot time history for F1 and F2 in hypergraph it shows FORCE. Is it "force" or "stress"? Please clarify.
  19. Hello, I am new to Hypergraph. I need help to find the following parameters in Hypergraph 2D: Neck Force (N), Chest Deflection (mm), V*C (Viscous injury response) (mm/s) and Femur Force (N). We tried to plot these results using Nij and V*C tool under Injury pull down menu in Hypergraph 2D, but we are getting warning messages of Reference page is not valid. Could anyone please provide any solution/documents to get these values. Thanks, Suresh.

  22. I am trying to view the force vs Time graph after an impact analysis. i get a smooth curve with a peak. I have two questions, 1) How do I get the exact value of the time at which I get Max value? 2) For any other graph how do I check the value of any other parameter at this Time? Thanks, Datta
  23. Hi, I have the problem, that I have some curvout data from LS-Dyna simulations. Hypergraph/Hyperview cannot open or plot the curvout data neither from the binout file nor the Ascii-file. Has anyone used curvout data before? Attached you find a sample of the curvout file. It is very simple, even more simple than most of the other LS-Dyna Ascii-files ... Christian curvout
  24. I'm trying to create note outputs in HyperGraphs: max = {max(p1w1c1.y)} This one works well rounded max = {round(max(p1w1c1.y))} This returns the error "rounded max = { Unknown function "round" in expression round(max(p1w1c1.y)) }" For some reason, functions like round, ceil, etc. which are defined are not accessible in HG. Any thoughts? CP
  25. Hello, i am currently using Motion View to simulate a suspension geometry and I performed a Kinematics and compliance Analysis. But the standard analysis reports are not enough for my analysis. For example I want to plot the displacement of the spring or shock vs wheel center displacement, but when I do so the entire date of the analysis is plotted and I get these values on this yellow area. What I want to know is how to select certain part of the analysis to plot. For example only the part where the ride analysis is performed or the steering analysis is performed. Because the standard reports, only plot a certain range of data generated from the ptl file. I am using the templates provided by Altair of Formula SAE suspension to build the models and perform the analysis. I also want to know if there is a list that relate the requests and components that are generated from the user defined outputs, because I would like to know if the Roll center height is one of this variables. So I don´t have to create it.
